What would be wrong with naming David Junkins as the coach? He seemed to do a good job of coaching the Harpeth High Lady Indians. Another thing is he knows the players after having worked with them this year.

How did the Sycamore vs Stewart County match come out? Who is in first place after the first day of the season? Does anybody know who won the Harpeth vs Hillwood game? I think I saw that Waverly dropped their opener to Henry County. How did the Tigerettes look in this game?

Franklin is always a tough, hard-nosed team. In games that pit two talented teams together you have to look at home court as being an advantage. That being said I'll take the Wildcats in a close contest.

I Think they have put off the implementation of this until 08-09 year.

Beech usually has a pretty tough squad. That should give CreekWood an idea as to where they are in comparison to last year.

Sounds like it was a very exciting game. Does anyone know who the other members of the all region team were? Did anyone from Cheatham County make the team?

It is now officially softball time in District 11AA. No teams are short-handed due to basketball going on. With Cheatham County's loss in the region tournament, everyone should have thir full compliment of players. I am not sure if CCHS has any players on the basketball team, but if they do they should be at softball practice tomorrow. Has anyone in the district played any scrimmages yet? If so, who did you play, and how did it go? The season starts 2 weeks from today.

I think Bolivar versus Harpeth game should be a very interesting game. Harpeth must have consistent play from their bench. My opinion is that the starters will probably need to log more minutes than they have in the regular season for Harpeth to come out victorious.

Based on tournament results, it doesn't appear that district 12 was down at all. They were 4-1 in matchups in the region tournament against district 11. That being said, congratulations to the Cheayham County Lady Cubs for winning 25 games in what was supposed to be a rebuilding year. All but one player from this year's team returns to play next year.

Harpeth vs CreekWood is usually a very good game. You might see if you can get the date for either of the two times they play. Both schools have good facilities.

The absence of a shot clock gives every team a chance. The presence of a shot clock in my opinion reduces the chances of a team pulling an upset. I say leave the game the way it is. Even after watching two teams hold it in a second overtime period that's my stance.

Sounds like quite an accomplishment on the part of Page, especially considering the way the the regular season started.

The boys consolation and Championship games are going to have to go a long way to match the excitement of the girls' tournament. Looking forward to the matchups at hand tomorrow evening. Talk about important games. If you think teams in this district have a chance to advance out of the region, then it is vitally important to win tomorrow night. I am not taking anything from Bolivar or any other team in District 12, but the losers of the games Wednesday will be in the same side of the bracket as the defending STATE CHAMPS.

Slube My partner was a student from Sycamore High School. He has been helping their team the last couple of years. What an evening of basketball. Let's start with the clutch free throws that Shawna Ellis made. 3 for 3 to send the game into OT. 2 of 2 to send the game to the second OT. That is clutch in my book. A 4 overtime game. I wasn't expecting that, but what a game. Congrats to Sycamore on the win. The championship looked like it could be a let down after the 1st game. The Lady Cubs would not quit and forced OT. Harpeth did everything they needed to do to win and deserve the congratulation on their championship. CreekWood and Cheatham County should be recognized for their efforts as well. All four teams played extremely hard this evening.

I thought a key reason Harpeth defeated Sycamore last night was the play of their post players. Yes Richardson and Mendenhall did lead in point totals, but I thought the trio of Miller, Harrison, and Erland, played well defensively against the taller Thompson.

I respect your opinion as well. As I said previously, I was a supporter of making this change at one point. This is a softball board.
