GO HUMBOLDT!!!!!

lets get real for one second zebra... who have the vikes played that has had a decent QB since McKenzie? no one...The trenton kid hit two wide open recievers for touchdowns but that was about it... We have not been challenged in awhile.. The second part of the season consisted of Trenton, Greenfield, Lake County, Union City...and no offense, they did not a great QB at all... so you correct me if i am wrong and please tell me when we have played a quality QB the second part of the year... I have been to every game this year.. I have watched them play each week and i know what i know... disagree if you want, but the truth is the truth.. I do not want to take any credit away from our secondary because we have indeed been incredible.. but the real credit goes to our pass rush.. most of our interceptions have come when the opposing QB just chunks the ball up and prays for his receiver to catch it...Our pass rush is legit.. I want to give a standing ovation to the new Defensive Coach this year on an excellent season...Great Job Coach!!! I am not saying this to put all these kids down... I know they play their heart out and that is truly what matters. I am sorry if this offends anyone, i am just trying to prove a point.

McKenzie (I know atleast one but i am thinking it was two), South Fulton, Trenton... Jo Byrns had one... But i will say this...That was when the QB was running around trying to find a reciever. That means that the vikings did in fact maintain coverage for a good amount of time, but when we play against a QB who can move around and avoid the rush and extend the play, thats when recievers get wide open... disagree if you want to, but facts are facts!

Humboldt will do their talking on the field... All these fans get on here and give their opinion of how they think this game is going to go down, and thats just it... ITS YOUR OPINION!! FACT is, the game wont be played til Friday, and whoever wants it more will go and get it. As far as Dresden's football team, I dont know much about them..I have heard that they are a great team and will bring it to the Vikings this Friday night... Humboldt Fans, I love and respect all of you, but the boys will play the game Friday, and we have no need in trying to predict what is going to go down.. Talk is cheap, and especially coming from fans, it doesnt mean a single thing... I am excited for this game.. I believe that it will be a great playoff football game... I see a great Defensive Football game this week between two great football teams. If they (both teams) were not good, they would not be in this game. I am a Humboldt fan and i ALWAYS will be, but as far as talking all this trash, I just sit back and laugh...it is not doing any good to the boys, just making us fans feel better about our opinions. to Dresden, good luck and safe travels... you will have your hands full no doubt. Our defense is very aggressive and we play physical.. if you have a good quarterback that can throw the ball decent, you will have success. we have a lot of interceptions this year, but they were against teams with less than average QBs (no offense to anyone). The QBs we played that were decent this year threw multiple touchdowns on us and they were to WIDE OPEN recievers. But to throw the ball, you will have to slow our pass rush down... which is not an easy task at all... Humboldt will have their hands beyond full this week.. playing an excptional football team and i expect nothing less than their A game.. Since you guys have 8 films on us, i really dont have to say much about our Offense now do i? the factor this week will be our O Line.. We have to keep our blocks for three seconds, just long enough for our speed to bust out... GOOOOOO VIKINGS!!!

This game is all about who wants it more.. I believe that Humboldt will come out ready to play this game.. Humboldt will change nothing about their game plan friday night.. attack! attack! attack! GO VIKINGS!!!!

Bigster... I am with you on if you stop Humboldt's run that you might get the W...but Our O Line has really improved this year. Game by Game they have gotten better. Our Pass game will be good, i promise. It doesnt take much for a QB to hit a wide open full back or tight end five yards out and let them run for days . especially if there is 10 men in the box.... should be interesting. how is LCs pass rush? GO VIKINGS!!!

my friend, I agree with you that the game is keyed up front with the line, but it also is keyed on who is better prepared for the other team. If Lake Co stops our run, we might be in trouble, but i expect the coaching staff to have our QB ready to throw the ball around with success. I just hope that our boys show up to play Friday and if I know Coach Bland like I think that I do, the boys will be hyped for this one. GO VIKINGS!

I am thinking that this will be a very physical game and a very memorable game. I am hoping that the weather will be good for both teams. I dont wont any excuses in this game. both teams playing to their fullest potential and winner taking all. I think that Humboldt will pull away with a Win, but i dont think that it will be easy. I am looking for intensity to be the key factor in this one. Whoever wants it more. I really dont know how to predict this one... this year, when Humboldt has jumped out early with a big lead, it has not looked good the rest of the game, until trenton last friday.. after trenton scored there two touchdowns in the first half, Humboldt came out a dominated on D. last year, Humboldt jumped out early with a 21-0 lead on Lake Co and had to convert on a two point conversion to win in overtime So i dont know how to go with this one as far as predicting this game. we shall see... GO VIKINGS!!!!

Bigster.. I will tell you the truth about this team from Humboldt. They are very good. point blank. We have a few mental errors thorughout the game as do all teams. the biggest killer for humboldt this week is being off from school all week for fall break. I am hoping the coaches will keep them focused this week. we will talk about Humboldt's O first. Speed is the key word as it has been with Humboldt for quite sometime now. We have a couple youg offensive lineman that are getting better as the season goes. Our running game is where its at no doubt. we have three guys that are quick, two guys that will flaten you, and then a couple guys that you'l try and touch but they make it near impossible with all their moves. Our passing game is improving each week. It took the Halls and the Greenfields to get the confidence but the young qb is looking pretty good now. still alot to learn, but definitely improving. I will say that everyone has stacked 9 or 10 and one team had 11 in the box against us to stop the run, but i wouldnt advise it now. We are much more confisent in our passing game now and i look for us to throw it more. we have three tremendous recievers and two tight ends who can catch the ball. I look for Humboldt to play well this week. Humboldt's D is easy to expalain. PHYSICAL!!! two senior linebackers who are trying to take someone's head off each time the ball is snapped. If i heard right, humboldt has the most forced turnovers in our district. I hope that we do not have mental breakdowns in coveragae this week because i truly think that will beat us against a team like lake county. our run defense is awesome. the pass is where i get scared. as far as all this butt whooping and Humboldt winning big, I say we wait til friday and let the kids play for the outcome. they will prove themselves much more than we ever could talk on here. Zebra, Its been the late second half scores that have happened with the pass.. South Fulton.... Mckenzie... Trenton is the only one that scored on two first half passes due to a DB going for the pick and blown coverage. We just ran over Trenton's O Line in the second half and gave him no time to throw.

