  1. No one asked for your "opinion"...but have at it I always shut the game down...notice my guy is pretty silent and off topic
  2. And your still avoiding any dialogue...even when asked about your “opinion “ which you were so high on with Swipes...but hey, I’d stop before I got owned a 2nd time too
  3. I was asking for your take on that particular game... instead you completely change the subject to an entirely different team and coaching staff...unrelated to coach Smith & coach Hookfin sure we can talk about Coach Taylor and the first half of the first matchup he had vs Henry Co, where Liberty was absolutely making a mockery out of the Patriots in the first half...then we can move on to his reluctance to take his star DE out of the double teams and his best LB out of his traditional formation to stop the Patriots sweep that was run over and over again to the tune of 40+ straight points in the second half... we can talk about how Liberty only won 1 game that year but somehow had the Henry Co faithful up in arms for a half...against a 1 win team...ouch shoot we can talk about coach Turner now, maybe he’s relevant in this conversation too, who knows
  4. Man oh man...I am so sorry I missed all this back & forth...but I’m here now explain 42-7 L to Olive Branch...if Smith is your preference Hookfin was predictable...and that’s what made him so polarizing, bc everyone had an idea of what was coming...and still couldn’t stop it...Union City is predictable and dominated for years...what’s wrong with predictable??? and if you’d take Smith based on his potential (you think) as opposed to Hookfin’s proven record...well a bird in the hand or 2 in the Bush (see what I did there) keep in mind, Hookfin left programs that were in shambles and turned them into contenders...so much so that both teams made semifinals appearances the year after his departure...Smith can’t say that...I know who id rather have it’s all about your personal view point I can’t believe I’m agreeing with Swipes...but man, here I am approving this message...well played sir and Tomcatfan...Hookfin actually kept the talent in Brownsville instead of allowing it to be lured away to USJ and Liberty so let’s not act like the Haywood program had D1s all over campus before he got there It shouldn’t be this difficult to hold both men in high regard, all the while giving credit where it’s due...
  5. SS has the best coach, lost all its talent NS has all the talent and the coach is up in the air Lexington had the benefit of playing in a terrible district and achieved a bloated record and Crockett lost a ton to graduation, why I dropped them like i said, I want back in on the fun...so Liberty at 10 is fun
  6. Lemme get in on this fun...it's been a long 3 years 1. Elizabethton 2. Greeneville 3. Springfield 4. Hardin Co. 5. Haywood Co. 6. Anderson Co. 7. Nolensville 8. Dekalb Co. 9. Livingston Academy 10. Liberty Tech
  7. Yessir, as official as can be in JMCSS. Never know what central office and the superintendent might have to say these days. Very defensive minded staff if all holds up
  8. Scott Akin new head coach Eddie Coleman Anthony Wallace Clay Vann Ted McCaslin (rumor) Strength & Conditioning Coach (rumor) and I believe I am missing one other but the name escapes me...sorry
  9. Somebody should let Taylor know that there is an opening at a Olive Branch
  10. “‘Taylor was referencing the fact that the Jackson-Madison County School System redrew the school zones when Jackson Central-Merry closed in May 2016, and Liberty's student demographic changed. "These kids come from tough circumstances," Taylor said. "A lot of people on the outside don't see what these kids deal with on a day-to-day basis. If you look at the areas these kids come from, they come from poverty."‘“ Now, he can say what he believes. He is a very intelligent man. A fantastic speaker, but I’ve heard this from him repeatedly. Hookfin won with the same kids. The best team Hookfin ever had was the year JCM kids were allowed to transfer bc of how poorly JCM was performing academically. Losing to eventual state champions Bo Wallace & Giles Co in the semis Turner had 2 crops of kids. The first year was before the rezoning, 13-1, falling at CPA in the semis. Incredible defense and line-backing core. The second year he had to rebuild after graduation with JCM transfers from an 0-10 team, and 1 absolute beast from Chester Co. He produces a completely new group of linebackers and a few Dline replacements on the way to a state championship appearance. Yes Liberty was loaded on offense with senior talent the second year, but that is simply high school athletics. The only thing I am willing to concede to Taylor’s statement is, yes, rezoning ruined Liberty. It pushed virtually all the talent in Madison Co to North Side the next year. When a dozen yellow buses drive down Christmasville road and turn on/off exit 85, passing Liberty, on their way to/from NS everyday, it just looks bad “rezoning” But everyone in JMCSS is poor, EVERYONE. Those who aren’t poor end up in the private sector. There is plenty of talent at Liberty. Really at every school in Jackson. The problem is the group of coaches that think they deserve to be around these kids. It’s all about who you know, not how talented & dedicated you are. These kids (specifically football players) will do absolutely everything they are told to do, like soldiers. With reckless abandon. But when a Barney Fife type leader comes along, Liberty 2017-2019 is what you get. These men have to be able to teach the game, not just play it. And that is where Liberty failed these kids. so let’s watch and see what a new/old staff is able to do? Will they take some steps fwd? Who knows! listen, in 1A football, you can have the best 1 or 2 guys on the field and win some games, but as the divisions get bigger that philosophy tends to become less reliable. The talent pool grows. Taylor may work wonders at Westwood, but his stuff just doesn’t work at the level Liberty is at currently
