  10. If I may add to this, questioning the ref generally leads to bigger problems---resenment toward the wrestler, resentment toward the coach, deduction of team points or being thrown out all together. Furthermore, it has been made perfectly clear by ALL of the refs that what they say goes, no matter if they are right or wrong. We had the same problem over the weekend at the same Region 1 tournament. Not the same ref, but the same sort of situation. Sadly, we saw that ref make terrible calls throughout both days. I will say that at our regualr duel tournaments, that it is very frustrating to see bad officiating, but when it comes to Regionals and State, it is downright heartbreaking. I say, if you can't do the job you are paid to do to the best of your ability, then don't take the job!
  11. 182 Morristown West is Marcum. Matthews is 195.
  12. I always say the same words prior to each of my son's matches: Dear God, please, keep him safe. Guide him to be smart, wrestle strong and if it is your will, a win.
  13. These kinds of tournaments are expensiveand not everyone can afford to go to them. My son would have loved to have went, but when you factor in registration, gas, shelter and food it's just too much.
  14. Attention all business owners, managers, crafters and vendors: the Morristown West Takedown Wrestlers are asking for your help! We are having a car show to raise money to buy singlets and a new wrestling mat (our old was vandalized and now has several tears). We are looking for businesses or individuals who would be interested in setting up a booth to sell or advertise your goods. The cost is $20 ........................and all sales you make that day are your own! We are also looking for donations to add to our silent auction. This is a great way get you name/product out there and it also helps our team! Also, if you have a great vehicle or motorcycle that you want to show off, bring it on down, $20 per vehicle entered! Attached is a link to our flyer, please check it out--all the wrestlers and parents really would appreciate all you can do! http://www.mhhswwrestling.org/resources/Morristown%20West%20Wrestling%20Car%20Show%20flyer%20final.pdf
  15. Such a mess. Too much for one man to deal with. Hopefully this will work out in the end and these kids will have a chance to get out there and do what they love!
  16. Is there a way to change my username? Thank-you.

  17. Huge loss for Morristown West. Now they have no coach...so what now? There are some talented kids there, without a great coach they will never get anywhere!

  19. The tournament will include all three styles. First period folkstyle, second freestyle and if needed the third will be Greco. It will be best two out of three.
  20. Takes 5 players to win a ball game. Takes one wrestler to put you on the mat. Only someone who can't or is afraid to wrestles says wreatling is not a sport. Maybe he should put up or shut up!
  21. He does not mean sleeves on a shirt. He is talking about a sleeve like a a knee slide, but for the arm. Not really an elbow pad or sleeve, but a compression that covers most of the arm. My link This is what he is talking about. Thanks.
