  1. I'm glad somebody finally pointed out that you can play up but you can't play down. I don't think the TSSAA is overly fond of us judging from the reaming out that some of us took after the game by the head guy. I'm fairly certain they wouldn't allow us to play for the championship in a class they didn't put us in. Just sayin'. My son watched the Trousdale thugs trying to start a fight and watched them get escorted out. I'm sure the "slapper" was the same young Signal kid who supposedly attacked and spit on a little old lady and her little bitty defenseless grandson. He must have dressed up as an adult so he could slap some kid and get away with it. I guess all these brainless rumors won't stop until a certain team's fan base picks up their collective lower lip and moves on to next year. I'll bet their players are moving on and looking forward. Perhaps the rest should.
  2. Hmm, 46 degrees and rainy. If so I'm doubting the mercy rule will be in effect. As dry as the season has been I don't think either team will have a wet field advantage. If it's anything but a drizzle it will be interesting to see which team adjusts the best and quickest. Hoping the wet field doesn't bring about any injuries. I'm still thinking Signal Mtn. will edge TCA but it won't be by much. It will be a hard fought game with some slippery mistakes but Signal will win 28 to 14. Break out the ponchos.
  3. Carry the torch for us Friday, Troll. Lots of us would love to watch "Signal South" on Thursday and SP on Friday. I'd have to take off work Friday then come back and load everybody on Saturday morning for the return trip. Gotta save my energy and voice for Saturday. Be sure and welcome all the TC boys with open arms Saturday morning. I'm sure they'll be sitting on our side cheering us on. Might even give the eagle a big ole hug.
  4. Good Luck SP! All the Eagles are pulling for ya'll! Had a great time at your place this year. It'll be hard to match the electricity of your place but we'll try next year as hopefully two State Champs battle it out on the Mtn. Wear 'em out...or at least Beat 'em.
  5. I'm really surprised that one questionable call FOR signal Mtn. would even be brought up. They had to beat the officials at SP and TC along with beating the team. They're starting to get used to it. Just sayin'.
  6. What makes the playoffs special is that nothing is a sure thing. Signal Mtn's defense matured by leaps and bounds last week. Those boys have a never say die attitude that is undeniable. They are also classy and humble. Much of the same can be said for Boyd Buc. When I played at Boyd Buc 30 years ago we had nothing and got beat up a lot. Now they have a proud tradition that was hard earned. Both sides want it terribly bad and that's what will make it all the more special. Counting the days 'til Friday! Go Eagles....and Bucs.
  7. Looks like it will be a great weekend of Football! Having attended BB and having some kinfolks there now I'm looking forward to it. Lots of familys with friends and relatives on both sides. Not much chance of a repeat of last week for the Eagles. I doubt the BB fans will be liquored up and I doubt they will turn their backs on their beloved team and head toward the gates with 2 minutes left like we saw last Friday. No fair weather fans on either side. We've won more than one game this year in the last 2 minutes. Heck, we won't even grease their stands. That being said I think Boyd will lay it all out and give us a run for the money. Sad that once again only one team can win. Signal Mtn 53 Boyd Buc 30 Mtntrout
