  1. As you know I've preached it before but the big schools can be relevant in the football playoffs but the entire system has to by in from the pee wee up. I can promise you if Caine Ballard was the head coach at DB he would win them a championship with the athletes they have including the ones walking the halls. It's a system and a strong head coach that knows what they are doing.
  2. Tell him to come west to Greeneville! You will have Baugh as QB 1 who passed for 280 yards with 3TD's and no INT and was 16-21 throwing it last year as the backup. I'm sure we could get the ball in his hands
  3. Is he staying at SE? I saw he picked up some more offers from Ole Miss, Miss State, Syracuse,Arizona State, Colorado State, ECU, MTSU, and WKU.
  4. Per his Twitter he is at Sevier County High School
  5. Well per the State and per TSSAA an open enrollment school is any school that has a transfer policy on file with their school board that will allow someone not zoned for that school to attend. (Must provide their own transportation and keep in good standing with the school both academically and behaviorally or they will kick you out. Usually will charge a fee between city and county taxes if one is a City School). Now getting an approval might be easier in some school systems than other but the same rules would apply.
  6. Two different school systems but both our open enrollment like 95% of the public schools in Tennessee in the eyes of the TSSAA
  7. I don't think it will either. Lenoir City is growing like crazy and up 6% just from last years student population for the school system. They are building an all purpose facility with a 1 cent per dollar sales tax increase so could attract some kids from the county or Farragut https://twitter.com/LenoirCityFB_/status/1777722025685000583/photo/1
  8. Yea the address is 6445 Highway 11 E that Loudon County Board of Education owns and right pass the LC City Limits.
  9. If its on Simpson Rd behind Home Depot then it real close to LC. From there to LC is less than 3 miles, around 10 miles to Loudon High, and around 15 miles to Greenback.
  10. They would have to move 20 miles radius away from the school they attended to be eligible for sports or sit out a year. Thats the exact reason Boo Carter went to BC last year because he wouldn't have been eligible to play football at Brainerd since Chattanooga Christian was in that 20 mile radius and he had a football record there. I've also seen the State MVP for Alcoa sit out an entire year because he didn't move and transferred from Knox Catholic to Alcoa which wasn't 20 mile radius away. Now they can apply for a hardship with the TSSAA is another way and has to be approved.
  11. School are currently operating under the same restrictions as it currently sits for each division. (Some might be operating illegally when it comes to recruiting). It sounds like some people need to talk to their school boards about changing how things are written or allow transfer to be easier to get into their school system. Like I've stated for year in the eyes of the TSSAA over 95% of the public schools in the state are Open Enrollment and the TSSAA can't do anything about that or would have their pants sued off.
  12. He is committed as a 3B or Catcher. (Can really play anywhere with how athletic he is) He plays SS for Greeneville when he isn't pitching and plays for Caines National for travel ball. Won Prep Baseball Player of the week for week one batting .538 (14-26) with 7 doubles, 1 home run, 7 runs batted in, and scoring 9 times. He would make two appearances on the mound during this stint, going 1-0, with 1 save. He would allow 0 hits, 1 walk, and 11 strikeouts in his 6.1 innings of work.
  13. Greeneville had some nice wins last year with how young they were beating Alcoa, Bearden, Morristown West, and Morristown East who all either made the sub state or played at the Glass House. Greeneville returns Thompson, Anderson, Tweed, Mcgill, and Mills that either started or was first off the bench and got a lot of playing time. McGill was a Junior, Thompson, Anderson, and Tweed were Sophomores and Mills who was a Freshman. There were 4 seniors on the team last year. Greeneville should be good next year as long as everyone stays healthy
  14. Good in theory but the TSSAA can't limit the amount of kids eligible in open zones they would get their pants sued off by the government. Also in the eyes of the TSSAA over 95% of the schools in Tennessee are open zoned. (Anyone that has a transfer policy on file with the school board and can accept a student that is zoned for somewhere else is open zoned. It does not matter the reason or how easy or how hard it is to get a transfer approved.)
  15. Very fun to watch and the best team to come through Greeneville in my opinion. (There has been some very good teams come through the years that made it to state in the largest classification) Now the question is where will Gillespie end up transferring to from Belmont. (I called it that it would be a two year destination for him because he got overlooked just being 6'1) This season he averaged 17 points, 3.8 reb, 4.2 Ast., 2.2 steals, and shot 56% from the field
  16. Those three have been starting at Fulton since they were Freshman and knew they would make a run and be tough to beat the last two years. Greeneville was just to good with Gillespie and Satterfield when these Seniors were Freshman and Sophomore.
  17. Pretty bold statement about UC winning it all if Prep wasn't in it. Prep beat them worse than the other two teams they played in the tournament......
  18. They beat their 3a teams outside of Alcoa but lost to 4a Carter and had close games with 5a Cocke County (1-9) and 4A Fulton (2-9). They weren't a bad team but wouldn't have made it to the Quarters playing 4a last year having to go up against teams like Betsy, AC, and Greeneville in the first few rounds if they would have made it to the top 4 in their Conference (Carter finished 3rd in their Conference so probably a 4 seed in stead of Fulton playing Greeneville first round). No clue about the cabin thing, don't follow GP that close.
  19. You can but GP wouldn't have faired any better in 4a. They lost to Carter by 20 last year who was put out in the first round by Betsy 38-0
  20. Jody Wright gave some huge praise to the Bees and know it will be a test against them. He told 5starpreps after the Fulton win that "Really impressed with them tonight. They took on a team that was far more athletic than we were and just dismantled them". "Really ran some good stuff. Well Coached. We'll have our hands full with those guys. They're Good!"
  21. Cookeville might win but don't think they beat Maryville by 20 like that.
  22. I 100% agree with you and personally know Bible your head coach since he is a Greeneville guy. You have already beat Upperman earlier in the year which is no small task
  23. She definitely did! Whats is crazy is if she and AaLiyah Story (One of David Crockets best players) at 6'2 played at Greeneville like both their dads, Greeneville would be even better than they are. Athleticism runs deep with hard work.
  24. Couldn't agree more! Don't know if this is Cocke County's year but know they return a ton next year with how young they are and starting 1 senior. Doesn't hurt when Carmichael (Freshman Starting Post) Dad was a Mr. Football Winner for Greeneville and will only get better!
  25. Yes after the Region but before the substate this year. Trust me I think everyone agrees the TSSAA should have communicated that better and it not just show up when they released the brackets before the substate games.
