  1. I think you are wrong, only two of them play this friday Giles Co vs Pearl Cohn, Fulton and Greenville won't play until next week. Also the Quad 2 teams records are 33-11.
  2. This Chiefs fan is pulling for the Wildcats, go Polk !!!
  3. Thats smart talk, that means we made it to round four...even if we got hammered there it would be better than losing in rd 2 or 3 .
  4. Chiefs looked good tonight, defense once again played great, they are really clicking on both sides of the ball, only down side tonight for the Chiefs were to many penalties...score could of been alot worse than it was. Some stats for you football junkies Sequoyah total offense was 56 plays for 376 yards....rushing was 35 carries for 225 yards, passing was 14 of 21 for 151 yards and 1 interception. The chiefs averaged 6.7 yards per play. Chatt Central total offense was 43 plays for 132 yards...rushing was 36 carries for 99 yards, passing was 4 of 7 for 33 yards and 2 interceptions. the Pounders averaged 3 yards per play These stats are not offical but I write down every play and they are real close.
  5. Sequoyah had 9 penalties for 90 yards called on them. Chattanooga Central had 5 for 45 yards called on them. Your friends need to get their facts straight.
  6. How did the scrimmage with Alcoa go ?
  7. Go Chiefs !!!! That offensive line is HUGE, wont see many teams with that kind of size !!!
  8. Thanks DumDum, looks like the schedule is a little tougher. Two things i hope to see the Chiefs do, 1) got to get better defensively and 2) we need to run the ball better- passing game was great but you have to be able to run the ball some. I am also glad to see Loudon in the district now, i think as a whole the district is getting better.
  9. According to the Monroe county Advocate-Democrat, Loudon will be moved to district 5AA after a vote on a confrence call today between the Board of Control and Sequoyah & Sweetwater High Schools. 5AA will now be Sequoyah, Sweetwater, Loudon, Polk County, McMinn Central and Collegedale Acadamy (non football school).
  10. This was actually a good game going into the fourth quarter, Chiefs had the ball on the seven and threw a int in the endzone that polk ran back out to mid field. If the Chiefs would have scored there it would have been a 6 point game at 33-28 but polk went on to score and that was it. Difference in the game #35 for Polk, he had his way tonight. Sequoyah has to learn how to stop a run game been a problem all season. Thought the Chiefs played hard though and it was a good game. Sequoyah depends to much on the passing game, need to run it more. Polk out hit the Chiefs and they were the better team.
  11. Until somebody proves otherwise Polk is the team to beat in this district but they better not take Sequoyah lightly, this is not the same ole Chiefs, the reason i say this is their program is improving. They are a better coached team than in years past and thus better prepared, because of this the kids believe and thats what you want. I might miss the mark on this but i think this game is a toss up. Go Chiefs.
  12. You are right but i do think whoever wins this game, will then have a win over a quality opponent.
  13. I think the Chiefs will take this one, the offense has been playing great. Got to give it to Scott County though, those dudes have played one tough schedule. I also agree with ChiefRedDad, Alex Stakely had a heck of a game against Central.
  14. Sequoyah did not on-side kick the whole night, they always either pooch kick or squib kick, teams do that all the time. They did not do that against Meigs either, just because its kicked along the ground does not mean its a on-side kick. No use in kicking it deep and setting up cheap shots all over the field. lol
  15. Jerome Felton - Minnesota Vikings - He played at Sequoyah High School in Monroe County
  16. Chiefs win 42-21. Offense looked good 1st half got the big lead and seem to come out a little flat in the second half, run defense needs to keep working to improve, think it hurt having a few starters out on D. over all good job just keep winning. Central has some playmakers #5 looks good for sure. I thought the difference would be if the Chargers pass defense could or could not slow down the Chiefs passing attack, they did not. King was near 300 yard passing.
  17. The defense has got better each weak, linebackers are really good and very physical but the defense is not as far along as the offense is.
  18. King has played very well, Sequoyah is a very balanced offense and the play calling has been great. King was on this team last year, he was just playing behind Dyer. He is still just a junior. The Chiefs get alot kids back next year, they lose a few good ones but for the most part they are a young team.
  19. Chiefs should take this one. What the final score is will be determined by how well Central can defend the pass, the Chiefs are very good on offense and really spread the ball around to about six or seven different kids. The Chiefs offense is leaps and bounds better than last years team, Sequoyahs offensive cordinator has made a huge difference, he can call a game as well as anyone i have seen in this area. The next few weeks will tell me alot more about Sequoyah but dont be suprised if they win the district.
  20. I really don't know, from what i have heard they played alot of freshmen in the JV games, Sequoyah's oline was very young last year, i don't think those guys played in the jv games only varsity. Chiefs return alot on both sides of the ball, offense - see my other post ^^, Defense should also be much improved, they did lose two seniors off the defensive line that will be tough to replace, I really think that the linebackers as a group, will be the best that Sequoyah has ever had, they will be the strenth of the defense, they have four very good linebackers, their middle linebacker last year was just a freshman, this kid is gonna be really, really good he is a bull, their defensive backs were really young last year also, they have good speed and should be much improved, as they need too, they really struggled at times in this area last year. I am not one to just blow smoke, but i do believe that the Chiefs have the talent to win the district next year, alot will depend on the coaching staff, who they bring in and who is coaching where, Polk is the team to beat in this district and that is because of their coaching, or coaches will have to match them, to beat them.
  21. Don't know, all depends who the new cordinator is, I would think that they will continue to use the power game quite abit, their line is huge and their backfield is big and physical. Their offense was very simple last year, they just lined up and ran it right at people, the games they won they just overpowered the defenses, would like to see them add some variety to the offense ie..passing a little more, screens and some mis-direction in the run game. They have speed at the reveiver positions and some of their backs, with the right offensive play calling they will be very good on offense.
  22. He is probably the only one that they lose that hurts a little, but both the kids that were behind him are pretty good, towards the end of the season, they were using the second qb quite abit, he was a better passer, Dyer was a runner. Biggest thing that will help the Chiefs is that they will have a new offensive cordinator. I really think their offense will be better next season.
  23. Chiefs return most their starters on both sides, Look for Sequoyah to be a good team in 2012, should finish in top two of the district.
  24. you are wrong about Sequoyah losing alot of starters on both sides, the Chiefs were a very young team last year, 8 to 9 returning starters on both sides of the ball. Look for Sequoyah to be a pretty good team, their backfield will be really good, big oline with powerful backs.
