Ask this man about 3 peats and how hard it is to do. That was the sentiment in Elizabethton after 2014 too and they didn't even get back to championship game. It's easy to say, harder to do. Even if the team doesn't have a senior and best two players is a sophomore and a freshman. Good luck to you on your quest though. I am an east TN fan that hopes you do it.

I know this was posted about my school. That plaque was from the officials. They asked both head coaches from the two teams if they cared if they presented the plaque to him before the game. That it was going to be his final game. He wasn't doing any tournament games, so both coaches, including your coach said that would be fine. It wasn't like our school was giving him anything. We were unaware that he was retiring until the other two officials got it set up.

Unicoi county is in region 1, there are all kinds of schools you left off that list that we would drive by to be in region 2. All of Greene county.

And I couldn't blame them. If it rotates, it should be somewhere west of Murfreesboro (Jackson area maybe) and somewhere east of Murfreesboro (Knoxville area maybe) and then Murfreesboro or Nashville.

I say split private/public schools. Have 4 classifications in all sports (instead of 5 for FB and 3 for all other sports) for public, 2 classifications in private. Then for basketball, I say to get rid of district tournaments all together. Have one big region tournament with all schools from the two districts, with top two advancing to the sectional and sectional winners go to state tournament. For example: say 1 district has 6 teams and 1 has 7 teams. The district with 7 would have a play-in game between #6. The one and two seeds would have byes. #3 from one dist plays #6 from the other dist, the #4's play the #5's. The winners then move on to play the 1's and 2's. Play everything up to semifinals at the higher seed like you do first round of the region now. Not sure if that example makes sense or not? But 1 big region tourney is my suggestion. And I like the idea of rotating the state, even though I like to go every year too.

I heard hamptons coach saying that there should have been 2 FT's and only 1 was shot. So he was asking to stop game to check and shoot the other one. But it was only 1&1 and the first one was missed. They did give Hampton the ball even though the whistle blew right before he caught the ball.

So you're saying Unicoi is always better than Hampton and Cloudland just because there are more kids. That's craziness.

If they played at the hill, they would have to change address or sit out a year. Patrick won't have to because john is his dad. He will automatically be eligible.

Last I saw, CJ Good shooting 50% from three, 109/218, and was averaging over 4 makes a game. He is unreal.

Coach Campbell did a wonderful job, year in and year out. Don't know what happened but the grass is hardly ever greener on the other side.

As a fellow coach in the area, YOU ARE CRAZY. To say he won't be hard to replace and win multiple state championships fairly quickly is ludicrous. No wonder he left.

Unicoi County had a nice run going back to 1984. Won state in '84, '91, '92, '95 with 5 to 7 runner up trophy's from '85 to '02 also. Had best record in state and ranked as high as 5 in nation in '85, lost championship game for only loss.

Would be a good one.
