Powell is already 10 - 0 with a bye next week.

Powell 22 Central 20. Central played an excellent game. Powell struggled but still ends the regular season at 10-0. Mobley & Logan played.

Powell 41 Campbell Co 7 Mobley & Logan did not dress out. QB McPhetridge played about half the game. Powell had several turnovers (uncharacteristic of this year's team), but the win clinches first place in the region with only next week's game vs Central at Powell to go before the bye week in week 10.

Clinton was tough tonight. Great player at QB - run and pass. Clinton's lack of depth hurt them in the second half. Powell gave up a touchdown by having the ball stripped from their QB late in second quarter while they were driving deep in Clinton territory. Clinton also came close to scoring at end of first half and mishandled a snap that cost a TD early in third. Powell has several injuries at key offensive positions, but managed enough to win. It was a very exciting game - and the best challenge to Powell so far this season.

Powell defense played great tonight. Karns scored on third team within last two minutes. Powell played entire game without Mobley who was held out due to ankle injury in AC game. Two interception touchdowns - one near end of first half, the other toward the end of the third quarter turned the game. Powell's offense struggled. Give credit to the Karns defensive scheme.

Since the Powell-Oak Ridge football series is in its infancy, not every Powell student appreciates what went on tonight. As a Knox Central Alum from 1963, I know what a respected and successful program the Wildcats have had(and will continue to have). It's a milestone victory for our Panthers - mainly because of Oak Ridge's legendary program. Best of luck to Oak Ridge the remainder of the season.
