Knoxville West Hc Lamer Brown placed on leave
Swipes replied to Aitch's topic in Class 5A & Class 6A
The did relieve him of his coaching duties but assigned him another job in the Knox County School system. Kind of weird they would give him another job in the school system if he knew anything about what was going on -
Don’t see them losing to Bearden after a mass exodus of player's since Jones was fired. (Now QB coach at Catholic) Bearden best players have transferred to other schools except for 1 lineman so far and don’t know if he will be staying or not

100% agree. Collins did a great job of managing his pitchers through the tournament and throughout the year. Might help a little when he is the Greeneville Flyboys (College Summer League Team) pitching coach and been a coach at both Gardner-Webb and Tusculum before going to the high school ranks.
-
I agree with you pioneer. Greeneville getting the first win over South Gibson's when they pitched their ace was big and having no errors in that game. Being up 3-1 in the 4th allowed Greeneville to pull their Ace Quillen to pitch in the Championship game while Munford had blew through there 3 best pitchers by the time they got there. Norris stepped up after Greeneville lost 9-1 in the 2nd game against SG and came in and pitched a gem in the 3rd game when pitching normally isn't what he does. Greeneville loses 5 starting Seniors that took their lumps as Freshman but it worked out in the end with the Senior class leaving with 2 State Championships and a Semi-Final appearance in their 4 years. A lot of good young kids coming through the ranks at Greeneville so should stay competitive

Here is one of those Articles from Staley. There is a big difference in how Men and Woman are made up. A good high school team can beat top woman's college teams https://www.outkick.com/sports/dawn-staley-key-south-carolina-success-practicing-against-men

I guess Guillem is holding out on us since he just told 5Star Preps that we only return 2 starters on O and have to replace our entire Oline. Don’t see how they would be better than Alcoa’s line who lost 1 starter on it but to each their own. Maybe he brought in some OLine men from other places.
-
Alcoa had only 7 Seniors on their team last year and out of those only 4 were starters. They return their entire secondary and to say they aren’t athletes outside of Cherry and Dean (that’s who i think you are talking about) is not factual at all if you watched them play last year (I saw them live 3 times and on TV multiple times too). Jayzon is fast but getting lose might be a problem against them. (AC lost almost their entire OLine and the head ball coach said this is the youngest team he has had in years). Jayzon also only had 77 yards rushing against Alcoa last year so running up field behind a new OLine against a veteran Alcoa team I see being a problem.

I mean Greeneville beat DB 35-0 last year and it was never close. The last time Upperman and Greeneville played 2 years ago they beat Greeneville at Greeneville. Upperman’s only loss last year was to the 4a champs and beat them in the regular season.
-
Alcoa loses 4 Seniors (1 being a starter in Ayl and the other first off the bench in Graf). They return almost all their scoring so definitely will be in the hunt
-
Praying for you here in Knoxville!
-
No clue. I know Greeneville replaced DB and Tennessee High with 5a State Champs Sevier County and Upperman who are both better teams. Might just be wanting to play tougher teams before having to potentially meet Alcoa in the playoffs
-
Congrats to Upperman being the better team today. Greeneville tried to claw its way back in it but Cobb is just that dawg. He will have a lot of offers before he graduates
-
I’m saying building the program the way they have has parents and kids that want to play for the program. (Your program Upperman has done the same thing here recently the same way my school has. It’s following the Maryville and Alcoa model). If you think Alcoa is actually “recruiting” as defined by how the TSSAA defines recruiting I would tell you to contact the TSSAA with your proof. I think some of you don’t know what is actually “ recruiting” in the eyes of the TSSAA and just like throwing that word around
-
You are correct but they also don’t have 10 championships in basketball and would have been talking about football which they aren’t AA
-
The dude doesn’t know anything about Alcoa either with his figures, recruiting allegations, and even the size of the middle school. He just said Alcoa had won 10 Championships in AA football when they haven’t been in AA for 17 years.
-
You have I don’t know anything about Alcoa written all over you. Winning recruits itself ( if you truly believe Alcoa goes out and bring in kids every year by actually recruiting you are obtuse) and having kids want to be part of a top school system with a great education and great athletics. (Please let me know who Alcoa has recruited and didn’t just come there because their parents wanted the best for them). They have also have been in AAA (not AA like your uneducated mind just stated for a while now and moved to 4a because that’s the way the population is growing to if you knew anything about the school. You would also know their middle school has closer to 500 students in it than 400 and that the same names have been coming through the Alcoa programs for decades. (Most come come from a small are of Alcoa). This is coming from someone who has to compete with Alcoa but not scared to do to….

