  1. You may not believe it, but I'm glad that the 'Jackets pulled out the win...in the same breath I'll tell you that Haywood was the better team, you caught them exactly when you needed to in order to win, and your kids and coaches were fantastic. Enjoy it though...programs vie to be where you all are now for generations and some never make it. Save the cockiness for someone else...there's a monster waiting in Cookeville for you, and their posters will gladly exchange with you if you still are feeling froggy after you reach 200 posts...they're sort of famous for it. Still...good luck to Springfield against the monster, I'd rather be wrong and y'all win one than be right and you go away quietly. Either way you'll be gone soon enough, and I'd be happy for the Yellowjackets regulars on here to take down the beast from the east.
  2. Humboldt has a"WOW" applicant...unless they get another that I wouldn't expect, they probably have their man. This will be a head scratcher for sure! All depends upon whether or not a better program offers that he has applied to as well.
  3. I wasn't trying to imply anything, and looks like I sort of opened a can 'o worms...I hope that he stays. I believe that "good coaching" and "good situations" go hand in hand...I have witnessed great young coaches lift programs, only to leave for "better jobs", and neither the coach nor the program work as well without the other. Sorry to get that started.
  4. Read the Constitution. To paraphrase...ALL MEN are created EQUAL, the Bill of Rights does not "grant" rights... it GUARANTEES that the rights GOD INTENDED EVERY MAN to have be preserved by THIS NATION, and that it's EVERY man's DUTY to preserve the rights of ALL MEN, and that ALL MEN have the duty to preserve the RIGHTS OF EVERY MAN. Those young men indeed have the right to kneel in protest, just as I have the right to voice my opinion concerning their actions. I just don't get the forum or the format...if you have a problem with the police, protest the police! if the USPS loses a letter, I certainly have the right to kneel for the Anthem (they are a government agency too), but it makes no sense to disrespect the symbols of our nation just because of them.
  5. All good points, and there are those that it applies to...if the man has a family to provide for and an "offer that he can't refuse" comes along, you can't blame him for listening though.
  6. If they take a knee during the Anthem, that IS what they are disrespecting. Stop trying to insinuate that a noble cause is on display...pure case of disrespecting the nation that protects their rights.
  7. Congrat's on the win 'Jackets! Y'all beat a very talented team last night, but I'm sure that you know it by now...I love to see "team" triumph over talent, because it's the right way to play the game. Not disrespecting your kids at all...you have to have talent to get close to where you all are now. I'll be pulling for you in the 'ship...keep playing like last night and anything can be done! P.S. Show your coaches some love, 'cause they'll be coming for him!!!
  8. Classic! Barry White, or Barry Manilow?
  9. Glad that you are back Roy! I was afraid that powerp and pegleg had paid barney to put you in coachT jail so they could tell that Grider man's secrets and look real smart. I hope that Wendy will let you out from under that rock soon...somebody might think that you are from Jasper if they see you under there, and I ain't joking.
  10. White House lost to Jackson SouthSide a week ago Friday night...the moron left his typical one word post..."congrats". Wish coachT would remove the post count so the idiot wouldn't bother to leave stupid, one or two word posts...I've even seen him "bump" a topic in the top three...sheesh!!! Feel better now.
  11. Oh puhhhleeaasssseee...don't get me started on him!!!
  12. I'm from West Tennessee. I said earlier that Springfield was better than SouthSide or Lexington, and have no doubt that "good football" is played from Johnson City to Memphis. Believe me when I tell you that I have no knowledge of most teams you've played this year (White House, Lexington, and SouthSide are it). I have no bias in this game, and for what it's worth I think the 'Jackets are pretty good...the fact remains that Haywood is one of the three or four best teams west of the river (excluding Memphis), and probably the best of even those. Play the underdog role to the hilt if you like, but this is the first game where that shoe fits.
  13. In my best Irish brogue; Here's to hopin' that me favorite wee fairy's team 'o choice has a magnificent day Saturday fortnight...and may the celebration last for days!!!
  14. I really couldn't care less! As long as there is a "system" and it is followed correctly, I don't understand why the outcry. If some details were manipulated in order to favor one over another, that would be a little different. Before someone starts with "the powerhouses always..." argument...if you envy their position, knock them out of it. Leave it as it is, or change it...makes no difference to me, but to say one way is more "fair" to all involved than the other would be false for the simple reason that everyone begins their season at 0-0, and nobody knows who will be seeded where at seasons end. Too much complaining about non issues.
  15. I didn't mean to sound negative, just that I feel that it will take a complete game for Springfield to have a shot at the end. Past game experience will not let your kids get down if they fall behind early, but to beat Haywood I believe y'all need the lead before halftime.
  16. What would worry me most is the fact that you were a better team than Lexington or Southside and still got behind.
  17. WOW...FIVE WORDS IN THIS POST!!! Got to be one of your longest of the 36,000 + in your storied career! At least better than the "congrats" you left for the White House fans after LOSING to Jackson SouthSide...you're a bum.
  18. Springfield can not start against Haywood like they have against Lexington and SouthSide, or there will be no coming back. No matter how one sided these games look, both teams have the same time on the field and start the game 0-0...having said that, the Tomcats are waaayyy better than both the western division teams that Springfield has faced already, and won't let up 'till the game is well in hand. Best thing for the 'Jackets, is the fact that Haywood sometimes takes a while to get settled in and rolling too.
  19. That's what Huntingdon has always done. This season was the year that they opened up the playbook though...all season they have called a better offense than in years past, only to "revert back" to what they have done before in the playoffs. Not disrespecting Cornersville at all, but the 'Stangs were a much better team in week 5 than for the last two or three weeks. I'll have to agree with most H-town fans (and a few others) that they have had the team to have won state on more than one occasion. Best team doesn't always win, but they should some of the time.
  20. Us old coots can still enjoy it when our boys put a big one in the sack tho'. Enjoy this one...and I think maybe you might get another one...or two!
  21. Congratulations CA. I'll have mine braised in garlic... medium rare if you please, crow is dry when overcooked! Seriously...great job, I know what an effort it must have taken to eliminate Waverly...play two more like that and they'll forever remember who won the gold.
  22. DOGS WIN!!! DOWN GOES FRAIZER...DOWN GOES FRAIZER!!!
  23. 'Dogs with 3 shots to get 1 yard and extra point...give him six...extra point away from the semi's!!!
