  1. Rebel Wrestling will be hosting the Rebel Open I on February 4th at Sullivan South High School in Kingsport Tn. We had kids from North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee at our last tournament the Rebel Classic VIII in December. It should be another great tournament for all to attend. You can sign your wrestlers up at trackwrestling's website. (Coach T isn't letting me post a direct link to the tournament on trackwrestling's site.) A flyer for the tournament can be found at the following link http://rebelwrestling.info/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/RebelOpenIflyer.docx
  2. Not really proud of my number, just pointing out that knowing my name really wasn't that big of a deal.
  3. It is not just about the wins/losses, it is about what they are being taught, the atmosphere and the examples being set by these fine leaders. You posted the above. How about some clarification instead of vague references? What is being taught that should cost these guys their jobs? By the way, with very little research my phone number can be found also.
  4. The "word" I've focused on in this thread is arrogance . The fact that Tribe fans believe they deserve a championship may go a long way in explaining why they don't have one.
  5. The lie would be typical internet fare... innuendo with no substance. Vague references to unsavory things being taught to the players without a single example. Skirting around supposed serious issues without a shred of evidence or even rumor. Please enlighten myself and Rebel Convert as to the sins of the coaching staff or ....
  6. A fanbae would be known as typo. Players or coaches might "deserve" a championship if there was proof they outworked every other team in the state. I doubt any definition of deserve justifies a championship for someone who sits on his #### on Friday nights and then plays on the computer all week.
  7. Because as long as your lies are vague you probably won't get sued or your #### whipped. Once your tall tales get specific you open yourself up to serious retaliation.
  8. What makes a fanbae "deserve" a championship?
  9. I think one of the South coaches stole batmast's girlfriend back in the day. He's still sorting things out from the trauma...
  10. Don't you just love the smell of arrogance in the morning?
  11. Reminder of the Rebel Classic VII coming up in less than 3 weeks. You can now sign up at trackwrestling, Filter by state and Pre-Register. You can pay on-line or when you get to the tournament.
  12. It's the flexbone. If you want to see the Double Wing drive to Bloomingdale. The formations may look the same between the three offenses at the snap, that's where it ends. Different mentalities of what each is trying to do and how they're trying to do it.
  13. Pretty sure Dec 17th is Pigeon Forge's tourney date this year.

  15. Perfect example of why DB fans are so well-thought of in NET. Is there a limit to the arrogance found in the Indian faithful? Thanks bud for reinforcing a stereo-type.

  18. formerblazer, speaking from the perspective of someone who actually knows some of the kids and their families that are now at North; you don't have a clue what you're speaking of. When cap1 called you out, an apology would have been a much better response. Both of these young men are as far from "one with issues that can not play on any HS team" as any of your kids at Boone. So, whether you meant as an insult or not, it was an insult. With regard to the game; why wouldn't Boone beat North? They're nearly double the size. North is a well-coached team that is only lacking (IMO) size enough along the lines to compete with the larger schools. Coach Norris does more with less than any coach in this area. With all that said I have ties to both schools and typically root for them both. However, slaps at the character of at least two of these young men aren't something I think should be ignored, bud.
  19. Any clubs in the general vicintiy of Nashville going to be hosting a tournament on either of these two weekends? My family will be in town one or both weekends and would like find a tourney for my son to compete in while we are there. I realize it's pretty early to know for sure but hopefully someone can give me a heads-up in the next couple of months with a definite date for a tournament. Thanks for any info.
  20. former blazer, Make no mistake they are coming after the Gray kids also. There isn't a kid, especially if he's talented, in the tri-cities area they won't try to recruit. What bothers me the most is the funneling of kids to the cities schools that is almost certainly going to happen. I've already been told about how awesome the city school's facilities are compared to the county schools and will guarantee you more than a few county parents and players exposed to this will easily be recruited to the schools with the best facilities. If I were thinking about signing my kid up for this team though, I'd do a little fact checking with some of the names listed as advisors and see just how much they are actually involved with it prior to jumping on board. I still don't see it hurting the Optimist program in Colonial Heights though, (at least in the near future) as most of the parents I've spoken to realize it's the old Fordtown program with a new name and a much better advertising agency.
  21. As someone who has been involved with Fordtown the last year or so, I would like to make a couple statements. • First; Fordtown didn't fold because of money issues. I wish that had been the reason as I would have attempted to make sure that wasn't the case. • Second; while I don't doubt the reasons stated for the initial start-up of Fordtown (I wasn't around) that was no longer true. Most parents were there due simply to the amount of playing time to be had for their son. Not to say some wouldn't have been able to contribute at CH, but this was an opportunity for more development than would have been had if there had been 50-60 kids on one team. • Third; the "traveling team" isn't planning on doing any traveling. They're simply going to a different (albeit weaker) league than the Sullivan County League. Which should ensure their success as counted in wins and losses. For the most part it is still the Fordtown coaches from last year running the show. No doubt some will be new and some of the previous ones will be gone but for the most part it will be the same staff. o This new league (the Boys Clubs of Johnson City and Greenville) doesn't restrict where players live so they intend to recruit from the entire Sullivan County League and all the Tri-Cities. • Fourth; I can't swear to it but I don't think Haney has endorsed this project to the extent that some think. I'm pretty sure he will give more support to the Chargers than the new team. I don't think the Chargers will be affected by this "new" team very much. Initially there may be some interest but overall I can't see this being a death knell for CH.

    Rebel Classic VI

We're still accepting entries and will do so until late tonight. Please contact us ASAP if interested in competing this weekend. We will have wrestlers from 5-18 years old wrestling.
  23. All High School wrestlers are welcome to come out to our tournament on February 27th. Follow this link http://www.tnyouthwrestling.com/Rebel%20Classic%20VI%20TNAAU%20Flyer___.doc for details.
  24. cougfan, while an out-of conference schedule has helped North, let's not forget that the only two teams to beat them last year had pretty nice play-off runs. One of them a deep run and the other (a larger school) beat what was considered the best team in the region. I guess what I'm saying is it has a whole lot more to do with quality coaching than a cup-cake schedule.
