  1. Baylor is the best team from Chattanooga area then Bradley. Should be a great game Bradley 35-31.
  2. Red Bank wins 31-24. to red bank fan, when i seen you play if #2 had not came in to play east ridge would have won that game the offense was at a stalemate until #2 took over and created plays to break the defenses back.
  3. This will be a lot closer game than you think east ridge has played everyone to the wire despite their record, they got some good athletes. However owls win 31-21.
  4. Derrick -By the way who is the chick in the picture? is that your girl?
  5. OH DERRICK, I keep leaving hints as to who I am, you are so much fun! "i love you man" I am not ashamed as I am as handsome as CAPTAIN MORGAN. But seriously maybe yoga will help with the tension, love don't hate. RED BANK- Didn't understand what the question was about them from someone but what I was implying was that they have the skill players to run the wishbone to perfection. Their qb is probably the fastest most allusive kid I have seen this year to go along with I think #26 or 27 and #6 maybe. One guy is big and fast the other 2 fast and allusive point is if you had the 3 of them in the backfield at the same time in a wishbone formation the defense could not cover all of that speed. Now not saying that is what they should do cause the way they get the qb in space to throw which he does very well or run, is also very productive, just stating that RED BANK has the type of talent it takes to be able to run the wishbone if they wanted to and also the smarts. I was very shocked to see that Hixson almost beat them, I knew it would be a good game but I am looking forward to watching Hixson play later this year and see what they got.
  6. DERRICK- I will be giving therapy on Fridays at 530 before the game I seriously think you should attend, the first 10 sessions will be free. Make sure to bring some tissue or you might need a towel. "Raise the Roof"
  7. Well I would like to prove my manhood and give everyone my name it is Forrest Timmy (south park) Gump! And I would like to thank Central for winning this past Friday against Meigs. I started walking 748 days ago when Central won their last game and boy am I tired of walking and ready to go shave, take a bath, and brush my teeth. Seriously though I would like to congratulate the PLAYERS, COACHES, AND FANS THAT BELIEVED IN THIS TEAM. Confidence breeds success and hopefully this win will help these kids to grow as a team. I am not a Central fan but I am a fan of young men who want give up and concede to failure. Hold your head high and take short steps one in front of the other and prosper. To all the negative fans, those players are learning to be young men whether you like the coaching staff or not you should positively support your team, it is ok to have opinions about the philosophy of a staff but your negative opinion will not make a difference in what the coaches do or don't do. And if you notice by some of the recent responses these kids read this and if you show that lack of respect for the coaches then it also gives the kids the EXCUSE CARD that they can use, its the coaches fault and it rolls down hill from there. X'S and o's ok but just to bash why? Good luck to all players, coaches, fans the rest of the year. p.s On another thread i read were Goodin would be one of the 3 choices to fill the Walker Valley job if it was to open and he would want it so maybe some of you will get the opportunity to see how green the grass is on the other side.
  8. DERRICK- Just getting at you trying to get the "LITTLE MAN SYNDROME" out in you, good to see you on here but I think you need some therapy to help you leave the past in the past and move forward. Same goes for you 89 CHARGER I can't help but pick at a Central guy just trying to get a rise out of you but you handled it well. GOOSEDAD- Why must you feel you have to attack how people look or are perceived, does it make you feel good to bash people who may be less fortunate than you? We are all from EAST TENNESSE so what you say about people from Athens is also thought about those from Ooltewah. Bottom line is you lost this year Mcminn played hard your team played hard and you lost, learn to do that with a little dignity. There is always a missed or bad call in every game that goes against one team or the other but it is a hard job and they do the best they can.
