Just curious, who won silver division?

If Pat Summit had girls hitting the long bomb as consistently as #20 and #25 did last night she would have a much better record this year. They were tough to stop - actually we didn't. But Congrats to the Lady Cyclones for being the better team!!! It was a thrilling game and I'm proud of the way each and every one of them played. They all came up big at some point during the course of the game. On to the 'Boro!! I didn't realize until I read the paper this morning that Fritz had 5 three's. I know the last one she hit with under a minute left and the Cyclones down one was a huge shot. I guess the Gibbs fans were wondering why they were letting her shoot it just like I was wondering why we kept letting @20 and #25 have those open looks!! Great job by all. Does anyone have shooting percentages from last night? It felt like every shot went in there for awhile.

My understanding was that the new rules instituted by TSSAA didn't go into effect until July 30. Next summer the rules will have to be followed and those camps will be a thing of the past. That is only my interpretation and it may be wrong. If so, I would certainly love to be corrected.

We are still praying and would love an update if anyone has any info.

Go Lady Highlanders!!! Carter County basketball sure has been strong!! I have a curiosity question which I'm sure Starman or Krich can answer for me. How many teams have we sent to the 'Boro in the last decade? Boys and Girls? How many years is our longest streak for making the trip? Thanks and Good Luck to those Highlanders!!!

Usually there is a rules meeting either in Morristown or Kingsport. I have not seen one listed. Have both myself and TGLJ missed it or do those of us in the northeast corner of the state have to travel all the way to Knoxville this year?

bball gets way too many timeouts. Decrease the number of timeouts given and teams may pay late in games for calling timeouts to avoid the 5 second call.

EHS killed West Greene tonight. I believe it was at least 3 minutes into the 3rd quarter before WG had double digits. Victoria Hopson sat all of the 2nd with foul trouble. Hannah Fritz played sparingly late due to illness. Jasmine Treadway had a great hustle game. Starters sat all of the 4th. Michaela had a big 3rd quarter. Mariah had a big 4th. Bush was hot early. Also of note, South Greene killed Happy Valley. I believe it was 63-36.

"Elizabethton's top 11 are two seniors, four juniors, four sophs and a freshman. Still a pretty young team." I believe we have 12 varsity team members. Let's not leave someone out by talking about the "top 11".

What were the matchups for the semis and finals?

Congratulations to those Lady Cyclones!!! You worked hard season long and deserve to be in the 'Boro. Go for the Gold!!!! - one game at a time, of course!! I believe you can do it. This team is on a mission. BTW - Katrina came home Tue. afternoon. We are ecstatic and exhausted . I will probably be on here at weird hours for awhile but I will certainly be looking for updates. Great Job Lady Cyclones!!! It was great to see you play again! You have certainly improved since the game I saw back in January Of course, teams with players who work as hard as you do and are well coached will do that. You are a very talented group - but you have also worked hard to get where you are. Congrats! Beat those Tigers! I'd love to come see another game Saturday night!! Go Cyclones!!

We all knew Unicoi would not go down without a fight. They are made up of some true competitors! Tomorrow night should be a show! May the best team win (and have a little left in the tank for Thursday ) Go Cyclones!!!

For you Coachh17 - I know how you crave details. I listened on the radio. Elizabethton beat Chuckey Doak by about 20. They went up by 10 in the first quarter and kept responding to any threat CD could make. Rikki was great. Close to 30 points. 10 in the first quarter (2 3's) Michaela and Val played very well but had some foul trouble. Ed and Bri stepped up and played great to help us through the foul trouble. Cameron and Victoria were solid. Radio guys said it was the best Victoria has played and were commenting that she doesn't get enough credit but she does a lot of the little stuff that makes a huge difference. Of course, she has always done that. I don't have exact details but that's a start. Unicoi Co. is next. I believe 7PM Wed. I'm 2-2 on picks. Not a great start. Next round. Pigeon Forge over Claiborne. Elizabethton over Unicoi. I hope I do better than 50% this time

South Greene over Unicoi I don't know all the history of this rivalry but I don't think Unicoi can stop the Waddells and SG has Unicoi's # lately (I think ) Sullivan Central over Claiborne Cougars riding high with #2 finish in District Tournament. They want more.

We are home! We came home last Tue. Katrina flew in a jet for the second time as she was transferred straight to the med center. She is not ready to be discharged but we wanted to get the family closer to home. Katrina ended up with a staph infection in her lungs and they have had to turn up the ventilator again over the weekend - but she is doing better this morning and we are weaning again. Hopefully we will get over the infection quickly and nothing else will pop up. Then we can finally wean the ventilator away for good and bring her to the house. I might try to make it to a regional game. I'm waiting for the right match-up Keep playing hard Cyclones! I'd love to come see a champion crowned!! One game at a time though - stay focused!

Wow! I am surprised the Blue Devils went down on their home court. Congrats to the Cougars. I hope the Cyclones are ready for them on Thur. and don't have a let down because they aren't playing Unicoi. I do think they will be focused - it is for the District Tourny Championship Trophy after all. Go Cyclones!!

Isn't it terrible to be away! Those with the info don't understand how vital it is to post lots of details right away for us. By the way, we came home Wed around 1AM. Why they like to transport patients in the middle of the night is beyond me. Things are going well but I doubt I will make to any games any time soon.

WE ARE COMING HOME! :justwrestle: ! :justwrestle: ! ! Katrina is being transferred back to JCMC. She will still be in the NICU as she is still needing the ventilator but we get to make the huge step of returning to our own neck of the woods. Hip Hip Hooray!

Big time congrats to the team. Some very big wins down the stretch!! Congrats on the nonconference win over a tough Greeneville opponent. Also big to win at Unicoi. Looks like an undefeated conference season is very attainable. That's huge!! Keep playing tough. An update on Katrina - She had surgery yesterday. She was in the OR about 4 hours. They rearranged her intestines because she had a malrotation. Did an appendectomy. Wrapped her stomach around her esophagus to control her reflux and put in a feeding tube so that we can get her home. She is in quite a bit of pain today but they are working on giving her as much medication as she can have. Things should start looking real good again in another day or two. Keep the prayers coming.

Congrats to the Lady Cyclones!! This is a very big win! I was a little concerned because I know we shot poorly in that gym last year and we need to be able to play well there since Unicoi is host to all post season games. Big, big win! CoachH17 I can just imagine it. It is hysterical that you got thrown out - ironic that it comes so close to you leaving coaching (for awhile anyway) I'm sure you took it well. Did Wilson have to finish coaching the JV game? By the way, who did the JV lose to this year? I know you hate sharing conference crowns.

Krich - You are right about that! They do seem to rise to the occasion - when it means something. This Friday certainly means ALOT! It's gonna be a good one. It is almost time where every occasion is a big one!
