How did Kingston look against such a powerhouse? I wasn't able to get there and wan't an unbiased opinion. These are a bunch of young girls and glad to see they played well.
  2. That is my baby girl, Morgan Snow. She has a lot of potential if she will keep her head on straight. Still lots to work on like a little quicker throw down but her hitting is coming around with 2 dingers so far so I won't kick her out just yet.
  3. Sydney Spurgeon from Kingston. She's a soph. this year. Lead off slap hitter with lots of speed.
  4. Makeisha Fuller from Kingston. She's a jr this year.
  5. Still looking for players. Contact Todd Wicks at 865-300-8576.
  6. Great catcher looking for a strong team to play for this summer. Has a very good arm and a hot bat. #32 Morgan Snow
  7. The Silver Eagles of East TN just moved up to 16U and playing well in 16/18U showcase tournaments. We need a short stop and ace pitcher to make this team complete. We will be playing several ASA and showcase tournaments in summer/fall season of 2011 and still have a few tournaments to play this season. Call Todd Wicks for information at 865-300-8576.
  8. Where are some good places to stay in Hendersonville close to the fields and reasonably priced?
  9. toddy !!!! mo snow is ready to go kick some booty
  10. Silver Eagles? There's a lot of confidence coming out of Roane County these days. I have to say I like their spunk. yes we had our first practice tonight and we looked pretty good for a team who hasnt been together through high school season. I hope we statisticly stay in the top 10 during the season and think we will go far this year!!!
  11. Pulling and woohooing for Kingston.
  12. We managed to scrape out a win against a tough Alcoa team 5-3 tonight. They led 3-0 but we battled back in the 6th and put 5 on the board. This gives us at least a share of the district lead as we are 4-1 with our only loss to Alcoa. The question is, when you are tied in wins/losses do runs scored for or against mean anything?
  13. We spotted West 5 in the first inning and could not come back. We fought back and had some runners left on base but could not get back into the game. West played well and has a good pitcher and a very good catcher. They made some good plays in the field and hit the ball well early. Our girls played well but the first inning errors cost us dearly. Good thing it wasn't a district game .
  14. Our 2nd meeting was about as close as the first. We trailed most of the game and in our last at bat in the 7th were behind 3-2 but Parsons led off with a nice shot after 1 out Mossing layed down a great bunt. With that our pitcher Micah Gaines smacked a walk-off double deep in center. We are 4-1 in district and still not playing to our potential.
  15. We hosted Stone last night and finally put some runs on the board. Freshmen Sydney Spurgeon had an in the park homer (she is FAAAST!), while 2 other freshmen Allison Mossing and Morgan Snow both had 3 baggers. Our defense stepped up with some great plays too. We got thumped pretty good Mon. by Miegs Co, 7-0 so it was nice to get a district win!
  16. Good job for "hot wing" All the Silver Eagles are doing great and making a difference for thier teams.
  17. We had a great game against Alcoa tonight. We ended up on the "L" side in a 1-0 loss. Very good pitching and defense was played by both teams! They scored in the bottom of the 6th but we had the bases loaded in the top of the 7th but came up short. Several good hits and an equal number of defensive stops made for a fun night. The 7 inning game only lasted about an hour and a half.
  18. Well we suffered our first L of the season last Friday to Hardin Valley, that sucked. We had things in control until they released a 9 run inning. Tomorrow we will be going to Alcoa for another district matchup. Should be a good game. From what I hear/read Alcoa has a pretty good team. We are finally seeing where we stack up.
  19. ahh the silver eagles im a player and yes we are a good team and i would like to add something that noone has really touched on. ... ok well i know we are the ones out there working on softball and hitting drills but with out our coaches we would not be the atheletes we are today i want to say thanks to todd wicks and billy richardson for making me such an excelent ball player and they have helped me and the rest of the silver eagles be one of the best teams in tn. with out a doubt in my mind i owe my softball knowledge and skills to them. WE ARE AND ALWAYS WILL BE A FAMILY IN SOME WAY!

    2-0 in district

We eked out another big W tonight over Loudon . I thought we had things in hand with a 5-1 lead but a scrappy Loudon team fought back to tie it up. We ended up playing 9 innings before we could seal the deal with a 7-6 win. Good pitching and defense on both sides! Loudon has 3-4 very good players that can hit and have nice speed. Our bats finally started to heat up with 2 HR's, both inside the long fence. Our 3 and 4 spots are still a little cool but the 1 and 2 hitters kept the bags warm. We are starting 4 freshmen, the first 3 batters and 3 of the in fielders. The whole team is doing better than I imagined they would so it could be a good season after all.

    Kingston vs CAK

We looked a little better tonight in an 8-1 victory over CAK. Fewer errors and timely hitting by Kingston and several errors by CAK made the difference. Our girls put the ball in play and had solid defense tonight. Good pitching and a couple of nice hits by pitcher M. Gaines helped too. The daughter went 0-4 with a walk and 1 rbi. She had a strike out and a walk but hit the ball hard (just too high) every time. Up next we have Loudon Thursday!
  22. Meigs Co. was a scratch for us but we have CAK scheduled for tomorrow. I will post as the scores come in.

    Board Action

We managed to get 2 and a half games in between the rain and frigid wind. We have a long ways to go but there is hope. We lost to Midway and to Rockwood in a shortened game but we did manage to beat Coalfield. It is hard to get a good read on things as players were playing several positions and the coaches were tinkering with setup. I have to brag a little on my girl though. She played well in the field at catcher and first and made good contact with the ball in 5 of 6 at bats. She had a stand up double of the phenom from Coalfield which could have flown the fence if not for a stiff breeze pushing it back. She was a little nervous it being her first high school games but she dug in and fought through it. I am proud of her and all our girls. She also got to pitch a couple of innings and didn't get scored on. She is NOT a pitcher but will help out wherever she is needed!

    Board Action

Playing in Rockwood tomorrow weather permitting. I am anxious to see what we have at Kingston!
  25. We (Kingston) have a freshman named Sydney Spurgeon that is very quick. In travel ball she has been our lead off and tough to stop. A good slapper and can hit for power too. So far she is the quickest from home to first I have seen.