  9. Goosedad a W is a W, Mcminn boosters pay good money for those Referees, lol. Is the refs even from around here don't they travel to various games each week and not MCMINN REFS? Dear Derrick I do agree with you about the option, it would be hard to stop with good speed at the key positions good point. Also, Bo was a defensive coach in Georgia and that is his strength. But the games I have seen I feel like he has game planned well, whether the kids play well is out of his hands but I feel like he has given every opportunity he could with x's and o's. Now I also agree he should snap the ball from center some and look into the option a little but so should a lot of teams including the VOLS. But if you know much about the option it is a love/hate relationship it is complex and has a huge risk for turnovers, and it needs a different Quarterback than Mcminn has to be able to run it. Red Bank would win the state this year if they ran it, but should they try to put it in because it is different, no. It has its pluses and minuses, weigh them out a little and lighten up on poor ole BO, Mullinax ran the same offense for many years before you were born before he ever learned different philosophy's and started running different sets. Give him some more years and heck it seems to be so important to you so ask to help coach some instead of bashing. And last but not least 89 CHARGER you can put together the ALL-STAR team from Central from 89 to the present and I would still run for 200 plus yards have 4td and 20 tackles against you guys so... NEXT!
  10. Mcminn would have not gained 50 yards last week against Farragut had they run the ball. When you are out-maned on the line you got to spread the field to create lanes for your athletes instead of 1 yard and a pile of dust. Also, you don't need play action with Nevins he is so dominate all you got to do is throw it within 10 yards of him. Now if he had caught the first 2 balls last week that were thrown to him that hit him in the mitts, you and Derrick would not have even had a conversation cause Mcminn would have been up 14-0 after the 1st 2 drives of the game and on their way to a W. With all that said Mcminn's strength did not look to be in the running game unless they are equal to a team on the line and can control it. A good coach adjusts to his players not his players to his philosophy. I watched 2 Mcminn games in 2 years and one they crammed the ball down the other teams throat running the ball and the other was last week and they threw it all over the field. Point is you take what is your teams best asset and what is the other teams weakness and that is what is called a game plan. I think BO has done a good job of that the 2 games I have seen. Derrick just needs to go help coach the Athens hawks or Riceville and get some of those thoughts out of his head or go get a degree and become a coach, instead of a Friday Night wanna be Coach.
  11. Last week i watched the Mcminn- Farragut game, when the game started I told my wife we had picked the wrong game to go watch this week as we try to travel around each week to see some of the areas best games. Then after the game got started I turned and said WOW! It should have been a blow out by looking at how huge farragut was but the Tribe has more fight than any team we have seen in the last 2 years. The are little guys that you should blow off the line, and will blow off the line for the first series or 2 but they scrap and claw and play TEAM defense and on the offensive side of the ball they have some playmakers that are game changers about 5 of them. There will be no 35-0 Ooltewah victory I can tell you that for sure you will have to fight and claw with them to win this game. Last week should have been a blowout win for the Tribe had a couple passes been caught and a few less penalties at crucial times. The running back last week for farragut is as good as any they will face and Mcminn only let him loose once that I remember very impressive looking back and very impressed by the Tribes GRIT. We had made prior arrangements to watch another game this week but I believe this is going to be one of the best games in east tn. this week. Bradley, Ooltewah, Mcminn are the 3 teams to beat in this district. The winner of this game will have a showdown for the title with Bradley so I expect there to be all guts on the field for this one.
  12. Watched Greenville a couple times last year and Signal this year. I know what Greenville lost and what Signal has added and the playoffs should be great but folks RED BANK has a great team almost mirror image of Greenville's explosiveness on offense at the QB,RB positions but they got better WR than Greenville did last year. And there defense is tough they give some points up last week to a good line and running back from 5a but of the teams I have seen in the last 2 years they are as impressive as Greenville last year and Signal both years. You will definantly have to outscore them they got some serious speed at the skill positions and some serious size on the lines, I would not want to face them come November.
  13. I got an idea, lets just bench the whole team so we can forfeit. Then everyone could say we had a chance to win that one we only lost by 7. JV-JV apples to apples, JV-Varsity peanuts-grapefruits. If they line up in practice against the man who plays the same position and loses that battle one on one, then they don't deserve to play just because the team is loosing. Line them up position for position one on one who wins the battle is the starter. When a team is down talent wise the only thing that will pull them out of the funk is GRIT and DETERMINATION. When your getting beat the ones that keep fighting are the ones I would want by my side. Find the fighters coach and you will find a win! AND you have to play them both ways, cause the real fighters never want to come off the field.
