  1. I'll be more than happy to eat my serving of crow if I'm wrong, I came on here and ate a nice big crow sandwich 2 years ago. The funny thing about that is, in 2011, 2012 and last year I didn't see much crow being consumed by devil fans, just a whole lot of excuses.
  2. The more I think about this game the more I feel like West should win pretty comfortably. West's struggles on offense against Fulton really came down to 2 things, Fultons major size advantage on the interior line, and the speed on the outside. Fultons nose tackle was in the West backfield all night, which stopped the inside run game and prevented the West quarterbacks from having any time to find recievers. When west tried to get outside the safeties were crashing an meeting it at the point of attack. All this said I don't think Greeneville is gonna have the same size or speed advantage and West will be able to move the ball on the ground and open up the play action passing game. On the other side the West front 7 should be able to disrupt the Devil offense just as much as they did the Fulton offense. I was impressed with Malone's maturity and the fact that he held on to the pull instead of just throwing it up for grabs with the defense barring down on him. The West secondary was also phenomenal Saturday aside from the one busted coverage for the touchdown. Every other time Malone dropped back he had nowhere to go with the ball. Without the size and speed advantages Fulton had on defense I really don't see Greeneville shutting down the West offense the same way and I really don't see Greeneville having much more success against the West defense than Fulton did. West should be able to pull away in this one.
  3. Congrats on beating a 4-6 team. Since the turn of the century Greeneville has only beaten West 4 times. Those 4 teams are a combined 21-23 with 1 playoff win between them. Fact is, when West fields an above average team or better they beat Greeneville. Nothing to really debate about it.
  4. If West scores 20 they win this game. It won't matter how good the QB is if the West defense is in his face all night. I also don't think Delaney gets shut down 2 weeks in a row. 27-10 Trojans.
  5. We'll be fine, West won't see another defense like that all year. Our defense is going to keep us in every game we play and I don't think we'll be held to 98 yards of offense the rest of the year. Honestly, when's the last time Fulton had to play field position with anyone?
  6. This West team has been puzzling to say the least. When they're on the look like they can beat just about anybody, then at times they look very average. They've gotten up for big games this season though and I think coach Brown will have them prepared tomorrow night. Should be a really interesting game to watch.
  7. Seymour @ Mo. West is the last Conference game of the Season and it will decide seeds 2-5 in the district tournament. If West Wins: Mo West gets the 2 seed South Doyle gets 3 seed Cherokee gets the 4 seed Seymour gets the 5 seed If Seymour Wins: South Doyle gets the 2 seed Mo West gets the 3 seed Seymour gets the 4 Seed Cherokee gets the 5 Seed So West and SD will be on the same side of the bracket regardless, West is just playing to earn the right to host half of the bracket. While Seymour and Cherokee with face each other in the first round regardless so not much will change for Seymour either way.
  8. after tonight's games, remaining games are in parenthesis 1. Sevier Co. 11-2 (Seymour) 2. Mo. West 7-3 (SD, MEx2, SHS) 3. South Doyle 8-4 (MW, JC) 4. Seymour 6-4 (SC, CHS, MW, CC) 5. Cherokee 6-6 (CC, SHS) 6. Jefferson Co. 4-9 (SD) 7. Cocke Co. 3-9 (CHS, SHS) 8. Mo. East 2-10 (MWx2) Sevier County has clinched the 1 seed. West is in the drivers seat for the 2 seed. If they can beat SD tomorrow and Sevier beats Seymour, West would be in really good position to clinch the 2 seed. If the tournament started today it would look like this 1, Sevier Co. vs 8. Mo. East 4. Seymour vs 5. Cherokee 2. Mo. West vs 7.Cocke Co. 3. South Doyle vs. 6. Jeff. Co.
  9. He did pitch, but only the 7th inning. He just came back last friday from an injury that occurred during football season, he looked as sharp as ever though once he gets his stamina back he should be as good as ever. Will Heflin and Tyler Britt have both done well in his place though. Britt threw a 2-hit shutout in the win against Jeff County tonight, and Heflin threw 6 innings of shutout ball against them on monday.
