  1. Station Camp defeats Franklin in PK's
  2. PJM

    A/AA 2016

Central won 4-0. Central dominated every aspect of this game. East Ridge never gave up, but it was not close.

    A/AA 2016

Greeneville 3 Knox Catholic 1 Final
  4. Ravenwood, Station Camp, Franklin, probably top3 middle tn AAA teams left. Franklin will travel to Station Camp in an elimination sectional game.
  5. Just name 95% of every public school soccer field in the Tennessee. That should cover it. Most of them are not as nice, and they could not host a tournament this size.
  6. I can think of 200 fields that would be worse...just saying.
  7. Let's not get crazy. Morristown West beat South Greene 3 times, I think all by double digits. Riverdale just took it to Mo West. Pickett County is not Riverdale. But I do think South Greene will win Friday against community. And I will be pulling for them as a former Greene County resident.
  8. I could see Memphis Central's pressure defense being effective against some of Riverdale's ball handlers not named Hayes. It was an interesting strategy in my opinion to not have Hayes bring the ball up most of the Morristown West game. West tried to limit her touches. I think Riverdale will have to get the ball to Hayes in the Memphis game to limit turnovers. I was somewhat surprised Memphis Central did not give more touches to their post player. She looked about 6-4, and had good ability, but they rarely fed her the ball.
  9. I'm a big Blackman fan, but it's a stretch to say the Memphis teams don't want to be matched up against them first round. This Blackman team, in my opinion, is the most disciplined Blackman squad of all the teams that have made state, but they are not nearly as talented as some of the others. They work hard on offense to get a good shot. They play great defense. That Spain Park team that they beat was as good as any Memphis team this year, but it took a lot of good breaks to win that game. Just my opinion, but the Memphis squads would probably love to play Blackman first round. But it looks like it has fallen to the Hilltoppers from Johnson City.
  10. I don't think there is any comparison between the two teams on defense. The 2013 team was much better. Offensively, the two teams are both potent and can strike quick through big plays.
  11. I've seen Maryville play with my own eyes this year. And I think Blackman will score more than 17 pts this Friday. Still think Maryville will win though.
  12. Maryville will score in bunches against Blackman defense. The question is can Blackman score enough to win. Maryville 49 - Blackman 35
  13. I would add that after watching the CCS vs. CPA overtimes tonight, maybe I know the reason why Greeneville had such a hard time scoring. CCS's keeper was very good. And I saw where she is only a freshman, maybe.
  14. I watched the Greeneville vs. ND and Page vs. Jackson Christian games tonight. Greeneville played exceptionally well tonight. They are fast. They are tough. And they are technically very good. They moved the ball so well. I'm not sure how good ND was, but Greeneville looked the better team of the four I watched tonight. The Page 1st half and 2nd half team were two different teams. The second half team was hungry and aggressive. This game was 0-0 at halftime and 3-0 final. Jackson Christian had a forward who was a very good player. Her coaches said she had over 100 career goals. She had a few good opportunities in each half, but Page swarmed her. I talked to some Greeneville people tonight about their one loss to an in-state opponent, Chattanooga Christian. They said they thought they outshot CCS around 17-2 in the game, but could get nothing to fall that day. They lost 1-0. Should be two very good games tomorrow. CCS vs. CAK and Page vs. Greeneville
  15. Email me your phone number at odrjm78@yahoo.com if you still need a field.
  16. The fields are in very good condition. However, the fields have never drained particularly well. The drainage system was improved this year. Many additional drains were installed and channels created for water flow. Additional work was done earlier this year to help the fields drain better as well. I will say this fall season at the soccer park was the best in 6 years with drainage. However, we are a bit unlucky in that a former hurricane is dumping so much rain in Murfreesboro right before the start of the tournament.
  17. Picks: Greeneville, Page, CAK, CPA Greeneville, CPA CPA (hope I am wrong though)
  18. Picks: Clarksville, Collierville, Houston, Maryville Clarksville, Houston (Rematch of 2014) Houston
  19. I think this is the first year in 10 years that a Rutherford Co girls team did not make the state tournament, but more surprising was Williamson Co getting shutout in AAA.
  20. The newspaper article said their keeper made 20 saves in the game.
  21. CCS @ Murf. Central. Murf Central came out flat and CCS put an early goal in. CCS had better speed than Central, and this allowed them to get several corner kicks, but they could not capitalize. However, Central possessed the ball for much of the game, but CCS' defense played great. Central just could not get off any real good shots on goal. They might have had three good opportunities all game.
  22. I could care less about the public/private debate. I can't wait to watch some good soccer next week in Murfreesboro, and hopefully see the Green Devils make it and win it all.
  23. Greeneville, CAK, Notre Dame, Page, CPA, Madison, Jackson Christian The winner of Murfreesboro Central vs. CCS is my eighth. I pick my hometown Central team.
  24. Let's see if Greeneville Girls Soccer can blow this theory out of the water this year.
