  1. Here is my feelings about Mckamey. He may be a good coach. (If I was able to bring in the best athletic kids year after year from other schools, I'd be a good coach too!). But, I saw it with my own eyes when three assistants came up to the coaching staff of another team and apologized for the attitude Mckamey had and apologized for him calling on-side kicks when they are up 28 points before the half, keping the starting offense and defense both in when the other team has jv playing in the third and fourth quarters of a 35-0 game. I saw the offensive coordinator and 2 other assistants apologizing profusely to the other coaching staff and begging them to not think that he is a reflection of the school. Sounds like a fine upstanding guy Grace has there! I wouldn't let my kid play for him if he and the pastor promised to help with tuition. Wait, don't they already do that?!?!
  2. I watched Tellico Play twice this year and twice last year. They improved ALOT on defense from one year to the next. I think the offensive coordinator for Tellico was a JOKE! It looked like somebody was trying to play Tecmo Bowl from the old NES with that offense. I still have not figured out how a team can drive down the field running the ball and then start throwing the ball once they hit the 20! Both games I watched that happened. that is one area that one person can hurt the team. It seemed like our team knew what they were running before they called it. I hate to see that staff go. All I have heard is how most of the coaches were a class act. If one of Grace's young coaches can make the move, i say send him! put him with taht young guy at Sweetwater, make Monroe County a place to see hard nosed football!
  3. Which assistant from Grace is looking at it? That would be a good addition for a school like Tellico. Look at what the former OC from Grace has done with Greenback. Is that the coach who would bring a former head coach as coordinator with him?
  4. Satterfield and his playing politics cost him a huge upset against Loudon last week. The same goes for this week. It shouldn't matter whose kid is playing, but who the better athelete is. The grumbling has started against the old man! Marsh has showed he definately knows what he is doing. The kids believe in him and listen to him. I say Sweetwater by 10.
  5. With Grace in the outhouse still, the only clear runner for the playoffs in this district is Greenback. With Rockwood, Midway, Harriman, and Tellico all without a district win and at most one win, this district is still wide open for one maybe 2 more to salvage their season and make the playoffs. With that being said, who wins this one? It's at Harriman. Between the two, and let's say the referees call it like they should, who walks away one up in the district?
  6. Well, from what I am hearing about Sequoyah, it sounds like they are teetering on the edge. It's been said that this one and next week (Tellico) will decide if pandemoneum breaks out in Madisonville or a sigh of relief is heard. Sequoyah had some very lofty expectations put on them at the beginning of the season. Two losses, including that gut wrenching loss to Meigs, has the faithful disppearing. This one can go either way. Either the coaches can get the kids back on track and performing like the machine they were "supposed" to be or murmuring will grow louder and the season will trudge on. I think this one will be close, but not sure who to pick. I know nothing about cumberland. We will see!
  7. It's pretty much a given that Players from any school are reading the posts on here. A message to the Sequoyah Players.......don't run around telling people that the game you are playing that week will be a "walk through" for the district before you play it! I heard that from several players leading up to Meigs. That's what got you beat! Now, for the coaches who read this from Sequoyah....stop saying crap like that in front of the players. Everything they say is nothing but a repeat of what they have heard in practice. Meigs County was nothing but counting your chickens before they hatched. Back to the lenoir City Game. After the massive let down from last week and a lack of parental support, Sequoyah's players never fully get their heads up. LC by 3 TD's.
  8. That is really a special honor. I have nothing but the highest respect for that young man. he was real leader. EMotions will be high that night. The only problem isthat it can go either way. They will either be ready to win or the circumstances will be too much of a distraction. I agree with the earlier posts. If they are not 100% focused, it could be an ugly night.
  9. Sequoyah should win this one.....hands down. Too many weapons for Meigs to try and stop. The only way Meigs will keep it close is if Sequoyah lets them have the middle and Meigs runs every play there. As for Sequoyah being on the same level as Polk.....sorry, not this year. Just because Polk has lost the first two does not make them dead. Just injured. Derrick Davis will make sure he at least wins the district. With 70 kids and the metal factor, Sequoyah will not take district this year. Meigs will not either.
