  1. There is a team and their name is...Memphis Mitchell. Also, I believe Booker T. Washington, Humboldt, and Union City would all have something to say about it.
  2. Just FYI, the quarter-finals will take place on Saturday, Feb. 22nd at 7:00 pm at the higher seed. The semi-finals will be at Fairley High School on Tuesday, Feb. 25th at 6:00 pm & 7:45 pm. The finals will also be at Fairley High School on Thursday, Feb. 27th at 7:00 pm.
  3. My plan was to actually wait till they took a loss from whoever and then share my opinions about their defensive weakness and offensive strengths because if I would've shared it before hand people like you would've said something like then why are they still winning. All I stated was Ripley exposed their weaknesses, period. Ripley is honestly not even the second best team in the district and still beat Haywood. I applaud Haywood for staying undefeated this long, it is a heck of a task to put up a record like that. However, now it's the post-season and now is when it matter so that is why I want to see how they react and how they play in the post season against tougher competition. Don't get so upset tomcatfan lol. Just so you know I'm not even a Ripley fan or from Ripley if you think I'm jumping on some kind of bandwagon, I'm not. Besides why would you jump on a bandwagon that won't even pan out? Ripley isn't even that good, they will lose first or second round of regionals.
  4. It was coming sooner or later...too many teams have been hanging with them thus far for them to stay undefeated. It will be interesting to see how they come back from a loss against a decent Westwood team. The weakness of this Haywood team is, honestly from watching their games all season, they don't play good defense. You can get the shots you want against them. They rely on getting the ball out of bounds quickly & play fast transition basketball. They want to out score their opponents. They are a Grade A transition team, but slow them down & they are an average half-court offense team as Ripley exploited tonight. Congrats to Ripley on a great tournament run & a good win. I'm curious to see how Haywood reacts from their first loss.
  5. On another note...If it comes down the three that everyone keeps talking about, which it should come down to at least two of them if I had to guess. Haywood will get South Side pretty easy. I don't know about score wise, but the game will look pretty easy for them (let's say 12-15pt swing). As far as CPA goes, lol well they are looking at a 3-peat easily. I would say if it's a CPA-Haywood game 15-20pt swing, CPA-South Side game...most likely a part two from last year continued with a 20+ swing.
  6. I definitely think they could very easily if they had to being how they were playing 8 on 5 at South Side last time they played and still only managed to lose by 1. Ask anybody that was at the game and they will say the same I promise, heck even a South Side fan probably would tell you the truth. Anyways if Liberty makes it to the Region Championship against Haywood that will make the 4th time they have played and it's hard to beat a team that many times just to be honest. I believe Liberty can get them in the Region Championship and make South Side and Haywood fight it out to even make it to state. Liberty was only down 4 with minutes left to go in the 4th quarter at Haywood, but just came up short. dmm88 obviously is clueless. Liberty will beat Ripley tomorrow night again and play Haywood in the District Championship. Even if they were to lose there, they are still the #2 seed and will host the first round of regionals at Liberty, then they will travel to Memphis yes, but so will every other team because Fairley is hosting Regionals this year. Liberty has a lot of talent, just sometimes this years group of kids don't work well together and click as well as other year's past teams.
  7. Not that this matters now, but all of this was correct except the boy's quarter-finals round was played last night instead of tonight. Ripley defeated JCM and Covington defeated North Side.
  8. District 15AA Boy's Tournament Quarter-Finals at Higher Seed Wednesday, Feb. 12th #6 JCM at #3 Ripley, 6:30 p.m. #5 North Side at #4 Covington, 6:30 p.m. Semi-Finals at Haywood Friday, Feb. 14th #1 Haywood vs. Winner of #4 Covington/#5 North Side, 6:00 p.m. #2 Liberty vs. Winner of #3 Ripley/#6 JCM, 7:30 p.m. Finals at Haywood Monday, Feb. 17th Game #1 Consolation, 6:00 p.m. Game #2 Championship, 7:30 p.m. District 15AA Girl's Tournament Quarter-Finals at Higher Seed Monday, Feb. 10th #6 JCM at #3 North Side, 5:30 p.m. #5 Ripley at #4 Haywood, 6:30 p.m. Semi-Finals at Haywood Thursday, Feb. 13th #1 Covington vs. Winner of #4 Haywood/#5 Ripley, 6:00 p.m. #2 Liberty vs. Winner of #3 North Side/ #6 JCM, 7:30 p.m. Finals at Haywood Saturday, Feb. 15th Game #1 Consolation, 6:00 p.m. Game #2 Championship, 7:30 p.m.
  9. You are correct Mr. TSSAA, it will be held at Fairley.
  10. If you know Liberty's background at all, then never count them out. That's just like people saying Bolivar is having a bad down year this year, well district tournament time is almost here and I'm sure they will be playing their best basketball when it counts as will Liberty. All I'm saying is don't count anyone out just yet.
  11. No offense printdd, but I just don't see any way for them to get past Sectionals. It's highly, highly doubtful that you beat CPA in a region championship if you make it there. So going away to Sectionals means Cheatham County for Waverly Central
  12. Haywood is a good team because they complement each other very well. They just fit together like puzzle pieces and have that heart about themselves. They don't have any superstars per say, but Varnado is a very smart player which makes him even better. However with all that being said, CPA will beat them by 15-20+ also. It might sound hard to believe to some people, but I think they're going to be a lot of faithful Tomcats supporters stunned when it actually happens.
  13. Anyways, I still am anxious to see how South Side does against Southwind this weekend. I believe that will be a good judge of how a Haywood vs. South Side game would go since Haywood already played Southwind earlier this year in what was a very competitive, athletic game.
  14. Average player?! Beard is better than Hicks or McNeil. He is a very close second behind Barford. He had no choice, but to move to JCM. Some of South Side's players had been talking trash like every teenager does at some point or another and he called them all out for a one on one during the game and shook them up real nice I thought it was funny even though South Side still obviously pulled out the win easily.
  15. Oh goodness a blue devil fan...we won't even go there Maybe you're expecting Barford to take South Side all the way by himself like you're hoping Parker will for Duke, but they will only make it so far until they meet a complete team with five good players that will take advantage of those average players just standing out there taking up space on the other team...cough cough Haywood
  16. I would give them more than just a slight edge no matter when it is honestly. South Side only has three players. Haywood plays almost ten deep and they are all legit. I mean these boys come in and out and never stopping hustling. Personally though, I would love to see this game if and when it takes place.
  17. South Side has a better chance of being beat in their district this year than they do in region play, which is crazy to say. Bolivar having a down year really makes it even easier to do so. The switching up of the districts makes it very tough for a 15 AA team to get to state now and a cakewalk for a 14 AA team. Basically, South Side should make it to the Boro with no problems. The only task is making sure they don't slip up in the region championship because if and when they do play Haywood, whether it is in sub-state or at Murfreesboro, the better of the two teams will win and from watching both play this year that's definitely Haywood.
  18. So, in what should be a very competitive district this year, what do you all think? Give me some opinions. I'm very excited about 15 AA basketball this year. I don't believe it will disappoint.
  19. Milan also just returned quite a few big, strong, aggressive football players who didn't play at Ripley. They will be tough and ready to compete by the time January rolls around. As for Manassas, they should always be at least average with all the talent Memphis has to offer, but the small guard nor the team for that fact really impressed me that much the other day. Of course, basketball has just begun so you can't tell a whole lot thus far.
