  1. Buck: Great idea! We'll send after them a limousine with wet bar fully stocked. They're really Bear Cat fans who've been in a closet all this time. Here's an idea. Why don't you come down and join us? You too can witness Keefejams and Cupcake outing themselves. This is shaping up to be our best yet. Don't be left out!
  2. Yes...it is. How else are they going to know? Moreover, have you not noticed what they are doing to our sport with Title IX?
  3. What a wonderful tribute to Coach Mullin, he is a credit to Tennessee wrestling. Three State Championships in a row! His supporting cast isn't bad either, Coaches Lennon and Voiles. They earned this well-deserved tip of the hat.
  4. Not so fast there, Mr. Randolph. I made the same remark two years ago when my kid’s career ended. Now, I find myself as big a fan as ever, and I obviously frequent the CoachT site. It’s still fun to keep up with what’s going on in the wrestling community, both near and far. You’ll be pleased to learn how much you still mean to your program and the contributions you can still make to their success. They can always use your time and support. Watching your kid’s younger team mates develop and mature as wrestlers will be almost as much fun as watching your own. They will appreciate your encouragement; so will their parents and coaches. Remember, you’ve made some friends for a very long time. So don’t plan any great escape from the sport you dearly love. Stick around and check in every once in a while. If for no other reason than to see what happens next! P.S. There’s another certain someone who might heed this exhortation.
  5. For some reason, the URL doesn't show up in that particular box. Just go to: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/ on the right side of screen, in the middle, you see 'Video headlines'. Click on that. It's a collection of several video highlights recently broadcast by NBC. The thumbnail is titled: Dad attacks kid wrestler. The video is easy to get to and you'll be as stunned as I was.
  6. This morning's Today show featured a dad in Chicago running out onto the mat and tossing his kid's wrestling opponent 5 feet in the air. The kids look about 8 or 9 years old. The guy's kid had just gotten reversed and he rushed out and pulled the other kid off and threw him across the mat! You can view the video at MSNBC.com. Has anyone ever seen anything that beat that?
  7. He's a great young man. He puts the kid first, and that's the way it should be. Lets' wish him the very best.
  8. CHECK ! If you happen to run into ITJX tell him to show up too. HT Rumor has it, his bride might also attend.
  9. Caravan stop at Fox and Hound, 3:30 PM sharp. Thuppin' on pool table will resume where it left off yesterday, only more severe. And this time, I won't take a break. That is, unless BCB applies those whacky rules of his. 1. It's always his shot. 2. You just shot out of turn. 3. See rule number 1. The Lone Haranguer signing off. P.S. Harry, get Coach Carter to attend and you won't need any quarters.
  10. This wouldn't have happened if the kid's parents didn't approve. Is either school willing to take transfers from the other? Yes. Is it any of your business? No. Let the parents decide where to send their kid to school.
  11. Pay or not, but at least pursue one. So you've invented fire...what next?
  12. Lamisil or lotrimin, both are good. Grifluven is the antibiotic given to my kid - it works. Here's a shocker for p of dark. My dermatologist told us that showering after practice had NO affect on ringworm, by then, it's pretty much too late. Showering would not prevent ringworm or add therapeutic prevention to ringworm...I know, I know, that sounds ridiculous. However, I didn't want to argue with a popular dermatolgist that finished #1 in medical school and has practiced for umpteen years. A doctor that also, treats many other physicians in the city as their dermatologist. Ringworm is a problem. I can appreciate that, my kid battled it every year from the seventh grade. Puhleese, see a licensed medical professional - heed this good advice. It will pay in the long run.
  13. I agree with kdxdude. My kid got ringworm if there was a case of it in the next county. The lamisil cream is good advice, but the dermatologist we went to also gave an antibiotic.
  14. Bradley County has a good tournament. It may not be the toughest...but it ain't no picnic. Believe you me.
  15. Bear: Thank you for saying what I was thinking.
  16. Noticeably absent from Baylor's lineup is Doug Vaughn. He's a senior this year and a solid favorite for a state championship.
  17. Ian Meredith, Notre Dame. Division I college teams are drooling.
  18. What's changed? Here's what's changed. ND doesn't have to compete against these formidable schools to win a state championship. ND is now in the A/AA. While ND has to give up the 'multiplier'; they're not competing with schools twice or thrice their size. Just 1.8 times their size. Hurrumph. I realize ND could maintain the venerable rivalry established with B and M over the last many years without jeopardizing their chances in DI A/AA. That was an ND decision with which I agree. It's like expecting UTC to compete against UTK in football every year. Not to worry, we could always resume in the future. Uh, give us a break. While we're at it, reduce B and M down to 500 students; then we'll talk. I wish ND had scheduled B, and M, too. However, ND will still wrestle Cleveland, and they picked up Soddy Daisy. Not exactly a 'weak sister.' Also, they wrestle East Ridge again. Whew! Now, back to the Cleveland rivalry. I can't express how much this rivarlry means. Cleveland is one of the classiest programs I've ever known. Their coach is an All- Amrican, as a person first. I can't say enough good things about him. ND has wrestled Cleveland since, Cleveland's progam began. So, if ND doesn't wrestle B and M for a while, so mote it be. It could; probably will, come back. I'm glad you raised that point. Thanks.
  19. How many teams do you know finishing in the AP top 15 statewide over the last 4 years do you know with a coed student population of 500 plus? Hmmmm? How would you like to compete against Baylor, McCallie, CBHS, Father Ryan, et al, with twice that amount? Hmmmm?
  20. I've heard that Ian is being looked at from Division I colleges for football. He was All City prep last year as a junior.
  21. What weight did Harrison wrestle last year for Cleveland? Moreover, what does Cleveland look like this year? They are always grrrreeaaatt! Everyone of them fight like tigers.
