Stone didn't avoid those teams from the east, that is who they beat in district and region. They beat Fulton in first round of region 93 to 77, then beat AE in the semi's, and beat Alcoa for the second time in the finals. They are a well tested team, having played Bolivar and Liberty this year too.

Bolivar wasn't though, they are also in that great district 14aa.

I agree with CD not being a good sight for this tournament for the reasons listed. But, there are other sights, that are not neutral, that I think would be fine to have it at. I agree too that there should be more to it than money, but its a key factor with principals and administration. And in district 1, they are the ones that wanted the district moved from a neutral site. So now its rotated between schools.

It costs the district and region money to have it at a neutral place.

That's a good one chill, but I think Unicoi beats stone last year if hensley doesn't get hurt b4 halftime. Think that would be an interesting matchup again this year. Unicoi is better defensively this year for sure. Don't know much about alcoa? Know they are good. East has a good experienced team with 7 Sr's and 7 jr's on their roster. Could be good matchups?

Game 5, series tied at 2 for this year. These two teams will play one more time to try and settle this rivalry. Since East dropped down to AA 3 years ago (counting this year), these two teams have been going at it. They have played 12 times in the last 3 years, with both teams winning 6 times. East won the regular season title, district, and region 3 years ago. Unicoi won regular season title, district, and region last year. Unicoi has won regular season and district this year with the region title still out there on Thursday. Any thoughts on this game??? Should be a good one, can't wait till Friday.

This is the second year in a row this Matchups has come out this way. Last year EHS had no answer for Jason steele, this year it was dusty stout. What a game this little guard played. Congrats to JCHS. Think EHS will get rid of coach dugger now? Or, is this still gordan's fault?

Sparky, maybe What you said is true, but his Happy Valley team won the District Tournament in 2006 and made the Region Semi's. They upset #2 South Greene and #1 Unicoi County in the district. That's not been that long ago. They also were the team that ended Unicoi County's conference winning streak at 49 in 2007.
