  1. Correction... West TN all-star game is late April / May from what I hear. Once again, congrats to these young ladies from both teams. You all deserve to be all-state this year. Congrats to the Miss Basketball winners as well on these teams !
  2. Fantastic TACA/BCAT East-West All Star game today ! Tons of offense, as expected, with the West defeating the East 90-85. A close game all the way to the finish with the lead changing back and forth throughout the game. Lots of college scouts there as well to see the top talent across the state. It looked like they had a great time out there. I know West TN has a game usually in late March/early April featuring the talent across the West TN area as well. Looking forward to that game also. Very impressed with the talent across the state ! Congratulations to all of these young ladies on being selected to play and on their accomplishments in high school. Good luck at the next level girls.
  3. Congratulations to Lake County on a great year . They will be back next year stronger and even better ! Congrats also to Scott's Hill on their win today
  4. Big congrats to Ms. Jordan Galey of Greenfield High School for being selected to play in the BCAT (Basketball Coaches Association of Tennessee) All-Star Elite game this Saturday in Murphreesboro. She along with 19 other girls across the state have been chosen to play in the game representing their respective schools. These 20 girls will be representing classes A, AA, and AAA. Two other seniors involved in state tournament play may also play pending turnouts of their state games. This game will begin around 11:30. Other senior games beginning at 9 and 10 will also be played with approximately 40 seniors across the state. Invitation only, no walk ups. Good luck to Jordan and the rest of these super athletes from across the state ! As soon as a roster is available I will post.
  5. Congratulations to Jordan Galey of Greenfield High School on a superb high school career!! Over 1700 high school points with over 500 this season. Great job! She has been a CLASS ACT and a pleasure to watch over the years !
  6. Congrats to Wes Clark of Greenfield for passing the 1000 point mark ! Good job, and keep up the good work ! A fine young player and student I have heard .
  7. I for one am NOT ashamed of Greenfield's play. No they did not play well against Gleason and lost a big lead, but a lot of that has to do with the changes made in the offense and defense they were running. They quit doing what was working and went cold shooting. That happens sometimes. They did not shoot the ball very much at all during the third and fourth quarters thanks to Gleasons defense. The post players obviously shouldn't have shot 5-7 three pointers either. They do have a leader/s on the floor , and her name is Jordan Galey as well as Emily Randolph. Night after night I watch Galey point and tell the others where they are supposed to be on the floor. I'm amazed that she plays as well as she does while having to make sure most of the others are where they are supposed to be. Not an easy task however she does know where everyone is supposed to be since she plays all positions out there and moves from forward to guard, to point at times and to post. Gleason played better just as they did in the Greenfield loss last year in the region tournament. Allen wasn't her normal self out there either and she has done a good job this year being the point guard. Rawls still doesn't know all of the plays after being out with her injury so gets confused easily when she is out there. She played well against Halls. I used to read the posts on here alot, but it seems it's a lot of talking down to these players. These are kids and are doing the best they can. I also know that a lot of them read stuff on here. Not so impressed with the kind of comments on here sometimes. Good luck to Greenfield and Lake County tonight. Hope it's a good game.
  8. I agree with most of the things said about 14A. I've seen Greenfield, Bradford, Trenton, Union City, and Bradford play this year. I think Greenfield will be a solid team when they gets all their ducks in a row and will be capable of beating anyone. I did see Galey play point for Greenfield much of the game against Liberty. I have to say, she is a good point player as well, handles the ball well and makes excellent passes. I know they will be looking to her even when the Rawls girl does get back for help in the point position. They seem a bit off sync at this point. I did see the Humboldt game and that loss shouldn't have happened. Greenfield shot the ball 19 times in the entire game, and only 9 in the entire second half. Lake Co. will be the team to beat once again. Humboldt had some heighth again and some strong players, but didn't come on strong until the second half when Greenfield just quit shooting. Anyway, good luck to all teams in the season.
  9. Greenfield girls will be playing Perry County in the Hall of Champions game on Saturday. I think their boys are playing Henry County . I'm not sure on the times on those. I do know that Greenfield girls played Westview last week and won by double digits in a scrimmage. I'm not sure how good Westview or Greenfield is this year, but it looks to be an interesting year again in 14A !
  10. Good luck to all the teams in the 14a tourneys tonight. Ready to see two good games and look at the local talent. It's loaded in this district. My pick for MVP would be Galey from Greenfield. I think Flowers and Wallsmith are excellent players as well, but for me Jordan Galey is deserving. Not only CAN she play every position on the floor, but DOES so almost every game at some point. Just a very versitile athlete. Didn't know about her playing baseball long ago. Flowers is unstoppable as well as Galey..they can only be contained. They only stop themselves with foul trouble or poor shooting nights which happens to players from time to time. I do know that Galey leads her team in scoring, rebounding, steals, and freethrow %. I'm sure Flowers and Wallsmiths credentials are impressive as well. Three excellent and deserving players. Too bad there can't be three MVPs ! Anyway, great job to all three of you girls and your respective teams. District 14a is the best district in west and middle tennessee in my opinion.
  11. New to the boards but not West Tennessee girl's basketball due to my job. Just wandering about a few players around the area. I have seen the Gailey (sp?) girl from Greenfield play many many times this year. I know several places have been watching her since she was a freshman as I have since she was the runner up for newcomer of the year back in 08 for the Jackson Sun. (Holloway knew what he was talking about.)Was just wondering what kind of student she is? Was wondering if Volfan maybe could enlighten me? I realize you're from that area and seem to know the players. I have also heard she has been playing the entire year with a torn meniscus and will have surgery after basketball season on the knee and maybe a shoulder that comes out of place. Must be playing with lots of pain this year, and doin so well! Any info would be appreciated.
  12. I think so many girls are playing great basketball and deserving this year as always in Class A. There is an awesome group of young ladies that mean a lot to their respective teams. Any of the top candidates would be deserving in my opinion! Way to go ladies ! My top choices: Laken Leonard Molly Heady Beth Hawn Others? Sara Nelms Jordan Galey TT Flowers
