Score every time you have the ball; that type offense is hard to play catch up with. I'll be surprised if this is a close game after the half. I believe Pirates win by 2 or 3 TD's. They just score too fast, too often. It'll be interesting to see which team handles the weather factor the best. That will have an impact.

I believe I remember a TFP article stating he wanted to play for his Dad at UTC. His Dad felt he need him. With Huessman's Son staring at Baylor at the QB position, Terrell should have given more thought to what might be in store before he agreed to play at UTC. For the record, I also believe he's gotten shafted by UTC. Congrats to him for manning up and doing what the team asks him to do. Starting QB position is only one play away at any time.

I think I'll go with the most feared, ruthless and powerful team in this one. These Grace Phillestines will go down only if TC brings slings and rocks, which they can't. Big City Boys thump the Country Boys in this one.

Head Coach has inherited a Cadallic team; not to difficult to drive one. Long as offense stays mostly vanilla and avoids having to go all neopolitan to often Marion should be fine. This fan hopes so at least. Avoid turnovers and play good defense.........and nock some holes and run fast are always good things too.

I took a look at that stadium on google maps. Looked like a regulation sized football field beside a ugly old ditch in bad need of a big culvert and some fill dirt. Do you ever have an original thought Geno? This upcoming game, if ever played, regardless of who wins, will forever have a giant * beside it. Personally I hope it never happens. Just a sorry state of affairs right now. And no, I don't think MC could or would have thumped TC. One thing's for sure, no one will ever know now. It'll always be just speculation on what might have happened. Right now I don't really care one way or the other. Too much tarnish.

IF Marion plays and loses Friday, this will be the reason, not the excuse. Without this they would have thumped your team. Even with it, they still may get it done. Pressure is all on Trousdale Friday night. Mentally beaten up and practically leaderless team rolls in and eliminates TC from the playoffs. Likely won't even be played but what a story if MC pulls it off.

They're mostly a humble bunch. I don't have to be anymore. Marion County has two quality, talented football teams this year, and a third that is improving nicely. I just call games based on what I have seen this year, and I see both MC and SP advancing past (not passed) this week end without much difficulty. Go SVC football.

Mercy rule game from the kickoff. Pirates could likely make a strong 3A playoff run this year. No problems Friday night except deciding how much playing time starters should get after a week off. Problem of a first round bye and weak early round opponents.

PP, I like what you said and how you said it. About the game, last chance for Boyd fans to howl at the Moon this season as participants. After Friday a few hanger on's will stay around to pull for their two remaining favorite teams, SP and anybody except Marion. MC. Wins, almost as easily as last night. Folks are underestimating this MC team.........again.

Cannot agree with that. IMO, MC would be sitting 10 -0 if they'd played the MTCS schedule. Only thing that keeps this game close is if MTCS forces MC to score on 3 & 4 play per 1st down drives. If the MC backs break long plays it'll be over quick. IF MTCS can throw the ball around effectively things might change; don't sound like they can. Not disrespecting the opponent. My confidence in MC rests entirely on their effort against SP. I expected them to get blown out quickly by SP and they almost did. Came right back and stayed competitive right up until the 2nd half miscue. Just like a person being real careful after a badly stubbed toe, MC won't serve up anyone else that type opportunity soon. Painful but effective learning experience. Besides, Glenn already pointed out, MC runs faster.

Mr. Dillard, as an admitted admirer of all of Glenn's posts and some of yours, I guess it's about time I received one of your "You're full of mess" messages. Just what type box do you think in to have come up with that opinion? On second thought, don't answer that. I probably wouldn't understand anyway and it'd scare me to death if I did. All I meant was I don't particularly like off weeks at any time, especially dislike them at playoff time.
