  1. Lake Co. Wins 89 to 85! LC is back in the Boro for the 3rd straight year!
  2. Murray handed LC their rear ends tonight 36-6. The falcons have along way to go. This team has talent and good coaching but shows no emotion. The offense seem out of sync as it has all fall. Believe it or not the defense played pretty well tonight. I know 36 points were given up but the defense was put in some really bad situations. Murray only had around 225 yards total offense but the falcons could only muster around 180 yards. Several bad snaps threw the timing of the offense off. The falcons can still get it together and they will have to. Seems like Union City and Trenton have real good ball teams this year. Humboldt is Humboldt. South Fulton looks improved as does Halls. The injury bug has hit LC extremely hard this year. Two more falcons were injured tonight. Hopefully it's nothing to serious. Depth has become a serious issue and some younger players are going to have to step up if the falcons want to contend for a district title. LC needs to put this game behind them and focus on Fulton Co this week.
  3. Union City will win this game big. UC and Huntingdon look to be top two teams in 1-A football in West TN this year.
  4. Come on man. Memphis kids jump from school to school. You know it and I it. Every year kids jump to different schools in Memphis. The TSSAA does not police Memphis very well at all. Stokes was a different animal. You cannot tell me that every year multiple familes move into the correct "zone". Westwood did not have a 7 foot player on roster last year. He is a junior so he went to a different school last year. You said 4 players transfered to Westwood. I highly doubt all those players families moved to Westwood's zone. That type of thing goes on in Memphis all the time. Like I said, YOU KNOW IT AS DO I. You seem to be very knowledgeable, but you also seem to be in denial about this situation.
  5. It is not that Memphis teams keep winning because they have just talent everywhere. When 4 or 5 studs can all go to one school what do you expect? Of course, that team is going to be a power. If the TSSAA would set up zones and declare specifically what middle schools fed where then the talent would be spread out and you might not be seeing as much dominance as you do now. Granted, Memphis is a hot bed for high school basketball but I would like to see a zone for each school to see how everything would really shape up. Memphis schools have a strangle hold on triple A basketball in Tennessee. Not so much in double A. Certainly not single A.
  6. I am fully aware that BTW has a very solid basketball tradition. I have no theory at all. I was going off the fact that most single A basketball teams cannot lose 9 players and be as good as the year before. In Memphis that can happen due to kids being able to transfer schools and not have to sit out for a year. In my humble opinion that is no different than what the D2 privates do.
  7. I know who Newby is. Spencer, I have heard about. The thing about Memphis schools that gets overlooked, is the fact that every year kids move from one school to another without any recourse. Other schools do not have that luxury. It's not a fair system but it is the system we have. I am sure that Westwood and Btw have good teams but you are overlooking Humboldt , Lake County, Union City and Middleton. BTW better win the region and play at home in the sub state. I hope you keep on overlooking Middleton. I am not taking offense to any thing you say. It's all in fun. I am simply trying to tell you that single A teams in the west are very strong. Ask Liberty and South Side fans about little ole Lake County. Good luck to BTW, I hope my falcons have a chance to play them. Westwood is in for a dog fight with TCA. Newby no doubt could play for any team in the state but BTW could not and would not play with 3a teams. Sorry, would not happen. If that was the case BTW would have chosen to stay 2A or move up to 3A. They did not have to drop to 1A. They chose to make that move because they could not get by Liberty or Bolivar. Don't even get me started about BTW playing teams like Southwind or Ridgeway.
  8. You obviously are not to familiar with Westwood. Westwood had a lot of players returning from a state tournament team the year before last year. They lost several players off last year's sub state team, so, they can not be much more loaded. So, how about you get your facts straight. Just come on up to Humboldt or Tiptonville and you will see how tough it is to win in class A. You have one of the weakest schedules in class A and single A basketball in Memphis is just as weak as single A basketball anywhere in the state. It is no comparison what so ever to double A(which is ruled by Liberty and Bolivar in the west NOT a Memphis team. Triple A in Memphis is by far the best in state. So, you sir need to get a brain.
