  1. Dang, thought they were gonna pitch a shut out. Oh well even if it's not a shut out they're well on the way to a shut up
  2. I thought you wanted to stay on topic? Quit muddying the waters just because your feelings got hurt that I don't hold the same opinion of WB that you do. As for the game I'm gonna try it again. Hampton wouldn't beat WB by 21. Boyd might just hang 50 on 'em. I see Boyd winning big with the starters sipping Gatorade when the final horn sounds. If I'm wrong I'll admit it. If I'm right you'll hear it. That said obviously my take on this game is unwanted so for now I'll just watch from afar. Until after the game that is
  3. You may already be watching my work on Saturdays & not even know it As for my team, as I have said before, it is of no concern to this thread. Bait all you want, I ain't bitin'.
  4. See Pujo, it's all a big misunderstanding, the monkey in question is right handed. Should still be able to average 200, even left handed Seriously though that comment was aimed, again at the way theirs is being ran, not really at the players running it. In hind sight that may have been a little to blunt of a way to word it. It's just an expression I've heard numerous times about the spread offense. I guess WB may still be a little to new at it to be familiar with that phrase In a spread you . . . Well spread the field so much that you generate "pockets" of open space. Then your talent makes plays off of, generally, short to intermediate pass plays (consistent YAC's). Now some folks do subscribe to the "spread 'em out so you can run between them. This is usually due to the inability to run through them. In short, generally, if your running in the spread it's because you can't run through 'em or you can't consistently throw on 'em.
  5. Ok but it may take a day or so. Just realized after I asked you that mine was out. Like I said I'm on a mobile. Never renewed on one so I'm not sure how it'll go.
  6. Just a reminder from page 4. This is my post in response to a Boyd fan. Just to shed a little more light on the "downanddistance hates WB" theory
  7. Like I said, I'm a little to blunt to throw it out there for the world to see. You a plus member? I'm on a mobile so I can't see everything available on a desk top or lap top.
  8. That's what I'm trying to do but YOU keep dragging it off topic. My original post stated, basically, that I felt Boyd or Hampton would handle WB. Then a poster asked about WB's offense. Again I stated what I felt to be the case. I NEVER stated the QB wouldn't start for area schools. I stated he wouldn't start for a program that was a legitimate contender (for a state title). As for my "beef" with WB, there isn't one. My problem is with a play off system that give a good team the advantages that should be reserved for great teams (first round bye & home field). And as for "my" team they are still alive & well. Not in district 4 either. I have not & will not get on here boasting about the team I regularly follow because first I choose not to & second my blunt nature would draw negative comments from the "thin skinned" that are so prevailant on here. Finally, just to clear the air, the "average" comment about WB's spread attack has been taken out of context & I have failed to correct it. It is mostly aimed not at the players running it but at the way the players are TOLD to run it & the play calling. WB's coaching staff seems to be a fine group of men. I just think they need to find someone with more knowledge on running the spread to take 'em from average to above.
  9. Yeah tigerdog, Rome wasn't built in a day :roflol:
  10. If you'll go back to page 4 your "coach t hero" agreed with me that this one could get ugly. Pujo is truly a class act & stated it much more PC than I did but it is what it is. Knowledgeable football fans agree WB is a huge underdog this week. Can they beat Boyd? Sure it is possible. Will it happen? I wouldn't put money on it.
