  1. It was winner take-all in the last match at 119, Bradley by 2 pts. Great match; Bradley then forfeits to Soddy in finals.
  2. Not that anyone should care, but I'm about to quit coming to coacht due to the obnoxious pop-ups that blare out their messages, and to make matters worse there's no x box to delete the thing. Can any one give me a quick remedy to this problem before I check out for good.
  3. Many people don't know of the NHSC changes in eligible weight classes for the Nationals- Weight Classes: 103, 112, 119, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 152, 160, 171, 189, 215, 285 There will be one weigh-in for the entire event with a 3-pound weight allowance: i.e. 103 weight class will be 106 pounds ** You may compete at the weight class at which you entered your State's 2010-11 Individual or Dual Meet Championships, a higher weight class or you may wrestle as low as your "Minimum Weight Class" according to the NWCA Optimal Weight Calculator, verified by a hard copy of your schools Alpha Master Report.
  4. Good to see ETSU and MTSU putting wrestlers out on the mat; I just wish Memphis State could do something similar. I believe they had a team during the 70's, at least this is what I was told by some old-timers.
  5. Soddy won this meet due to a much tougher schedule; they've wrestled 7-8 matches this tough or tougher already this year. Simply more battle-tested.
  6. If your last line is correct, sounds like when you throw in MBA, McCallie, and other remaining D-2 teams, then the D-2 State Tournament is the premier tournament to watch.
  7. Are there any bracket results? Please post.
  8. Little confused, does this mean a returning camper prepays $42.50 for camp?
  9. http://rivals.yahoo.com/highschool/blog/prep_rally/post/The-worst-high-school-football-play-ever?urn=highschool-265720
  10. What was the score at the time of the DQ?
  11. Coach Bray, what's this rumor about Brandon going to Baylor? Is it a done deal?
  12. A couple other negatives- 1. The floor/mats looked lumpy, as a result of sitting on top of a dirt floor. 2. The roof leaked onto the D-2 mats Sat morn. 3. I missed the closeness/proximity to the mats (they were simply too far away). 4. Line of sight was more impaired due to lower sitting than UTC (reason why clocks were on the floor; had they been raised, line of sight would have been blocked; this was a problem observed in the State Duals, so actually this was a good adjustment from the Duals) Bottom Line-keep the Duals in Franklin; move the Individual back to UTC, with them fixing their scheduling problems.
  13. No doubt that had they been in a united tournament, they runaway with the team title; it's all about horses and no one has the stable they have.
  14. "I personally wish we (Division I and Division II) were still in one tournament," Red Bank coach Ben Reichel said. "We're one state. We should have one state champion (in each weight class). If they want to continue having separate (team) championships, then keep the scores separately". (from Chat paper this morn) Reichel is right-on-make it one tournament with separate team scoring by div. within the meet. Honestly, who is more proud of their state title- the 1988 state champ or one today that is compared to the other division winner. I don't say to diminish anyone's title from this weekend, but for the true wrestling fan, wouldn't you like to see the possible match-ups between divisions that would make some incredible matches.
  15. If Father Ryan is one of the three top seeds, how did they end up with Brandon in their pool?
  16. Science Hill matches up well with them, and maybe Cleveland; then of course there are 4 teams in d-2 that could compete with them, but let's don't go there. Bears should remain at the top all season.
  17. Anyone have line scores of CBHS over Baylor?
  18. http://www.tssaa.org/Handbook/2008WrCalendar.pdf How else can can you interpret these rules other than to say the wrestling rooms are closed after June 21? Please, if you have a different, but accurate interpretation, let me know so that I can pass it on to other coaches.
  19. My only points were two-fold-1. The TSSAA is making it difficult for Tn residents to get better in the off-season, and 2. after June 22, any HS who has a wrestling room open is in violation of the rules, til schools start back up.
  20. Under the current TSSAA out-of-season practice rules, most kids in our state won't have the opportunity to get better, because there are only 15 days (outside the season) that they are allowed to practice. This applies to ONLY those who obey the rules; there are of course some programs who have hired club coaches, but even then, since most of the practice rooms are located at HS's, and the wrestling room is supposed to be closed, there is very little oppotunity to get better in the off-season, legally. And people wonder why Tn remains behind most of the nation in respectability. I don't believe there is one place in the Knoxville area that a kid can wrestle in the off-season, legally.
  21. Who is the coach or contact person for the event; please include a phone number.
  22. I could not believe some of the scores by the Ga wrestlers against some of our best Tn wrestlers. How did Demitrius Johnson lose by a major? No one will touch him in Tn. Not just him; I am surprised by the margin of scores some of our best boys lost. Is Ga that tough?
