  1. If that is the case then I suppose his hands were tied...surprised he would not have left right after if the administration was that overbearing. Sure he will land on his feet.
  2. I completely agree on McAdams and would typically agree on Martin however the whole debacle at the beginning of the season (which was conspicuously swept under the rug and kept from the public) then letting those boys back on the team leads me to believe that maybe winning was more important then doing it the right way. I realize this is just a blip on a long career but allowing a decent amount of players back on a team and in to the starting lineup when they would have been booted from most programs is questionable at best. Still odd that he is forced out with that track record, even odder that none of the other jobs in the area have snagged him up, but maybe the GP community didn't take to kindly to the handling of that situation.
  3. I have reason to believe that hogan may be correct on his assumption (no reason not to believe, track records are track records)...if he finds somewhere out of the area to go
  4. And getting canned from a terrible Glencliff team as WR coach...who you know is most important
  5. Hurd is special no doubt but the O Line played really well too. Everyone knows you are going to run and you still have sick success like that hats go off to the guys up front. And while they aren't in Hurd's league, the other backs for Beech looked like they could be some pretty good HS backs as well. That is an impressive team you guys have.
  6. No way Baskin gets consideration, I would say the same for Abner but he's landed 3 gigs already must know someone or be one heck of an interview...they would be better off with an unproven then those two. Any clue as to who has actually expressed interest?
  7. What you are failing to understand is it is not the football hire that really matters here, it is the principal. The downturn of HL's fortune just so happened to coincide with her coming over, tigers don't change their stripes.
  8. She will not give assistants and there are things preventing even supportive principals from helping getting teacher/coaches in from the outside...not impossible but a ton of hoops that shouldn't exist. If he is used to lack of support than HL will be no different unless there's an unforeseen administration change. Cheatem is a better job than HL hands down. Unfortunately HL is only a good job if you get assistants, left alone, time, support, and can deal with the school day in what has become one of the rougher metro schools. Only one of those is under control of the coach but best of luck.
  9. Apples to Oranges, everyone knew CR was stacked with talent, the HC was genuinely an anchor (something I rarely say but it is what it is). HL has nothing that job had, their numbers are down, the administration is not even close to being supportive of athletics, the talent isn't playing or isn't there currently, you have no in school assistants, and did I mention the administration is not supportive of athletics? There are a few jobs in metro that people outside of the county would be interested in, HL is not one because of the school day unless they get a sweetheart deal. Now can HL be successful, I would like to think so as they had a good run under the HC the principal ran off for like 8 or 9 years but it's going to take time, assistants, and a paradigm shift from the principal.
  10. Anything else you'd want??? State championship coaches don't typically knock down the door to a down program in a solid district unless they can offer a ton of money or there is something else we are unaware of that makes this job extremely attractive. Like any other school, they may have potential and they do have new facilities but that's not enough for a state championship coach.
  11. Can Lebanon compete in their region, is the next HC gonna get some time, and do they have the teaching job to bring in whoever they want most...those are 3 very important questions.
  12. I hope so as I strongly dislike MJ. The fronts will be key as both are run first and like I said, DC has a solid front seven (even though HC ran on them decently well but HC is another story and it's a rivalry game right?) and 15 is a beast. Should be one heck of a collision should him and MJs fullback meet in the hole. Unfortunately I still think MJ wins but would be pleasantly surprised should DC prove me wrong.
  13. DCs secondary isn't very good but their front 7 is solid, their MLB is a man. MJ is an oiled machine on offense and they have a solid, opportunistic defense. MJ is the better team regardless of how much I hate to say it. MJ wins by 3 TDs.
  14. You can make that same assertion about any area though. I am from the midwest and if you got rid of all those catholic schools the public schools would be even more stacked. WesVLT-it's just odd to me because you have big football states in the north, ky is a basketball state for the most part, then you have the southern football states like FL, GA, AL, and SC. Not sure where TN fits in to that equation or why being a football state seems to skip right over KY and TN (obviously there are pockets but as a whole). Just my observations.
