  1. Lots of “Law” talk with the Westmoreland program. Seems there was law (enforcement) in the press box in Lafayette last Friday night. Now Law on the field for Westmoreland. Who fought the law? Did the “Law” win? Will the “Law” win?!
  2. How many starters did y’all return in each side? I was thinking it was several.
  3. You don’t get out much. Nobody from our region is close to being a favorite in 2A.
  4. No, you can’t! Of course, it appears some around here want to get rid of the whole staff.
  5. Watertown and Westmoreland always have excellent defenses. Many schools would love to have either DC. History, and scores this year, would tell me Watertown has the better offense. I see this as a field position, which ever offense turns the ball over less game.
  6. No. Some coaches are bad. Bad coaches don’t go to the semifinals consistently. I’m sure their were some fans that were saying “If Creasey was here…” last night. Fans from other good programs laugh at fans for blaming Blake every year. Personal fouls, motion penalties, not having correct personnel in the game, those are on the coach. Criticize away. But tackling? To say the tackling is on this staff is laughable. They didn’t all of the sudden not know how to teach tackling. Athletes tackle athletes. Non-athletes can’t tackle athletes. That’s just the way it is.
  7. Look, I get it. The team isn’t good and someone has to be at fault. Coaches know the deal. If you lose you are going to get the blame. If you win, the players generally get the credit. That’s the way it’s always been, and the way it should be. I realize some people blame coaches because they don’t know any better. That’s understandable. Some, unfortunately, know better and just have a personal axe to grind for numerous reasons. Consider this though. Hasn’t this team been to the semifinals the prior three years? Maybe the coaches suddenly forgot how to coach over the past summer, coincidentally, at the same time as losing 85% of the starting roster. Yeah, some assistants have come and gone, but the core of coaches is still there. And say what you want about Eden, he is an upgrade that can coach. High expectations are a good thing to have in a football town, but reasonable logic instead of emotional reactions might clear the waters.
  8. My father in law said y’all had an extra point blocked and a kick off return for a touchdown against you. Said your defense was the only thing kept you in the game. Is that not correct?
  9. Come on man. It's always the coaches' fault.
  10. Gordonsville never said "Smith County". Carthage.
  11. This thread reminds me of when the group is making fun of someone and that person doesn’t realize it.
  12. Gotcha. I figured Uppercumberlandman was a supporter. I have no issue with Upperman and their program. I’m truly happy to see their program where it is.
  13. I didn’t say you were wrong about the crowds. Just said I’m not about to learn…
  14. I’m not about to learn anything. I’ve been around here a lot longer than you.
  15. I’m sure East has some excellent athletes. We have been hearing that for some time on the creek bank.
  16. Yeah I’m familiar with the walking trail along the road in South Carthage. I know there was a tragedy near there in the 40’s where an entire family was killed by a train.
  17. It was tongue in cheek. Where were the train tracks in Carthage? I know Gordonsville had an active train not many years ago. Don’t know if it still runs.
  18. I’m surprised Portland never stole their train whistle back from Carthage.