  14. I was impressed with the tribe last week. They were well undersized but was very tough on defense and had what I thought was a good offensive scheme against a huge Farragut defense. If the game had continued another quarter I could have seen a different outcome, So I am going to predict the tribe sticks to the same offensive scheme and gets the offense rolling in the first half this week. Tribe 28 Ooltewah 24 Very impressed with Tribe skill players.
  15. 425 IS NFL LINEBACKER BENCH! The body can only take so much weight at an early age, your back and joints can not take that much weight without giving. Multiple reps of lower weight will benefit a kid more than seeing how much they can max out at. Yes I would question my kid there is many 30-40 year old athletes around that will tell you exactly what trying to max out will do to your body down the road. No way a kid that age should be benching that much, Tebow was a senior IN COLLEGE and I don't think he was lifting that much! RIDICULUS. I know a defensive linebacker/ linemen that played at Tennessee 18 years ago that was from Mcminn County, SHAZZON BRADLEY, he was one of the meanest strongest players to ever play in this area and he was maxing out at 350 when he graduated and he worked out all year every year and was a 2 or 3 time state wrestling champ in the heavy weight division not 150-200 lbs lifting that much. Do we know what we are doing to our kids these days health-wise, don't make them become MEN before there time.
  16. How can a 15-16 year old 150-200 lbs. RUNNING BACK bench 425? That would bring about some serious questions if a coach or parent actually cared. A senior with 4 years of weight lifting yeah but a sophmore with 1 year of off season work outs, makes you wonder!
  17. I THOUGHT DERRICK LEFT BECAUSE HE GOT HIS HAND CAUGHT IN THE COOKIE JAR AND GIVEN AN ULTIMATUM NOT BECAUSE HE GOT A BETTER JOB? THE JOB WAS JUST GOOD FORTUNE HOW I UNDERSTOOD IT. YOU GOT TO HAVE TALENT AND GOOD COACHING TO WIN. BUT IF YOU DON'T HAVE A RESPECTABLE COACH THE TALENT WONT PLAY FOR THEM THEY WILL FIND OTHER THINGS TO DO WITH THEIR TIME. I DON'T KNOW THE COACH BUT IN TODAYS TIMES IT IS HARD TO GET KIDS TO PUT IN THE DEDICATION IT TAKES TO PLAY FOOTBALL, IF A KID IS NOT A SUPERSTAR THE MINUTE HE WALKS ON THE FIELD THEN THEY USUALLY DON'T WANT TO WORK AT IT INSTEAD THEY QUIT AND FIND OTHER THINGS THAT MAKE THEM FEEL GOOD ABOUT THEMSELVES. THERE IS A LOT OF OTHER THINGS THAT ARE FUN TO DO THAT REQUIRE A LOT LESS TIME AND ENERGY. 20-25 YEARS AGO OUR PARENTS DID NOT LET THE KIDS RUN AROUND DOING AS THEY PLEASE WE WERE TOLD WHAT WE COULD DO AND WOULD DO. NOW DAYS YOU PLAY IF YOU WANT TO AND IF YOU DON'T IT IS OK TO RUN AROUND WITH YOUR FRIENDS ALL NIGHT DOING WHATEVER YOU WANT TO. WHEN PARENTS START RAISING THEIR KIDS WITH DISCIPLINE AGAIN THEN COACHES CAN START USING IT ON THE FIELD AGAIN, THEN YOU WILL SEE YOUR TEAMS WIN. YES SIR, NO SIR! IF I AM NOT STRICT ON MY KID AND LET HIM DO AS HE PLEASES AND THE COACH IS HARD ON HIM, THEN HE QUITS BECAUSE HE IS NOT USE TO DISCIPLINE, WHO IS TO BLAME? 99.9% OF THE TIME IT IS THE COACHES FAULT RIGHT? PARENTS, LOOK IN THE MIRROR, SPORTS BUILDS DRIVE THAT KIDS CARRY INTO ADULTHOOD THAT WILL MAKE THEM SUCCESSFUL, STOP BABYING THEM AND TAKING THEIR SIDE EVERY TIME THINGS DON'T GO THEIR WAY OR SOME COACH IS HARD ON THEM LIFE IS HARD AND PEOPLE THAT ARE NOT DEDICATED AND DRIVEN OR TAUGHT TO BE, USUALLY FIND EXCUSES THROUGHOUT LIFE WHY THEY CAN'T GET A JOB OR PAY THEIR BILLS. I DO LIVE IN THE GREATER MCMINN AREA BUT DO NOT KNOW ALOT ABOUT THE COACH AT CENTRAL BUT I DO KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE THAT A COACHES HANDS ARE SOMEWHAT TIED THESE DAYS BY THE WAY WE ARE RAISING OUR CHILDREN. TUFF LOVE IS GOOD LOVE AND IT WILL BRING SUCCESS TO THE FOOTBALL FIELD AS WELL.
