  1. Great pitchers are like quarterbacks you have to be able to put mistakes and plays behind you. The Riverdale pitcher is a great one and has gotten to this point by her mental toughness. I personally do not know her but I am sure she will move on and be great once again vs. Coffee county. One pitch does not define a season or what type of pitcher you are.

  3. Fridays game will be one where players and coaches on both sides respect one another. Riverdale does not boast or brag or make promises, they just get the job done. I suggest (hint, hint alltheway2013) you take a page from their book. It will be a great game that I hope to be able to attend.
  4. Congrats to both teams on a game well played. The pitchers put on a clinic on mixing speeds and locations. Both defenses made great plays. Soddy and nunley were as good as billed and coffee found a way to win. Did not get their until fourth inning but still got my money worth and then some. Good luck to both teams come Friday/Saturday.
  5. All the pitchers listed are very talented physically but what seperates them from the rest of the field is their mental toughness in the circle. Had the opportunity to see Meagan Prince this summer, she is a solid pitcher that any team would love to have. She will be a force to be reckoned with over the next couple of years.
  6. The only problem is that the 14U Nationals will be at 40 feet, where as most girls will have pitched and hit at 43feet since Fall of 2010 to the end of High School 2011.( referencing Tn) Once the high school season ends in Tn the 14u will play for two months @ 40ft go to Nationals and then move up to 16u at 43ft. Many coaches are torn in between due to the jumping back and forth. I hate to rob the girls at chance at Nationals and that experience but at that same time I feel like it is important to stay focused on preparing these girls for the future in High School and college as well, just my thoughts. I know in Ga they play a fall schedule so those girls would have the luxury of being at 40ft from Jan to August and not have to jump back and forth. Good Luck to all that are trying to qualify and those that have. Represent Tn well!
  7. Good Luck to all those listed, enjoy these high school days, these are the best of times. Hopefully this will not be the end of the line but just another stepping stone to reaching your goals.
  8. Could not agree more, nic, many people do not understand the time and effort and sacrafices these girls put into this. In my opinion high school is just a warm up for the aau season and that is when it is showtime. The play of many of these girls will be at a totally different level when they are surrounded by girls that are of equal or better. Lets pull for our Tennessee players to do well instead of telling them why they can not play here or there.
  9. I would like to introduce everyone to Wilson25, defender of all that is good in Chattanooga softball. It is my job to trash any team but Soddy and Ooltewah softball. My very existence is defined by how many trips to the state softball tournament my team has achieved. I am considered worthy of the softball gods because I have fulfilled my destiny here on earth by letting everyone know who has been to the state and who has not recently. I love basking in the glory of other failures which lifts me up higher and and makes me happy because without Soddy and Ooltewah softball I have no success in life. I am Wilson25!
  10. Lets not let Wilson25 hijack the post, the season should come down to if CC can defeat Soddy or Riverdale to make it to the state. Both games last year were very close with the Rdale game coming down to the last out. If memory serves me correctly Soddy did not exactly steamroll CC. All three teams are very good and should be proud of what they have accomplished. Their are many teams in the state that would love to have the success that the Coffee County Softball program has had. Success is not always measured in the size of a trophy or winning a state championship but in the development of these ladies that will benefit them in life and if along the way you make it to state then thats is just icing on the cake. Wilson25 I am with you I think that just because Coffee County has not made state since 2000 they should quite posting, people should quit supporting and consider disbanding the softball team! NOT
  11. It is exciting to see the results of many years of committment, dedication and hard work that these girls ( and parents) have given to reach this point. Congratulations to the parents and daughters of all those listed. The journey to this point is the real prize and I am sure the bonds and life lessons that have been gained along the way are invaluable. It is awesome seeing the local colleges and universities recognizing the talent that this state has to offer.
