  1. Way too early to tell, but this is gonna be a good one. GB hitting stride with a win, Oneida starting to come together. I'm thinking home team due to the travel, but don't want to count anyone out yet. GB looks long and athletic, Oneida looks as always, built to pound. Looked like GB had some trouble with the run, but Megis helped them out with a couple fumbles, Oneida DBs will have to work this week to stop GB. So lots to think about before 7:30 P.M. on Friday.
  2. Guys, one quick comment. You know that the kids playing QB now has been taking snaps since he was a sophomore, that he was the #2 guy then, and last year went back to the WR position exclusively but still took numerous snaps in practice. I wouldn't call him the #3 QB, I would say more like 1-B( if you have #1 and #1-A). All three guys are talented in special ways. I would trust the ball in any of the three's hands, they are all seniors and the next one is a Junior HB so we are not affected. #nextmanup!
  3. Ok, i can't contain it anymore. I have been quiet all year and listened to everything Watch some very good football too. But I will call it out. Two teams played very hard in poor conditions. Congrats to SC. Now what everyone who was there knows is that the sticks moved to stop an Oneida first down. One play does not make a game, but when a team is driving right after the other team took the lead and you are a bout to get the lead back sure is a BIG MO changer. The chains moved and the official moved the line clip before taking the chains out to measure. ENOUGH SAID. I still say good game by both teams and congrats to SG, good luck.
  4. I guess all the rain is going to everyone's head. Any given Friday, that's why the games are played and why stats do not win championships. Do not believe stats, strength of schedules, previous match ups, etc.
  5. Football's a funny game, where would the game have gone minus the blocked punt??? Hmmmm think on that one. Guess it wasn't a run a way like many thought, some tough young men on both sides. Congrats to a HV team, good luck next week and be prepared to be hit. But I digress; Shutting it down for 2017. Enjoyed a great year out of a team that overachieved. I looked across the sideline last night and I saw Indian after Indian ready to go and contributing. This team will get better, I mean there were sophomore backs that will contribute, sophomore quarterback, sophomore receivers, sophomore linemen that will contribute on offense, with that being said the Juniors will be more than ready to lead as seniors. Now defensively, secondary will improve, defensive line will strengthen, but three linebackers to replace, but I saw those replacements as I looked up and down the OHS sideline. I'm looking forward to next year, congrats to the young men on a season well played and if you see any of them tell them that!
  6. Well, I have been quiet all year. Been preoccupied with some other things. Been keeping up with OHS but things aren't bright. It's the almost the midway point and I know improvement is coming. Too good of a coaching staff to let it get away. This Game will be hard fought. I recall three sorry years of losing to GP in the 80's. We had a very good chance up at ole GP in 1987 but came up a bit short. With the round and round of High School Football, streaks do come to an end. This could be a year it happens. I hope OHS finds the offense this week and puts up over 20 on ole GP. ROLL ON INDIANS.
  7. Same bracket. I'd watch out for any of the eight, it will come down to pitching. Appears that Summertown and Grace have the staffs to pitch 4 games from the research I have done.
  8. bluecollar, it was a critical call. It didn't just stop at the ejection. So emotions were high and I understand. Bad for both teams. By the way, Oneida wasn't afraid of his pitching, lead off hit a liner to left which was caught, 2nd batter stuck out, third batter walked, fourth batter struck out. But by my count that was four players to the plate when NG only sent 3 against the OHS ace in the first. I was actually thinking we were going extra innings based on how the pitchers started. Game had other interesting events too. The NG pitcher hit two consecutive batters in the side of the face. Lots of laughs from the third baseline right after.
  9. Winning with him on the hill, I guess no one will ever know. What happened is usually something that happens to Oneida, be it football, basketball, or baseball. I have seen Officials cause many an Oneida loss over the years. I can think of one football game against Greenback at Oneida in 2013 to name one. Officials are part of the game too. Each are human just like the players. Critical call, but if you are important to your team, don't get put in a spot like that.
  10. tmoney, its not worth the argument. I agree NG has a great team. Had many an opportunity to win as well. I have one question and that is where were you standing when the incident you speak of occurred? Intense game, I can see where things could flare up at anytime. Lots on the line for both clubs. So, the batter got hit in the mouth and it split his lip and you say it was from the glove?
  11. Are you serious? I had no idea that one player made your team. Last I knew it was 9 playing at a time. Let's see OHS sent 4 to the plate in the first and NG sent 3. Well since he is a senior he should have played with more leadership. Swinging an elbow at a player is little class. And if you think it wasn't intentional you are bad wrong. I was a few feet away and looking right at it. All you saw was his back so you saw nothing. Scoreboard had OHS on top and they left Oneida thinking they would win!!!!
  12. The Oneida Indians went to North Greene expecting to win and did. A series of events went their way and never let up on defense. Expect more of the same. Going to surprise some folks, keep an eye on them!
  13. Is Coalfield post season eligible this year? It will be an interesting year no doubt. I figure Coalfield would be good. Hope this season continues on the positive note for everyone and that injuries are minor if they happen.
  14. Well, the district is starting to take shape. Looks like we all figured right that Oneida would be the front runner. Now is OS or OAK going to emerge as second. How is OAK's pitching this year?
  15. Based on my limited knowledge of Single A, basically two districts, 3A and 4A, I would have to say Grace and Oneida are the front runners there, with Rockwood and Midway battling there for second and Oliver Springs and Oakdale in the other. GCA and OHS returned a lot of good players from rosters last year, so it should be those two in the regional finals and going to the sectional games. Both could even end up in Murfreesboro. Should be a great year
  16. I wouldn't say best players. Last year was a team effort and this team will be even better. When the core remains from last year's team you have to pick them. Oakdale should give a good effort in the district, but no one else will. The region will be interesting. Didn't really come close last year? Got beat in the sub-state game at North Greene and if I remember correctly a long bus ride, a weather delay, and a cold cold night where they should not have played until the next day. Just remember what wins the World Series, it's usually Pitching and Defense, haven't seen many 11 to 12 games on that level and you will not in the region and sate tourneys either. Oneida should have both of those element this year. I'd pick them to make sub-state again, and in a one game winner take all anything can happen. That's why you play the game.
  17. I figure that Coalfield will be stronger, but did they not make themselves unable to play in the post season this year as well? OS is usually pretty stable and Wartburg may have improved. It would just be nice to see someone from 4-A playing at State. Been a long time since Coalfiled was there for the District.
  18. If you looked to the east I guess the front runners are North Greene, Grace Christian, and Oneida. All going to be tough.
  19. Oneida lost 4 players to graduation. The top pitcher in the District from last year returns. A pitcher that was awesome his Sophomore year is health. The middle infielders are back for their 4th year together. I'd say that it will be a productive year for them, just was not sure how much Oakdale returned, I think 5 of 9 starters, but only one pitcher? is that true?
  20. Is Oneida going to be the front runner this year? Two Championships in a row leads one to think so, but who is going to challenge?
  21. With class and respect OHS was not the best team on the field tonight. But a lesson to learn ........ PCC 4 life
  22. Boy so much for sportsmanship from a Christian school. Terrible example
  23. Ain't no where to park a half-time hauler here!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. I started to catch up on reading everything and I said the heck with it. I had to be out of town today so I couldn't stay in tune. From what I did read I will agree, it will be won tonight by the special teams. I guarantee it. Which begs me to offer after knowing what has happened in the past to the GCA team on kickoffs and how much improved the OHS return has gotten, will Sexton the GCA kicker put the ball in the hands of Sexton or Bowling the OHS returners? I see trouble on the rise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
