At the risk of reviving a dead horse ...
I've known I was going to need to eventually involve myself in this to clear up a couple of things, and I wasn't going to be able to rest until some things got said.
First, there's typically been a 'gentlemen's agreement' on CoachT to not attack kids. Pale, regardless of how you try to couch it on the back end, you took a shot at my son that was unnecessary, unwarranted and -- as the past two state tournament podiums have shown -- inaccurate. I'm not sure what your definition of 'average' is, but if back-to-back fourth-place finishes are it, I'm betting there would be a lot of folks signing up.
Say what you want about me, but you apparently know where I can be found -- which is more than I can say for you -- and nobody ever stepped to me regarding the subject. It's pretty shameful in my opinion that you felt the need to drag a high school athlete into whatever argument you were making or whatever defending you were doing of a staff that I have discussed the situation with and made amends with, so save that as well.
For personal reasons, my son was disappointed that he didn't get the opportunity to wrestle in one of the most respected invitational tournaments in this area, if not the state. That disappointment bubbled over into a situation that probably shouldn't have occurred. It didn't, however, deserve for him to be maligned in the manner you chose to.
Sincerely,
The Hothead