Well, Tonight should be a beautiful night. I know that the intensity level has been alot different this week for the Humboldt boys. I hope to see them come out of the gate hot tonight and never look back... this is one of those games that you look forward to every year. I pray for an injury free game and great sportsmanship during this heated rivalry. It should be a good one. Go Vikings!!!

King, I am very much in agreement with you. These past two games i have to give a 'Standing O' to the play calling of the coaching staff. They went into Halls and threw the ball like i was hoping that they would and continued it against Greenfield. It has given alot of confidence to the young QB. He is now looking at where his WRs are rather than doing a three step and throw as far as you can toward the sideline. I look for Humboldt to come out hot against Trenton. I know that Trenton might have alot riding on this one, but this is a rivalry game and Humboldt will be there ready to play, you have my word. The coaches have created monsters on Defense this year... Definitely head hunting. Our O will be Key in this one.. If we come out early and establish our passing game along with our running game, this will be a long night for the Tide. If we dont, it could come down to the end.. Humboldt has to stay focused in this one... i have noticed that the players have been getting a little cocky a little to early in games. We will have to play til the end in this one. I expect the same intensity of the Jo Byrns game if not more. I am excited for this one. I watched the Trenton Milan game. I expect them to be alot better for this game.

I am excited for this weeks game. After last year, the Vikes should have a chip on their shoulder. they get, what would appear to be a break away game winning touchdown, but he is horse-collared at the 1. then they are held on four plays at the 1 to lose. Humboldt should be ready to play this game.. as far as I know, we will be healty again and have a few startes back that we didnt have the JB game. I look for humboldt's D to play like they have all year, and I look for the offense to break out like they did against JB. I look for mckenzie to be mckenzie. a good football program. It doesnt matter how bad they have or havent been, Humboldt gets Mckenzie's best every year, and i have no doubt that Mckenzie will show out this year. this will be, like always, a great football game.. a blowout for either team would definitely surprise me. I see a great DEFENSIVE game coming on. good luck to both teams and may they be safe from injuries... GO VIKES!

Humboldt had a kid out last night that is a lock down corner as well as a reciever/running back that didnt play! He is very very impressive as a sophmore. JB will be okay I do believe. You cant do much when your team is overwhelmed with speed like JB was last night. Humboldt was very hungry for that win, and it showed. The rebels will get all they want, considering the talent we have as well as how they beat Humboldt last year! Its gonna be a great one! Go Vikings!

Guys and gals... I had a feeling it was going to be this way! Humboldt showed up and showed out!! Great game boys! The JB D-line or O-line couldnt hold Homboldt tonight.... If JBs QB wasnt mobile, it would have been alot uglier.. A few things we have to work on is break downs in coverage, but overall, this is what I like to see our boys do! Good luck to JB on the rest of the season..

Humboldt has the chance of being really good this year. A few things have to happen in order for Humboldt to be "the real deal".. for one, the backs have to realize that ball games are not won on style points, but rather on who scores the most touchdowns. we have to keep the ball outside with the unreal speed that we have. second thing, our QB has to get his timing down. he is about a hair off of being amazing as a sophmore. Humboldt's D will speak for itself, I hope! they are very very very quick. #30 is on a mission this year. as a senior linebacker, he gets in on most every play! same goes for #32! cant wait for this one... If JB scores 35, their Offense must be unreal.. We held Milan to 10 points, and the field goal they had was inside the 10 after we held them to 0 yards on three plays. i dont think that JB will have the size that Milan did on the O-Line. If JB does score 35, i will eat my words happily, but i dont see it happening.. I am going with a low scoring close game! Good Luck to keeping #30 and #32 out of your backfield..These kids are UNREAL this year! I hope this game will be worth the travel friday and taking a day of vacation to see it! I am looking forward to this game. What should we expect from JB?

In all honesty, the vikes got careless after a 21-0 lead in the second half. If the Defense that played against Milan shows up the rest of the year, I have a hard time believing that the Vikes will lose a regular season game. I wouldnt say that Milan is as good as the past, but lets face it, Milan is Milan regardless. I dont see them with a loss in the regualr season as well. Humboldts backs have to hit the hole when it is there and stop trying to cupid shuffle through the middle...the past two games i have seen Humboldt miss out on atleast 4 td's if they would have just stayed outside like the play is designed. if humboldt hits the corner, your not catching them, but we are having a tough time realizing that we have to get to the corner first. As far as the pass game goes, we have a young QB who is still learning alot... one of things is his timing. He is on the verge of breaking out and being a tremendous QB, and once he does, its going to be an even more impressive Humboldt Team. I cant really give a prediction to this game because i have no clue what JB has... I wish both teams luck and let it be a great game.. Go Vikes!