  9. Are you kidding? Did Westwood not lose to Lake Co. last year? Yes, they did. AAA talent? Did BTW not lose to AA Bolivar last year? Yes, they did. All I can say is win your region because you do not want to come to LC or Humboldt for a sub-state game.
  10. Not sure what all they have returning, but Westwood looked good last year when we played them in the substate game. Also, I think Middleton beat Humboldt already this year, so they would have to be mentioned as well.
  11. I know this is the football board, but you brought basketball up. Lake Co. needs time to get ready for you? Union City? The Union city team that got beat by about 32 in the district tournament and had Cisco crying on the bench! lol. The last thing we need is time to get ready for Union City our football players that play B-Ball would not even have to play to beat Union City. The girls really, we both know that Union City has no chance. no matter, how good you think your girls have gotten.
  12. Refs tried to give LC game. Now , that's fuuny. LC had 12 penalties to UC 5. Anyway, UC won good luck next week.
  13. Outcoached? That is laughable. Lake County beat themselves by turning the ball over. We put the ball on the ground 6 times and lost 1. The coach can not control if the kid fumbles the ball or not. He had the gameplan to stop Hyde and it worked in the first half. Union City made adjustments but the LC coach was still calling the Union City's plays. The players just could not make the stops. The UC coach made the dumbest coaching decisions I have ever seen tonight and luckly got away with it. Onside kick everytime giving up that much field position and going for it on your on 30 yard line. That is neither here nor there, UC did enough to win the game that LC just flat out handed you. So do not get on here talking about someone being outcoached. I am making no excuses but it is what it is. Congrats to UC on the win.

  18. No, you are wrong Lake County does not care who gets put in Quad 4. We will strap them up and the better team will win, it is that simple. No one from Lake thinks the road is easy possibly having to play Union City again which is a rivalry and always a tough game for both teams. Lake Co. didn't cry when Perry got moved to Quad 4 last year, we just played and the better team on that night won. There is no reason to cry it is football you play who is put before you and leave it all on the field. If your the better team on that particular night you will win, if not, your season will be over. The playoff system will never be completely fair because every year the teams change one year quad 3 might be stacked and the next it could be quad 4. This year it happens to be Quad 3. So quit complaining and whining over it and get ready to watch some good play-off football.
  19. He was referring to the fact it would be a classic 1A game meaning a true 1A game with 2 teams that have a lot of tradition. We realize that Huntingdon is 1A now under the new classification but you are probably the biggest 1A school in Tennessee. You have had 1 good year since you been in 1A , so don't go beating your Chest. Huntingdon is having a great year so congrats but isn't Lake County the same team that sent you packing last year. I am not saying that Lake County is going to make it to Cookville but Huntingdon hasn't made it yet either, so before I started disrespecting teams on here , I would make sure that mine did something other than have a great regular season first.
  20. That is where you are wrong, Lake County wouldn't cry or care if Huntingdon, Perry, or anyone else for that matter was in quad 4. We would just play the game and give them our best shot. And if we were better team we would win if not we would lose, it is that simple. Perry and Huntingdon was both in quad 4 last year and not one person from Lake County complained or cried. The system is flawed I totallly agree but everyone knew the guidelines, so, how everything fell should be no surprise.
  21. I understand that a lot of 1A schools will not schedule them and it is a major disadvantage as far as seeding goes in this playoff system, but should help prepare you better for your annual run.
  22. His post is not directly about basketball. He is proving the point that no matter what system you use there will be flaws. Some districts are tougher than others that is just life. South Pitt's district is extremely weak and all South Pitt fans know it. I understand that is why South Pitt schedules the way they do, but under this current playoff system it is a huge disadvantage to do so.
  23. ToeDigger, go look at the video and look at the guidelines. It does not have to be fair it is what it is. It is done by geography first, your record has no impact on what quad your in. Your record and district standing only impacts your seeding. You may not like this but these are the guidelines the TSSAA follows and I highly doubt that the guidelines are set not to be followed. Geography is the only criteria that factors in when the quads are being made.