  15. Teams down here have no concept. Is the football solid, sure, however it can't compete with premiere out of state teams...or even the top half. I would say that if you took the top 10 teams in TN and put them up against the top 10 teams in a football state they would be lucky to win 1 or 2 games, it would get even uglier when you get to the middle of the pack programs. For one reason or another, football just tends to be played on another level in other states.
  16. Not necessarily a Stratford fan but am a coach and these sorts of things don't look good on the profession or shed a good light on the person that makes this decision at this time of year and not even telling the principal. I am not contesting it is a better situation for him and even if you think the timing is ok there is NO way any one can in good conscience defend the way in which he went about accepting the position and "notifying" the team at Stratford. Maybe it was a lesson in professionalism he had to learn the hard way but it will stick with him for many years and I personally know many coaches that have commented in not so positive ways about this. And you are right, good luck to the Spartans.
  17. Pretty simple, he's spent time in Marshall County and it's an easier job all around. You can point to competition but playing Lipscomb, Pearl, Maplewood, and CPA every year is no cake walk as well as usually having to schedule a tough out of conference game to make money and adding in a possible up and coming East Nashville (East Lit) team with the hit or miss Whites Creek is a decently tough schedule. And the day job is definitely easier...and to insinuate the two situations are the same with the coaches leaving is nowhere near the truth. One was fired one walked out...you knew the situation going in to Stratford, knew very few applied for a reason, and knew they took a shot on an OC with a very poor record for a reason, way to return the favor and take on the responsibilities I am sure he played up in the interview to get the job in the first place. Regardless of what you know of the man, the actions reflect very poorly on him and are extremely selfish.
  18. Doesn't matter if he does or not, only 2 ways a job like this comes open 1) Coach ran afoul of the law/district and in that case would be on leave, 2) Principal's "other direction" is really just a way of saying he has a buddy he wants for the job. Since the coach didn't lose his teaching job my money says this job is in the bag for someone the principal already knows/has in mind.
  19. Looking stupid if he walks...possibly next time you fire a coach (who don't get me wrong, wasn't producing but the way it was handled was shady to say the least) after making sure your hand picked man is available you should make sure the hand picked guy is as committed to you as you are to him and you can definitely deliver on his demands.
  20. Path of least resistance, hopefully he has better luck with loyalty then he showed... I realize you coached him RTB but not sure he should get a job he threw people under the buss for. Maybe he learned his lesson but it may be some rough sledding finding assistants who know of him...that said, good luck to all metro schools except 1 week a year.
  21. The last thing CR needs is to fill the position in house, they need a complete break and new direction and you can't do that by changing titles, but at this stage this may be their only option. They would be best served to take the flak and repost it but who knows what they are thinking. As for Hillsboro, the initial interview list wasn't super impressive and was front loaded with Clayton so if he turns it down it could get interesting...all eggs in one basket it seems, still can't imagine him not taking it since it was all laid out for him but crazier things have happened.
  22. If it comes from within the district they can succeed, within the building they will continue to be the headscratching bottom feeder wasting talent...the path of least resistance is not a wise one in this case, not in the least.
  23. I am sorry but I cannot believe what I am reading. The man broke the law, and if he is married, intended to cheat on his wife and more importantly his KIDS. How is he the victim or someone that deserves empathy? I will pray for his family but he knew what he was doing and as far as doing what he loves, he choose to put that at risk by doing what he knew was wrong. He will never work in a school again unless that school doesn't do its due diligence, how does one explain soliciting prostitution and still being a role model for young men? I do not challenge any of your personal statements and undoubtedly believe that he had a positive impact on those he taught and coached but that chapter in his life is over and rightfully so. This is not a gaffe or lapse in judgement, this was premeditated with a complete understanding of what he was risking. I do not wish the man a life of judgement or ill however he should never be allowed to lead young men and women again. As an educator and coach it is instances like this that stain the profession and bring all of those that try our best to lead by example into scrutiny. I am no saint however I understand that my actions have consequences and that everything I do in my personal life is related to my professional life. Best of luck to his family and FRA.
  24. which is why it's good you don't make decisions....I am no fan of the wing-t but ayedolott is one of the best coaches around...I feel that regardless what he did people like you would dislike him regardless if the score wasn't in riverdales favor at the end of the game. The devil you know........
