Thanks for asking. He has one D2 offer right now and around 8-10 D2 schools looking at him and 6-8 D1 schools. He got his qualifying ACT score and is working hard on maintaining his Core 16 GPA. He obviously isnt a Rivals 100 guy but he can play at that next level. We are just trusting God that he has the right path for him laid out. Connor has told all schools he will wait and be an April signee so that will natuarally delay some offers. I hope you understood my post about T Key. It was positive. These young men have so much pressure and expectations on them. I just hope people support all the Keys and Slims of the world and help them celebrate in their accomplishments. I meant class of 2014 season 2013. Just said it wrong. All I know is from 2010 to 2014 classes nobody wanted to play us. We just couldnt get out of our own way in the big ones. Two semi implosions and a year of probation in between (10-0) best team ever. But my boy and his classmates of 2013 lost 5 games I think in 4 years counting playoffs 2009-2012. We have dropped off some no doubt but we are still pretty good and we will get back. Sweetwater and AE can just go ahead and overlook us

You know what is amazing to me? A D2 and Low Major education is about 75K to 125K and all anybody talks about is High D1 it seems. This years LMU team could beat half the SEC. This years 2017 TN class has some ballers. And as far as this thread goes......Tyreke Key just locked up a 105k education room and board. Pretty dang impressive young man. Now go get you some!

Idiotic thread .....GCA is doing fine, rebuilding the talent pool but that happens. Look at the facilities it wont be long and the middle school team was a boss this year with 30+ 8th graders. Probably biggest football class in history. Best QB in Middle School league. Pride and I would rather ask the question of Roane County, where do all the Tax paying dollars go? Their stadiums and schools have looked the same since The Clinton years or more..... GCA has some humble quality leaders in place now and a culture change is going on.....but we never apologize for wanted to win.....every time and anywhere. Get some while you can the machine is rebuilding. Except Basketball.....it's there now and expectations are high! 💪ðŸ¼ðŸ€

Luke Smith (Catholic) played lights out this summer. Shane has a pretty complete team at CAK this year. Jody always coaches up some talent at Fulton. I agree with Q. I agree on A picks as well. I want to mention Van Buren as a contender from the East side well kinda SouthEastMiddle LOL.... The Mills kid is a good player. And Indiana St commitment Tyreke Key will have Clay County right there at the end. Memphis is the favorite as usual in A but hoping GCA gets over the hump this year. Slim's last shot. I know less about AAA but Crocket should still be pretty good. Science Hill has athletes. Baseball fans need to spend some time traveling around Knoxville this year. There are some good players in the area to watch at GCA, Catholic, Maryville, Farragut, Beardon, Fulton. Oak Ridge and others.

Thanks for the compliment to GCA and Arnold. Looking forward to this year. My last year as a sports dad (in HS anyway) Oldest playing last year of football at Centre College and hoping Slim gets to play Ball at next level, but hoping his last HS year is special. We have a good team at GCA, just need to get over that hump, get back to state and get to the championship game. Nothing less is the goal. All the normal players will have something to say about that (Clay County, Van Buren, Meigs, Hampton, Cosby, Harriman and the West TN Teams) I know out non-conference schedule is brutal for a 2-A school and that is a good thing. Beardon, Webb, CAK, Taylor County KY, Lebanon Thanksgiving Tourney, Moritz Christmas Tourney in Ft. Worth TX.....Lot's of good ball coming. Go Rams I do think Harriman will be better than Meigs this year in district, but never doubt Sammy as a coach. He is so good.....ZY is ZY....and Meigs kids have swagger and mojo. Here we go again.....

Wont happen we graduated zero starters got every starter back and added 6-9 post to this team. Yes we lost some quality kids in those 6 seniors but none started consistnetly or owned a spot like the underclassmen did. So I like our chances NOT to visit Hampton.....we went 20-2 in Summer league (June) Team Camps

He isnt even a top 5 player in Tennessee in 2017 class for hoops. Nothing against him but I can think of 8 guys in TN I wouls sign first. Good player but......put him in East Tennessee and see if anyone says the hype. West Tennessee gets it all. And maybe rightfully so.

I am a homer I know on this but gotta add Mike Doig from GCA to this list. He has been in Tennessee 3 years now and has had 2 quarter and 1 Seni Final trips to state. Thats 3 for 3 in 3 years. I agree with Aaron Green,Shane Wells and Jody Wright as other top coaches. I also think South Greenes girls coach is a great coach.