  11. Tigerdog wishes they'd recruited him to
  12. Didn't bash anyone. Stated they weren't the best around. I suspect they already know that. Didn't say they were a bunch of no talent bums, in fact I stated they were more talented than most of their predecessors. As for my high school career, I did OK, ain't playing on Sundays but I got to hit some folks. As for my team, this week I'm pullin' for Boyd. As for my life, well let's just say I've been to Wartburg . . . & kept on goin'
  13. Several things to address here. I have said this three times in two other posts on this thread but since you asked I'll throw it against the wall one more time, maybe it'll stick with you this time. I have already expressed to you that I believe the WB runs an average spread AT BEST. That is the "which one is it" in my observation & opinion. Don't agree? OK then you don't agree. Next the "no cupcakes in the schedule" comment. Please, Oakdale, Jellico, Monterey, Midway, c'mon. I mean do you even believe your own "no cupcake" comment? Next I agree with you that Rome wasn't built in a day but it's not like you just started a football program yesterday. I think y'all have been at it for awhile. Lastly I'm not trying to belittle or deminish anything that Wartburg has accomplished this year. They are having a much better season than they usually have & have much more talent than they usually do. With that said just because you put together an OK team & cruise through a weak district that overall is even more watered down than usual then get a first round bye before beating a mediocre team that beat you earlier in the season doesn't mean the dawgs are world beaters. Best of luck to the dawgs but if they win the better team will not advance & of the two I truly believe Boyd is the only one with a legitimate shot at TC or SM in round four. There it is, like it or lump it, I could care less.
  14. Like I said WB's spread is average at best. If your stats are correct then thru 10 games the QB is averaging 189 yards / game. In a well ran spread a well trained monkey could throw left handed for 200. So that leaves only a couple conclusions to draw. 1. The spread is being ran, like I said, average at best. Or 2. The receivers lack the ability to consistently gain meaningful YAC's. So, which one is it?
  15. Wartburg's management of the spread is average at best. They're not like a machine gun firing plays every 10 to 15 seconds. They just run it, like I said, average. QB is an athlete but probably would have to fight for the back up position at most contenders (Boyd, TC, & the like). They have one receiver with talent but not a standout on a statewide level. They have a decent defense but again nothing outstanding. To put it bluntly The only reason Wartburg has made it this far is they are having a GREAT year compared to their norm & they are in a weak as water district that the few teams that are generally decent are way down (oliver springs & oneida). Bottom line even with this years improved level of talent in most districts they would barely slide into the play offs & then would be 1 & done. Sorry Dawgs. Just an observation.
  16. Of course cyjacket is back on here. The WEATHER if FAIR again for the coalfield FANS like him.
  17. Don't apologize to that self absorbed piece of monkey hoo. If he is tired of reading about anything on this "blog" that we're all using to make us "feel better about our pathetic lives" then he can take his silver spoon sucker somewhere else. Grace Christian DID cheat, got caught, that's that. Numerous other private schools have been accused, some were caught, some were found at no fault. The problem is the opportunity is there. The fix? If your a private then play in division II where every team has the same advantage of "selecting" the right type of "student" for their team . . . Errr I mean school. That's my opinion & just so you know my parents are still married, they are not on drugs nor have they ever been to my knowledge, they went to public school, they work normal jobs, I went to public school, we have never received any type of "governmental aid", my uncle never "touched" me, I have no problems funding my families needs & wants, I work every day with exception of weekends, & I made just over 6 figures last year. My point? I'm the exact opposite of ole sour puss's post above & I still believe private schools should be made to play in division II. With that being said & the rules being the way they are I'm pulling for Boyd in this one as I stated earlier. PEACE!!!
  18. So pujo, with that being said, are gonna be wearin' a GCA hat with your chiefs jacket Friday night? Just messin' with ya' there pujo. As for the game, this one is all Boyd. My prediction is they'll get it done early & often with a win in impressive fashion. My guess is Hampton would beat Wartburg by 21+. Boyd may win by 35 & hang 50 on 'em.
  19. Oletigger I gotta give u a big "I told you so" on this one. ONE & DONE!!!
  20. Nope! Scott by 4 scoring late to go, and stay, ahead.
  21. C'mon man really? The Spence kid has O.K. speed at best. Yea he's fast for Wartburg but wicked fast, really? Best of luck to the Wartburg crew but if you win a round or two you'll run into "wicked fast" & I don't think anyone on the Bulldog team is gonna like it.
  22. Just playin', sounds like a heck of a game. Best of luck to both squads.
  23. Bwahahahaha Nobody huh? Bwhahahahahaha
