WTH...they're not even remotely the same type situations. Head coaches don't resign the week of the first varsity game of the season. As trash as Urban Meyer is...he still didn't leave before the first game in Jacksonville. Something happened, we'll never find out on here. Hopefully both parties (NS & Powell) can learn and grow from whatever it was.

none of you are wrong on your accounts no one is 100% correct or has all the answers either, sadly but just think about all of these things factoring into one school and a graduating class that made up almost half of last years team, those things are difficult to navigate everything I’ve read on this thread is pretty accurate Liberty won 4 games last year…TOTAL…all sports combined of course there are several kids with talent in the school, but they also have dozens of other things needing their attention outside the school setting there just doesn’t seem to be enough talent grouped together on any one particular sport right now Covid was and is a huge factor, like it or not i personally believe TRANSPORTATION is a huge issue facing Liberty students and athletics Anyway, best of luck to all your teams i hope & pray Liberty’s kids get to have a season the upperclassmen have been through so much

what would you like me to say AD??? Im not happy with how the season went, but nothing would be different with last years staff unless you kept the boys at Liberty. A win or 2. That's it. No talent was developed. You saw. Thats why you left. No one blames you or the boys. Its cool. But no Im not necessarily gonna get on here after 1 year and trash the coaches for starting from scratch. Taylor took a team that should have played in the semifinals and went 1-8 his first year....huge difference I hope you guys dominate in the playoffs, no hard feelings

thank you, i will admit to multiple edits as I was trying not to get into name calling and generalizations did the best i could with the emotional contexts that were being thrown around no one is happy with a losing season...a season that isnt even competitive...but the ppl that are left here havent and wont jump ship...wont teach young men to quit on each other and wont allow them to lay blame elsewhere...face facts and improve that is how to lay a foundation to succeed in life

Man, he was terminated for his TSSAA and JMCSS violations, not his win/loss record...and he got reinstated for playing Teddys race card...then walked away a few weeks later. He left. It’s that simple. $0 were raised for Liberty Tech football program the last 4 years. In fact, Turners $45k surplus didn’t last long after he left. One of OTs assistants actually stole a few thousand $$$ worth of fundraising candy that the program had to pay back. OT did get a few Lane games on campus which was nice, but more time and resources were spent preparing the field for Lane games than Libertys. The weight room was paid for by the school district and funds from a new contract with an apparel company AFTER Taylor left. Heck, we were trying to buy Milan's junked weight room equipment. Fair trade for those players I'd say We also had to drop $13k on new helmets bc somebody didn't have them reconditioned properly throughout his tenure. We were too busy buying cool uni's ...mind you, we don't have the $$$ for those either there was no chance of Liberty pulling out of that game bc the contract was to split the gate...which we so desperately need the $$$ bc as previously stated the former coach did not leave any $$$ in the football account before he left...Madison Co schools are not allowed to fundraise, especially Liberty after the prior coaching staffs debacles A. same situation...NS spent $2800 on tape and ankle braces...Liberty wasn't allowed to purchase a single roll...same situation, same resources right B. Wallace has been head baseball coach for 1 year and a week. Also, baseball actually takes talent to win games, unlike every other sport where you can beat people by simply having better athletes C. Because color only matters to certain types of people, like yourself. ...Turner went to Olive Branch, MS. His DC moved to East TN and is now coaching in KY. Turner then moved to Middle TN, once again all by his lonesome...cept maybe his family Akin, Wallace and Vann stayed to work with OT Where??? for 8 man football, 7 on 7 leagues??? talent is where??? just bc you're born doesn't mean you have talent...there's no effort being put in over here outside of practice time What sport has the talent??? Ill wait??? show me their records the last 4 years, the last 8 years...lets see how many games they win this year in total, all sports...then lets talk about talent you have all these brilliant ideas, go get that teachers license and come help out, we would love some new blood in the halls and on the sidelines you mean 3? the 3 that applied??? and only 2 were actually licensed teachers and qualified to work in the jmcss...when Turner left 78 applied and that may be a low estimate, 4 years ago now BTW "Literally nothing on paper says this is the best choice" that's exactly what the world thought when OT was handed the reigns 4 years ago... The program was ruined. No one expected Liberty to return to their prior levels of success this quickly. However, a program has to be built. Talent has to be DEVELOPED, which was not being done as you can presently see. Liberty has starting linemen at JC, at least 1 at USJ , the stud at TCA last year I believe and multiple have transferred in the last year or two to NS/SS..and the 3 players at Milan currently...

i believe that was a poll about surprises in the top 10 for 2020, something about sleepers and putting liberty at 10 and yes, the worst Liberty should be currently is .500, our initial schedule was laughable

...wait a sec here...the only player we reported transferred after July workouts to NS and played against us no other mention of the 3 liberty players has ever been brought up. 1 left after fall semester 19, the 2nd over January (i believe) and the 3rd was injured early last season and never rejoined the team and we knew they got a place to stay in Milan after the season ended last year before Taylor left the program so don't be blaming Liberty for this the accusations that were brought wouldn't make sense for Liberty to report also my source says it was Covington as well so...enjoy

I'm just curious...have you seen his field, stadium, field house...the school...bc I have...and it doesn't look like anything around these parts...so if they (Arkansas) suck at football as much as you say they do...doesn't really make sense why they would spend all that money on facilities and 6 figures on a coach (if that's what he's making)

Lol...bet...he ain’t goin 0-20... 3 years = playoffs...so he has 2 more seasons of course...not every state association allows 1 & 2 win teams in the postseason like TN does...

I can understand that logic...but it’s big boy football, real big here’s one for you...Tyler Turner replaced Hook at Liberty, did a fantastic job...went to Olive Branch...you just stated his last 3 years...we can go 5 total as a head coach if need be...but he just took the job at Goodpasture in that league...with all those type players on opposing teams...would you consider him in the same view as Hookfin if he goes 0-10 or 1-9??? Or does his resume’ pull you in another direction...I’m looking fwd to watching both projects unfold I also think Coach Smith was the right man to replace Hookfin at Haywood...I’m just not so quick to dismiss what Hookfin was able to build & accomplish there as well as Liberty

My curiosity lies in that though...if you don’t know much about Olive Branch football, other than their prior seasons records...how can you be so judgmental towards Hookfin's situation in Arkansas? To me it’s the exact same premise Olive Branch had a good team, but not a great team and they were able to walk all over Haywood I personally don’t think Smith or Hookfin could have done anything to stop that from happening I just wanted to hear your thoughts, thank you
