  1. Mountainair: Being a Baylor basketball parent, I agree with you about McCallie's team. Wonder how they would be if they played the kids that played on the team since middle school. Oh that's right, they either quit or warm the bench since all of the Atlanta transfers came to McCallie.
  2. Columbia won't know what hit them after the game! Baylor's still mad about the loss to Brentwood and will take it out on Columbia. Baylor by 21.
  3. Baylor's kicker is a senior. This is only his 2nd year of football and he only kicked off last year, no fieldgoals. He's a great weapon to have! Hopefully, colleges are hearing about him and he gets some interest.
  4. Baylor by 21. Baylor's O-line is huge and athletic. Oellerich has it all, run and pass. Red Raiders have 3 unbelievable running backs who run hard. If Baylor plays their game, it shouldn't be close. However, after a great comeback, Father Ryan was one missed pass away from an upset last year. Hopefully, Baylor coaches haven't let the team forget that.
  5. smeagle1, I can't speak for McCallie, but I know why Baylor won't play SM. Why would we want to play you after the spring scrimmage last year? Baylor's team and coaches have too much class to play you again. Also, Baylor's coach does not condone fighting at all, unlike Price. Baylor's coaches would sit some kids for awhile. I loved Price's quote in the papaer on Sunday that the fight was a "good scuffle". That explains the reason SM fights. If he threatened to sit the players who fight, maybe they would think twice about doing it again. Baylor scrimmages Soddy every year and there has never been a fight. Think about it? Any fight that has been talked about in the last 2 years, SM has been involved.
  6. Has anyone seen the Chattanooga Times paper today? Front page has a story about several Signal Mtn. football players who were cited for underage drinking after the Boyd Buc game. Rumors were swirling the next day about this but the football coach and principal are claiming the have JUST heard about this? Is it a coincidence that they just heard about this AFTER the State Championship? I don't think so. I guess the parents just found out about it AFTER the championship too? Several of these players were starters, but I guess winning at any expense is more important than teaching your son a lesson? Enjoy your tarnished championship because you'll have a difficult time getting back there next year.
  7. IF it is true about the number of tickets that can be sold at a playoff game, that just means more people to watch a BIG RED victory on our beautiful "field behind Walmart"!!! Everyone's welcome to come watch.
  8. Bluemom....Why would Baylor even think about playing at Finley? Playing on our home turf in a true high school football playoff setting is much more important to us than $$$$$. This is ALL about what's best for the teams not the fans.
  9. smeagle... I don't believe I said anything about being "small, weak, or undersized"! Haven't seen much of a true running game out of SM and think you will need that if you make it to finals. The only competition you had in the season was SP. You've played middle school teams for the last 4 weeks and will find out Friday what competition is. I'm on your side, just anxious to see if SM will be ready?
  10. Are you counting kickoff and punt returns in those 300+ yards/game? Like I said, a strong defense will cause SM problems.
  11. Been to several Signal games and think this game will be closer than Signal fans think. If FC has any defense at all, should cause SM problems. They don't have a very strong running game and depend on pass WAY too much! SM hasn't played a strong team since SP and I think they will start off sluggish. Will they respond or fall apart like last year's playoff game?
  12. How good will this game be?
