It’s a sensitive subject that I clearly don’t understand. Is someone thinking that taking kids who do poorly on tests (due to whatever reasons) and sending them to a private school will help them do better on tests? That’s some wishful thinking. Most (not all) kids who perform poorly in the classroom do not have the support outside of the classroom to push them to do better. I’m not sure how changing schools is going to help that unless the new school’s teachers are gonna become heavily involved. Again, I’ve not really kept up with the subject. When is a decision supposed to be made on the transfers being eligible?

I think we are headed to sports moving out of the high schools. Nobody wants to pay for the schools let alone pay for others kids to play sports. Losing the school pride part will stink, but the sports will be a little better. Everybody can play right thru summer. Are there travel tennis teams?

It's not unreasonable at murvil to expect to go from 5 losses to 3. I think thats about a 38% improvement in the number of losses. I'm concerned we are still in some denial. There are schools all over the state with good intentions that are waiting on the difference maker to show up. We may need to uber him to 825. Nellie tuned up?

Good story Barn! The old ball coach left just before I got there. I’ve heard lots of good dad gum stories. Lol. I always enjoyed the one of him showing up in the church choir of a prospective “student” that still holds the 100 dash record for murvil - some 45 yrs later.

The programs have helped each other. The season wouldnt be as good without that game. Go to a couple Alco-Murvil games at each place and it’s easy to see. It’s a semifinal atmosphere when they play. Bragging rights for the year. It’s usually a fairly even game. When it’s over, murvil tries to compete in 6A and alco whips everybody in 2A. Alco has closed the gap a little recently. Great rivalry that has some good old stories.

I’ve heard Ryan Day is meeting some locals at Two Doors Down tomorrow…
