  1. Speaking of "know-it-all" fans...someone needs to get a life!
  2. Classic!! I used to love staying up with my folks to watch Johnny. He was the best!! Dolly sure looked young back then!
  3. Huh?! Let me get this straight...I call out a guy who says, and I quote... "both teams are overrated! my ensworth tigers would mop both of these teams!!!" and I'm a know-it-all because I defended these teams? Whatever.... Go Bulldogs!!
  4. 4THNINCHES... BUSTED!!! Take your trash talk back to Ensworth little man so you can run and hide behind those recruits you tutor for...
  5. Vols football team replaced by Maryville High football team This article should end all arguments about who is better...Maryville or 7AAA! Evidently, Maryville is even better than the Vols! Pretty funny...
  6. Don't forget Walland in '75...Blount county has 3 teams who have won the gold ball.
  7. Thanks for the info BF2! Glad to hear they may have found some rhythm and may be starting to hit on all cylinders. I had heard they had been a little "off" for most of the season, so I'm glad to hear they looked sharp this past week. Especially glad to hear about the QB play...had been counting on great things from him, he's got a heck of an arm. I sure would love to catch a double-header in Cookeville in a few weeks! (If Milan and Maryville get to Cookeville, you need to come watch Maryville. Maryville looks like Alcoa did last year...an unstoppable machine. They are loaded with talent and are a lot of fun to watch. Very exciting offense...line kills people (never seen the number of pancakes these guys have!), QB is awesome, so is sophomore RB. Defense gets after it, very physical...line play getting better each week.) I've seen Alcoa a couple of times this year...they are definitely not as strong as last year. They looked pretty good against Maryville, but seemed to fall off after that. CAK beat them pretty good a couple of weeks ago. Will be anxious to see the re-match, I'd say Alcoa will come at them with all they've got. Should be a great game if it plays out. Go Dawgs!
  8. Well, I can promise you this, Milan won't care if they beat a 10-4 Alcoa team or a 14-0 Alcoa team in the championship game...they just want to BEAT them! However, neither team seems to have had a typical Milan or Alcoa season so far, so I have my doubts whether either team will make it to Cookeville, especially my boys from Milan. However, they are both 1-0 now in the playoffs, so anything can happen. Alcoa is still the defending champ, so until someone knocks them off, I'd say they are the favorite to win it all again. CAK will have something to say about it in the next round if they both win this week. Come on Dawgs, keep it going and put it on the Chargers this Friday!
  9. Yes, Milan allows season ticket holders to go up and grab their same seats up until game time (after paying the TSSAA gate fee, of course). They have police checking season ticket passes at the bottom of the stairs of each section until 7pm, then it's first come, first serve after that. Works pretty well...wish it was that way here. I know we have season tickets here in Maryville instead of season passes, but I'm sure there could be an extra ticket printed in the back of the book to use as a pass in the playoffs.
  10. Keep it rolling Dawgs...the field in 3A is wide open this year! Take care of your business on Friday!
  11. Do you know if Nunn and Coleman will be back for the Westview game?
  12. Something tells me APB might add a few more headstones to this picture in future... Who's will it be???
  13. Nice win Wildcats! Good luck next Friday.
  14. You earned respect with this post RIVERDALEMAN. Good luck next Friday.
  15. Guess what folks...when someone starts spouting off about Maryville on a different thread, sometimes we like to come out and play!
  16. Oh wow...another nice MJ fan. So far you guys are impressing us with your wisdom and hospitality!
  17. yes...back to your regularly scheduled program. sorry about the hi-jack...RUNNINBLIND was evidently living up to his name and needed a little feedback from the folks in the east.
  18. You're right, Maryville is pretty down this year. Sounds like you've done your research and have us figured out. Best of luck.
  19. Maryville folks would congratulate you on a job well done, that's what.
  20. :roflolk: Now that's funny, I don't care who you are! Also, I agree with the other posts on here as well regarding the coaching in Blount county. My son only had 1 year here in the pee wee leagues before moving on to the middle school and it was a great experience. The men that put in the time to coach these kids just blows me away. I respect the heck out of these guys for what they do! Coming from a situation where it was the dads that coached for a couple of years here and there until their son moved on, I can greatly appreciate what we have here!
  21. SS - Good luck to Oak Ridge in the playoffs. I hope you guys are back to full strength. Would love to see you all take on Riverdale in a couple of weeks...and then maybe another Maryville-OR rematch!
  22. We need to continue this discussion another week...you're causing some of us to chomp at the bit to see a Riverdale-Oak Ridge and/or Maryville match-up! We've been bored around here lately with all the blow-outs! Thank the Lord the pre-season is over...the regular season is finally here!
  23. Well, it looks like the stakes for the Maryville-Alcoa middle school game just went up. Last night, MMS lost to Sevier County 12-8. Was a great game, very physical, both defenses played well. Unfortunately, my son is out for the season...fractured his arm on a run at the end of the first half. First loss for MMS in 26 games. Maryville must now beat Alcoa to have a shot at the championship game. As if playing Alcoa wasn't enough motivation, it just got kicked up a couple of notches!
  24. Since you insist on being accurate... In the 2008 state title game, Maryville lost to Hillsboro 10-7. They were not "whipped" by Maplewood...didn't even play them. Maryville actually "whipped" Maplewood in the 2007 state title game, 28-13.
  25. We need him over at Maryville...evidently GQ needs to be told how to take a knee on first down beginning in the 2nd quarter! We've got a whole therapy session going on over on the Maryville-Oak Ridge thread because we "ran it up" on Heritage Friday night! Makes me want to puke!