  18. Very well said seven. I was looking at all classes not each class, basically looking at the overall picture. If i had broken it down into classes then Trousdale would definantly be at the top. About Cleveland, until they came up with classifications in 6 classes they always played AAA the highest level and probably had the least amount of students of any school who played AAA back in the day. When Bennie Monroe and Tipton was coaching there you did not want to face them on the road to the championship and that time span was more than the early to mid 90's. However it may somewhat precede the last 20 years, but when the coaches left so did the discipline and that is when Cleveland dropped from dominate to above average. That was my point with Riverdale over these 20 years is that loss of coaching, new schools, toughest region, nothing has seemed to phase them, although some years have been better than others overall they have been in the mix year in and year out. What Marryville and Alcoa have right now is what Cleveland and Riverdale had in the 90's. The difference will be if Rankin and Quarles both stay, then ESPN will be following them around in 10 years just like they did HOOVER, ALABAMA. Mark my words if Price stays at Signal Mountain they will be the force for the next 20 years. They have kids coming across state lines just to play there, HORSES not just players. They are sitting pretty, if you are a big time player in CHATT. it seems that this is where they want to play. I am scratching my head and disappointed that they would not play Alcoa because that is a series that needs to be year in and year out.
  19. WHERE DO YOU PLAY AT? NASHVILLE? I WILL TRY AND SEND EMAIL SOMETIME IN NEXT COUPLE DAYS.
  20. THAT KID IS ALL HEART. I LOVE TO WATCH HIM PLAY LIKE HE IS 6-4 275! LOVE IT. SOUNDS LIKE IT WAS A GREAT GAME. A LITTLE SMASH MOUTH FOOTBALL. GOOD FOR BOTH TEAMS TO GET SOME PUCKER BUTT EARLY IN THE YEAR, IT WILL PAY OFF DOWN THE ROAD FOR BOTH OF EM.
  21. East Ridge has about 5 playmakers and they do a good job of spreading the ball to each of them. Boyd has a good team with a couple playmakers that you can key on. The difference will be up front who wins the battle at the line. Have not seen Boyd but i did see East Ridge last week play against a solid offense and defensive line and they held their own. This will be a great game to watch this week. If Boyd's lines dominate it will be a different outcome but i see a little fight in the Pioneers up front this year. Should be a great game to watch. East Ridge wins 27-24. Too many break away players for Bucs to corral this week.
  22. What determines a great coach, record? NO if you coach average tallent and win then you are a great coach! Ballard, Price are both good coaches but how would they do with less talent? I have seen many teams play over the last few years and most of the time tallent overides coaching but there is a few overmatched teams that i have seen who's coaches really have impressed me with the way they adjust to the game from play to play. A lot of times they loose 10-7 but those are the real coaches. Anyone can coach tallent the ones who can make up for the lack of tallent through x and o's are the best coaches. In saying that Ballard is good but some of the losing coaches i have seen are a little better.
  23. thanks guys for the info and good luck to the boys in blue.