  10. No, this season, 2011, with the personel they have, compared to the people they play, Coalfield is a powerhouse.
  11. I believe that if Tellico can contain Davis and force him back inside, they should have alotof success. Every time I watched the kid last year, all of his yardage came from rolling out and then taking off on the outside. I think this is one definately worth going to watch!
  12. Bigc....check out the Class A thread. This discussion has already been started.
  13. I pick Rockwood in this one. Rockwood ALWAYS has a tough running game. They like to run between the tackles. Besides that, their returning Senior Pre Season All State wide receiver comes. I think all that youth in Sequoyahs interior is their achilles heel. I say Rockwood by two touchdowns. Satterfield is a good coach, but Webb has a team that would go through fire for him. Definately Rockwood.
  14. Catchnburn, The game is actually at Tellico. Does change anything?
  15. Well, it's the next chapter in the neverending battle. Who wins and why?
  16. Has an official Pre Season All State List been posted?
  17. I guess Marsh is keeping a tight lip on everything. I called the school last week and asked if there were any scrimmages. i was told then there weren't any scheduled. But, I hear on here that they scrimmaged Greenback and read in the paper they scrimmaged East Ridge? and Wartburg? Sounds interesting.
  18. We haven't heard much but rumors about the blue and gold this year. One thing that is constantly mentioned is Gavin Davis. Is this the work hoarse for Sweetwater, or does he have something to compliment him? Hows the defense looking? O-Line?? Any Scrimmages?
  19. Little leaguers for three quarters, then Central/Sweetwater 4th quarter, Sequoyah/Tellico 5th quarter
  20. Wow. That sounds pretty bad. If Meigs is having to just make it through the first half of the season, something just isn't right! If Holliday is having to bank on the second half of the season to make anything out of it, maybe he needs to work on fundamentals more this season and just simply hope for the best. I was told Tellico simply asked everyone and out of professional courtesy they all agreed. Sounds like Meigs is gonna have a really hard time with all three monroe county teams teams this year. Sequoyah has a strong group coming back, Marsh is building a strong base in sweetwater, and Hunt has an offensive line averaging 280 and a defense that returns all but three. You're right.....Good Luck Meigs! Sounds like you're gonna need it!
  21. The problem with heart isn't just the kids. The adults both in the area and the ones that are standing up in front of them is what is hurting them the most. I know for a fact that Coach(I use that term lightly!) Gilbert resigned from his position as d-coordinator several months before the previous head coach left. He was telling everyone that the kids that were coming up were not near the group that was there in '08 and he did not want to be a part of what was coming. Tell me how a man that has to stand up in front of the very same kids who play and not support them? That first of all tells me that he was in coaching for the WRONG REASONS!!! If a teacher and coach(again, I use that term VERY lightly)will not stick with the team through the low times, what other outside individuals are telling the kids the same thing? Looks like there's alot of attitude changing that needs to be done in Englewood before we go to the school! If the right men can get it into the boys' heads that they can win, Central can make life very rough on Sequoyah, Meigs, and Sweetwater.
  22. Tellico won more games than Central. They also gave Harriman, Greenback, Sweetwater, and Sequoyah fits before imploding in the 4th quarter last year. Besides, Tellico only lost two players from last year. I heard they have had around 46 in the weightroom all winter and all 46 have shown up for spring. Tellico isn't like harriman and other teams in the district that were gutted from graduation. There's probably a surpirse or two coming in the district this year. Last time Tellico was ranked last in the district, they beat everybdy but Harriman and the Grace Cheaters on their way to the second round of the playoffs.
  23. Why not try Tellico? They are just a short bus ride away. That would be a good scrimmage, I do believe!
  24. Maybe he should have waited to win more than 2 games in a season before he started doing whatever he wanted to without asking.