  11. The school made an appearance every single player that was on that roster, 9-12, is now gone to graduation not a single returning player has any idea what it actually takes to impose their will on another squad... they thought they worked hard bc they were “conditioned” to believe as such it is a total rebuild with massive talent in the 9th & 10 grades currently
  12. In the Milan thread I made a comment about someone from the past returning to coach at Liberty. Old news Wallace & Akin are both on staff and willing to coach. It will be nice to no longer be the door mat of West TN football. Without being too Grinchy, I'll attempt to leave my thoughts on this situation... Taylor never should have been hired Taylor should have never been reinstated by Ray Washington Taylor threw his entire coaching staff under the bus for his multitude of TSSAA & JMCSS violations Taylor was about the $$$ and not the kids, if you fell for that lie make it your final gullible experience in life Taylor spent more time prepping Lane's football field for games than he did Liberty's Taylor spent more time on these boards than breaking down game film Taylor was a wide receiver, for anyone to say he coached a good defense is plain ignorance Taylor stated in the Jackson Sun that the administration had "unrealistic expectations"...while cruising to a 5-24 record and asking for multiple raises Taylor insinuated that Liberty loses games because the kids are black & poor in his Jackson Sun interview If I recall correctly, and I always do, Tyler Turner took a crew of JCM players to the state championship...A YEAR AFTER TAYLOR LED THEM TO AN 0-10 SEASON... So yea, when we go 5-5 next year with the same poor black kids, I'm gonna celebrate the heck out of it Good luck @ Westwood
  13. I guess there is more than one Mr. Scott looking for a head football coach out there this week. My bad...mic drop...or whatever Regardless, strange thing to guarantee...a phone call...you also left it wide open with “no one from Milan” almost as strange as the guy from Greeneville stating they were going to win 4 straight state championships a few years ago...he guaranteed that too like the boards are full of car salesmen
  14. Ok BPM ok...that’s a very strange thing to guarantee As far as spoils & treasure...unless you know someone at JMCSS central office...
  15. Thought you were continuing the TT speculation with this MS scenario...my understanding is that your man has already placed that call...I cannot tell you anything other than that... as far as the future of our particular program...I believe I’m on the same page as yourself when it comes to a past returning...I still wanna see who all applies though my bias...personal opinion...Liberty should have played in the last 2 Semis, winning at least 1...we had the dudes...if we get the right leader...2 years
  16. ...unless you’re dropping 6 figures I really don’t see TT headed back this way
  17. ahahahhaahahahhahaah that man is NOT leaving Olive Branch for any positions currently open in West TN the type of football he is coaching against is so many levels above where we all are...it just wouldn't make sense for him...he has everything at his fingertips at OB: community support, fantastic athletes and top level competition, not to mention im sure it pays better than small town West TN that being said...any program that lands him would be incredibly fortunate to have his work ethic and skill set we should start a thread of most desired openings in West TN...pros and cons...id even go so far as to say Milan is the #1 destination...and I hate typing that
  18. I got to attend a bulldog game this year and spend some time on the sideline, as well as our match up in the season I would say it was the most dysfunctional I have ever seen a sideline in 25+ years I really thought nothing could be as bad as what I had witnessed the past few years at Liberty...but your sideline...your coaches and athletes lack of communication and respect for each other was actually embarrassing...and I had no stake in it whatsoever...I came to support a friend many factors play a role in something like that...but at the end of the day preparation and discipline fall at the feet of the head coach whether they like it or not
  19. lol...my kids think getting mail from a school is the same as an offer we have some pretty talented players...but they don't actually know what hard work is they will quit before it becomes time to excel and dominate however...the upcoming freshmen and sophomore class is loaded with athletes...im hoping the mindset of constantly losing and everyone is against us hasn't been ingrained too deeply just yet
  20. No...none of our players have "offers" from anywhere... They have tweets or something asking how they are doing... Any D1 coach that actually saw their work ethic and attitude would simply hop back on 40 and head to Olive Branch
  21. I only left the boards, not the school. Our former HC seemed to spend an awful lot of time trying to figure out who was commenting on these boards than coaching so I just decided to let it go...
