At the risk of reviving a dead horse ... I've known I was going to need to eventually involve myself in this to clear up a couple of things, and I wasn't going to be able to rest until some things got said. First, there's typically been a 'gentlemen's agreement' on CoachT to not attack kids. Pale, regardless of how you try to couch it on the back end, you took a shot at my son that was unnecessary, unwarranted and -- as the past two state tournament podiums have shown -- inaccurate. I'm not sure what your definition of 'average' is, but if back-to-back fourth-place finishes are it, I'm betting there would be a lot of folks signing up. Say what you want about me, but you apparently know where I can be found -- which is more than I can say for you -- and nobody ever stepped to me regarding the subject. It's pretty shameful in my opinion that you felt the need to drag a high school athlete into whatever argument you were making or whatever defending you were doing of a staff that I have discussed the situation with and made amends with, so save that as well. For personal reasons, my son was disappointed that he didn't get the opportunity to wrestle in one of the most respected invitational tournaments in this area, if not the state. That disappointment bubbled over into a situation that probably shouldn't have occurred. It didn't, however, deserve for him to be maligned in the manner you chose to. Sincerely, The Hothead
  4. Yeah ... I don't remember anybody getting hurt at the state wrestling tournament before it left Chattanooga ...
  5. And then people wonder 1) why there are no rankings, and 2) why it takes so long ...
  6. HoosierDad -- what does the origination of the article have to do with the 'ratting out'?

  8. Issue, if there is one, will be that Tommy isn't teaching in the building at Clarksville, but rather at Northwest Middle. So he won't actually be bringing Beau to school with him. That said, hope it all works out for them to both be in purple and gold.
  9. Re: Kramer/Ryan tourney -- 'flu-like symptoms', as I recall ... seems it was going through the team (no pun intended) at the time ... couple of others missed as well ... FWIW ...
  10. Note that at 138 -- four of the top seven returners will be in the same district in 2013-14 ...

Coach Joe Blair said Hamilton sustained the injury last season. “He’s facing about four to six months recovery time,†Blair said. “But it should be fine by next year.†Blair said Chattanooga still has recruiting interest in Hamilton, who went 40-4 last year. http://www.tennessean.com/article/20121119/SPORTS07/311190034/2012-13-high-school-wrestling-primer?odyssey=mod|newswell|text|Sports|p

  13. From 6/1 Tennessean: JPII AD steps down: Rocky Zazzaro resigned Wednesday as athletics director at Pope John Paul II after 16 months. “JPII is a great place to be,†said Zazzaro, 47. “The kids are good, the parents are good. It just didn’t work out. I think the program’s in a better place now than when I got there. It just wasn’t a good fit, for them or me. I decided, for everyone’s sake, this was the best thing.†In mid-April, the former Cumberland County principal hired Gallatin native Jerry Joslin as football coach at the Hendersonville school after the resignation of Jeff Rutledge. “I am thankful for the hard work and service that Mr. Zazzaro has given JPII during the time he’s been with us,†Headmaster Faustin Weber said. “I am particularly grateful for his efforts in helping us build the new athletic facilities in such a compressed time frame. I wish him and his family well.â€
