  1. I would think the interim guy would've had all he wanted of it by now, so if it's a coach on staff already I wouldn't expect it to be him.
  2. You would think at some point during this run that the kids would lose interest. That they would simply expect to win and start losing. That coaches wouldn't gameplan as hard because they're just better so what's the point. That parents would stop supporting because little Johnny isn't getting to play. That other schools would start trying to poach players or start recruiting at a level to beat them. But they just keep winning. They've won a state championship in all but what, 7 of the last 23 years? Just insane to think about. Decatur needs an aluminum plant.
  3. Easy now. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Sequatchie wasn’t exactly holding hands and singing hymns the whole game.
  4. Not very familiar with McMinn Central, I take it?
  5. Played 6 times in the 2000’s. 5-1 all time. Should be a good week for the young guys to get some reps.
  6. Yeah 5:30-9:30 was just an estimation. Wasn’t saying that officials didn’t do anything, just that the harsh treatment from coaches and fans was probably more of a deterrent than pay. So yeah, glad you got that out of your system.
  7. Job isn't currently posted on TSSAA bulletin board or the Sweetwater website. I'm assuming as a courtesy to the coach who is filling in the interim. Wonder if it will be posted or if they will hire from within?
  8. I don't want to live in rainbowland and you can't make me live in rainbowland.
  9. I don't think payment is the issue, they're paid pretty well for 4 hours work. I think how they're treated makes a lot of them get out or never get in.
  10. Every school that uses the officials from our area was scheduled one Thursday night game this year to ease the demand for officials on Fridays. Meigs plays Tyner next Thursday. It's odd but apparently necessary.
  11. Would beat this one? Probably. Would beat the brakes off this one? Highly doubt it.
  12. Sequoyah might be the one school in the state less desirable for a coach right now than Sweetwater.
  13. Does Sweetwater win a football game outside of Monroe County this year?
  14. After reflecting on it for quite some time, I’m not so sure the responsibility doesn’t fall squarely on the parents that complained and someone at the central office. I find it hard to believe that a first year principal and AD in a system like Sweetwater would be given the authority to make a decision like this. Very interested in seeing how this one will play out in the off-season.
  15. Don't play on my dislike for the TSSAA to try to be friendly with me pal. Lol my point was just that the timing favors Tyner, regardless of who was responsible. The matchup is pretty close either way when you don't factor in previous weeks opponents.
  16. I can see them winning, but my only argument against the chargers this week would be of all the teams to play after a very physical game, you definitely don't want it to be Tyner. They graduated a lot but they're still capable of being very physical, and Meigs gave them the blueprint.
  17. Tyner is young, athletic, and will improve as the season goes on. Wish we had already played them.
  18. Yes on next weeks home game. I’m sure the Thompson’s will have a hand in it but the high school FFA actually puts it on. Let me do some digging and I’ll send you a FB message Sunday. I’m not talking to South Carolina fans tomorrow.
  19. How does tonight’s loss to a team that wasn’t going to make the playoffs a month ago factor in to the evaluation of how the coach was doing?
  20. Pregame meal for sure. I’m sure they’d sell a whole butt if you called them early this week.