  10. West Beat Jeff County 5-0 yesterday, tonights game was moved to tomorrow because of the weather.
  11. Mo West over the weekend Thursday Beat Grainger 8-6 Friday Lost to Mo East 11-7 Saturday Beat Elizabethton 9-1 Beat Cherokee 19-6 The Mo East and Cherokee games wont count towards the district standings because they were part of a tournament West is now 6-2 on the year and will play Dobyns-Bennett on Friday
  12. West came out flat Monday and took Cherokee a little for granted. Their ace can definitely take a unsuspecting lineup by surprise. West came out strong Tuesday and beat Cherokee 11-1 in 6.West looked like 2 different teams teams Monday and Tuesday night. I think DB in 2 weeks will be the first measuring stick for the Trojans.
  13. MoWest and Sevier have a lot coming back and should compete for 1 and 2 , but South Doyle could have something to say about that if they can get a few breaks. Seymour is always a tough out. MoEast is young but has a some talent and could sneak up on some people. Jefferson County has a lot of question marks but they're never lacking talent. Cocke Co. surprised a few people by beating GP in a scrimmage. Cherokee has a lot coming back but i don't know if they have the pitching to really make an impact this year. Should be an entertaining season for the IMAC.
  14. East will finally feel the pain Trojan fans felt in the early-mid 2000s. I'll be rooting for the Canes in this one but I think GQ will have the Rebs hitting on all cylinders after the slow start in round 1.
  15. As for West its nothing more than the cyclical nature of talent you mentioned, and a brutal schedule. West has a lot of young talent getting experience this year, and their freshman team has been really impressive this year. They should be back to being a top 5 5A team in about 2 or 3 years, maybe even next year if they can overachieve a little bit. East on the other hand seems to have grown up a lot, from the top down. They have a completely different demeanor on the field and seem to be playing as a team for the first time since 06. They haven't played a very rough out of conference schedule but played well against Sevier Co. I don't think we'll get to see how good they really are till the 6A playoffs though.
  16. Yeah, dismantled was probably a bad word to use. But Cherokee made an adjustment to take Wests best db out of the game completely, and the West staff didn't seem to do anything about it. They lined their receiver up against the sideline and ran the ball to the opposite side. It would've been smart to move him to safety because he's such a sure tackler but they never did and just got ran over all night.
  17. As much as I hate to say it, after seeing the Trojan defense get dismantled by Cherokee, I just hope West can keep it close. The haven't stoppped the run on anybody yet. Last week it looked like the offense was somewhat fixed so they might be able to control the tempo a little, but unless the defense makes a complete 180 its gonna be a long night.
  18. West will be fine, they ran into a hungry and talented Greeneville team, and Jeff actually looked pretty good to me. SC should have their way with East in this game, I don't see East beating Jeff or West.
  19. Well, congrats to Greeneville, they are a fantastic football team. I hope Haney's injury wasn't too serious, I really don't see them losing before they get to Fulton. Good luck on the rest of the season and go win another gold ball for NET.
  20. If Greeneville is hitting on all cylinders and West has an off night Greeneville will win big, but if West is hitting on all cylinders and Greeneville is having a down night West will win big. This is a match up of two teams that know how to win and know how to capitalize on mistakes. So there is no way Greeneville plays bad and walks away with a win unless West just plays worse. But all of that is academic because both of these teams will be ready to play. I think Greeneville makes more mistakes because mistakes are inevitable in the first game and West got all of that out on Saturday. West by 10.
  21. You lost all credibility even suggesting that Greeneville can not play well and still beat West. I hope the players have your attitude,if they do West will win big.
  22. If the Gville players are as overconfident as you West will put 50 on the board, but I know Ballard isn't dumb enough to let that happen.
  23. Yes, based on one game you watched with 2 intermediate passes thrown you can judge the downfield speed of the West corners. Sound logic.
  24. And if you look at their high school recruiting profiles you won't find a single 4.3 in the group.
  25. Nope, not me, all those lines and numbers are pretty confusing.