Yep in the Greeneville Commons! I think Pal’s only had 2 sit down ones
-
It truly depends on the game. Anderson has went off for 20 in games this year and super athletic (3 Star WR and has D1 offers to play football). McGill is taller at 6'3 and usually draws the other teams best Offensive player. We know Thompson will get his but it truly just depends on who is on when it comes to who is the 2nd leading scorer it seems this year
-
Greeneville has 3 Seniors in McGill, Tweed, and Moore who all start. They do return starters in PG Anderson and Thompson who are both Juniors along the other 4 off the bench that get quite a bit of playing time every game in Gomez-Mills, Franklin, Smith, & Claridy (You will more than likely see all 4 of them depending on the situation)
-
I agree Red Rebels, Maryville is an everything school and those are few and far between. My School Greeneville is the same way and has team state championships in Football, Men's Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Boys and Girls Soccer, Boys and Girls Cross Country, Boys Golf (Even tho it's been some years), Boys Track and Field, and Wrestling. Thats why they put up a sign coming into the City limits that says "Welcome to Title Town"
-
He definitely is doing well and enjoying Real Estate and his family farm in Greeneville. I think it would take a lot for him to move to take a coaching job. (Now getting him back in some form or fashion at Greeneville maybe. I would love to see him back as an OC which he did before he was a head coach and a good one at that. He was my OC when I played there. Not as much time you have to put in as an OC compared to a head coach)

No one in here has said it’s the kids fault but there are rules in place for athletes to compete in a TSSAA event. So by your logic we should just rid of the rules that are in place. This isn’t the first time that a school or administration has let down a student and caused players to have to sit out and games forfeited. Powell a few years back played a kids that truly wasn’t eligible in football and got caught game 8 of the season when they were undefeated. TSSAA made them forfeit those games and the player couldn’t play anymore. It wasn’t the kids fault or the other kids on the team but rules are rules. It’s a tough lesson to learn. What is even worse for this situation you have kids that are supposed to be Senior and Graduating that don’t even have enough credits to get into college if they wanted too
-
The more you talk the more I worry about your thought process in life. Yes it’s not the kids fault but there are rules in place for a reason. If a kid (more like the parents) lets there kids go to a school with teachers that aren’t credited then something has to be done. TSSAA has rules about taking classes that are CREDITED a semester to be eligible to play, If you don’t have the legit credits you’re not eligible point blank. There are kids that are supposed to to graduate but have credits the equivalent as a Sophmore. The comment about Go and add players is so asinine it not even funny. I’m sure schools would like to add some of their past players that are in college for the state tournament since rules don’t matter at all in your eyes. (At least they already got there credits). I’m sure my school would like to have the starting PG for Maryland and a Mr. basketball player back next week….🙄

I doubt they were since they got put out in the first round of the playoffs on November 8th.
-
I think the dates are little mixed up. He was talking about Fulton on November 30th and we did win by 1 (we had been out of football season on the 22nd). We did play Stone on the 23rd (the day after we lost to AC in football) and lost by 9 without 3 starters and our first 3 off the bench because they all play football. When Greeneville and Alcoa played was later in the season on January 24th. Both teams are at full strength and had their football players back. (Alcoa has probably half their team are football players and would have been even better if Owen’s was on the team but enrolled early to Michigan for football). I think 3 starters are starters on the football team off the top of my head. Greeneville took some time to gel getting the football players back and started to turn the corner at The Classic Tournament in Bristol. Since then they have losses to Knox Webb (by 1), Bearden (by 2 who beat them 36 in there first game), and Alcoa (by 13). Pretty good competition if you ask me
