I know there players have displayed poor sportsmanship and poor attitudes in years past. If this is true it sounds like the same this year. I heard it was all coming from the coaches. Players attitude will reflect the coaches attitude 99% of the time. Either way this looks to be an entertaining game. May the best team win and this be an injury free game.

Dosent get worse than the playoff loss... I love my Hornets no matter what but if im being completely honest, SGC got out manned in this one. Westview was too big, too strong. They did what ever they wanted. Our guys couldnt really help it. With that said, were a pretty young team and with any young team there is inconsistency. They weren't executing tonight but I feel like there was a lot of good things to learn from in this one. Our schedule doesnt get any easier from here so gonna have to bare down, get better, and come to play next week! #HornetNation

I think 42-21 is a pretty fair prediction with TCA pulling away late.

TCA has a heck of a team. The problem with westview was that we got physically dominated by a bigger stronger team. Theres no other way to put it. SGC is thin and quick on defense so i think itll be a pretty good match up. My prediction is that TCA wins it, but I think SGC puts up a fight. The Hornets have depth in the secondary so I look for them to sub often and try to keep fresh legs on the field. We may see lots of young guys come in and try to keep some of our play makers fresh for offence. Gonna be a good one.

Crockett is outstanding. D-burg, Sgc, Westview are somewhere in the middle Milan and obion are at the bottom for now. sgc westview will be decided here in a couple days. After this week I think well have a pretty good EARLY picture as to where eeveryones at.

While yes, I think CC will win this game, im not so sure i would just up and count milan out. This Milan team has just lost the first 2 games. Im pretty sure theyre hungry for a win. And when you combine that hunger with a winning program and winning coaches, you cant count them out. If CC comes in and thinks its gonna be an easy win, i foresee an upset. Like BIGPURPLEMACHINE said, if milan looses this game its gonna be very tough for them to make the playoffs and those kids in purple know that. I still think crockett will win this one but if milan pulls out a win, i wont be shocked. That said, I dont like milan. Im an SGC alum, follower, and supporter.

I agree. Huge game for both teams. SGC's defensive interior is thinner than in years past which could be a problem against a strong team coming out in a power I. Should be a fun one to watch.

Glad to have company!! last year i was the only hornet fan on here till Noah came on toward the end of the year! at least now ill have some back up on milan week. lol

As for the Westview game, I have to thing we're favored but im with you in thinking that itll end up close. I still have to think our guys will pull it out though. Im gonna say 27-20 sgc

I think the coaches have done a great job yet again. What we have is a team full of solid players who are team focused. There is no superstar who gets the ball on every play, theres 4-5 guys that will carry the ball. Elder, Lashlee, Calderon, Reed, Jordan cobb, Hayden, ect. all are solid players that can hurt you and because there are so many of them, opposing teams will be facing fresh legs every snap. And from the look of the sophomores the other night, i think we can expect to see the same thing for years to come. However, when we hit the toughest part of our schedule, I look for Arain Reed to step up as a star on offense. Coach hasent had to show his hand yet this year but when we face the tougher teams that will change. The defense has has been amazing so far. holding a very good camden team to only 20 and only 3 against a great offense in Chester co. (the touchdown came against the jv defense at the very end.) Im excited about this team and theyre only gonna get better.

True. Though we did beat them in the playoffs last year (soccer) itll take a couple years to get back strong as it was. Crockett is really good though. Any who, this is the other football. lol

Moving from Milan to SGC? im surprised thedawg44 and co. didnt run him outta town with a torch and pitchfork! lol I hate to see this get outta hand though. I love a heated rivalry but the kids need to learn when to draw the line.

That kid deserves a shot at somewhere big. Ive only seen him play 3 times since hes since hes on the other end of the state, but he is unreal. Someone call Butch Jones. If he wants to get some Rocky Top faithful behind him, give the states best qb a shot.

I agree with what youre saying. Every time quincy got the ball we knew there was a chance for a touchdown and carlos could turn a 1yd loss into a 15yd gain at anytime. But at times we were boom or bust on offense. It was a 60yd td or punt. We got better at consistantly moving the ball as the year progressed. Im hoping that going foward we get better at taking it 1 first down at a time. I also feel that next year and in years to come we will be much deeper, talent wise, at the skill positions. Most of the athletes comming up are bigger and stronger with not quite as much speed as guys like quincy so hopefully that will bring more stability to the o as well.

I think some of the athletes sgc has will suprise people. They may not have as big big-play ability as the waldens did but theyre good and there is alot of em. More than i realized and a lot of them will be soph. and junior. So I dont think theyll scrap the offense; itll still be the triple-option, i think theyll throw the ball more an may spread the field more. Hayden is a more acurate passer than carlos and he can run too. Only time will tell what these two teams can do going foward. I hope Milan vs. SGC next year is as good as it has been the past 2 (regular season) games.

There really arent any push-overs in this district. I agree crockett will be strong next year. Milan will reload and be pretty good, and dyersburg will be strong. Obion probably will still be down and westview solid. South Gibson could honestly finish last or could finish in the top two or three if not win it IMO. There are a lot of good players comming up and already had a guy move her from MO to play at sg who is supposed to be a real playmaker. Qb will be better than everyone expects, and returning most of the players on a solid defense. The 2 big question marks are o-line and rb. The athletes are there so im not really worried about rb, but the oline is losing 4 starters and i feel like there will be a good drop-off in talent. They might be undersized as well. My prediction is they finish around .500 with alot of sohpemore and juniors playing. As for Milan, Im guessing Booth will be one of the primary backs nex year? I know they have a couple of lineman thatll be pretty good next year as well. Any speculation on who the Milan Qb will be next year??

First off, congrats to both Milan and Covington for making it to the state championship game this year from this district. But everyone crawls back into their caves until next season let's take a look into what next year holds for each team in the newly modified district 13-AA. The teams included are: Milan Westview Crockett South Gibson Dyersburg Obion So just tell us what you know about the future of your team. Players graduating, future stars, future areas of strength/weakness, transfer students, future projections, or really just anything to do with this district and its teams.

They'll be better off IMO.

Sounds a lot like sgc. We have 4 seniors (i tink one may be out for the season) and 0 juniors. But quite a few of the many freshmen and sophemore can flat out play, they just need some experiance. Theres some pretty good middle school talent comming up also. I hope gc keeps us on the non district schedule next year cause it sounds like the two will make for a great match up in years to come.
