Riverdale host Cookeville what’s your thoughts
jhawk23 replied to playoffs's topic in Class 5A & Class 6A
And Oakland typically likes to play man to man and dare you to beat them 1-on-1 on the outside, but my guess is they thought better of that in that matchup because most teams can't pass like Riverdale can. If those two do meet again it will be interesting to see if Oakland changes anything up defensively. -

And the problem with that is those great receivers could beat you deep and Graham will likely throw it on the money. Really tough to defend. I actually thought Oakland's defense did a pretty good job for the most part and Riverdale still put up 25 -
GALLATIN @ OAKLAND -FIRST ROUND OF PLAYOFFS

Congrats on a good season. Gallatin played tough for a quarter and a half. Things are headed in the right direction under Stroup -
GALLATIN @ OAKLAND -FIRST ROUND OF PLAYOFFS

Yep, 3 time defending state champs are yesterday’s news this year -
Don’t recall seeing anyone “hating” on Cookeville or saying that Siegel would win. Congrats on the win, good luck in Round 2
-
Let me start by saying that I would pick Cookeville to win this game, but as others have stated I don't think it's a lock by any means. You're awfully confident for a fan of a program that has had very little postseason success in its history and hasn't made it past the 1st round since 2017

GALLATIN @ OAKLAND -FIRST ROUND OF PLAYOFFS
jhawk23 replied to runninblind's topic in Class 5A & Class 6A
I would say that Gallatin will get Oakland's best game this week because of what happened last week and that may be true, but I also think anyone who plays Oakland from here on out is going to get their best just because that's what they do this time of year. It is nice to see these two playing again, I would definitely like to see them schedule a home and home in the near future as well -
You should change your display name to CaptainObvious

He likes to post this same thing on multiple threads. It won't be the last time you see it this week, and probably not even the last time on this same thread.

Bradley central is Ranked #10 in Nation
jhawk23 replied to Bradleysports23's topic in Class 5A & Class 6A
Very misleading title, and there’s no way Bradley is #10 in the nation -
I think that’s understandable especially for those who haven’t watched Oakland much this year, but they haven’t been as dominant as in years past and a lot of it has to do with the QB position. But make no mistake they are good enough to win it again too
-
No one is invincible, including Bradley this year. 6A is wide open, and it shouldn’t take an Oakland loss last night for a lot of folks to realize that. Those who have paid attention know that has been the case all year
-
Thought about this earlier, it’s been a long time for sure
-
I think Gallatin’s prize for beating Lebanon tonight is Oakland next week
-
Heck of a game, congrats to Riverdale on the victory. The 2 point conversion was crazy but bottom line is Oakland’s defense had a chance to stop them before it ever came to that and couldn’t get it done

There’s no doubt Creasy is just fine with someone else getting the hype

Bradley 9-0 vs bearden 7-2 for the regional championship
jhawk23 replied to Bradleysports23's topic in Class 5A & Class 6A
Who are "people everywhere"? Not only have I not seen anyone predicting a blowout in favor of Bearden, on CoachT and other places, I've seen as many people predicting Bradley to win as those predicting Bearden to win. -
Exactly
-
No idea what he’s doing now but he isn’t at Riverdale. He’s normally a commentator during the state championship games
-
Well said. Plenty of teams have one or the other, not very many have both. Another thing that gets overlooked with Oakland sometimes is their depth
-
^^^^^ It will all be settled in the next 5 weeks
-
Thanks, I only knew of 2 INTs that were thrown. I would also agree with Freeman being more talented, but it’s likely that Oakland will continue to play both going forward
-
Correct me if I’m wrong as I only saw highlights of the game, but I thought Creasy was the only one to throw an INT last night
-
Ravenwood blocked a punt and recovered for a TD in the opening minute to go up 6-0. Oakland threw an INT on their next offensive possession which Ravenwood returned to the Oakland 5 setting up their next score to go up 12-0. Oakland then scored 35 unanswered to go up 35-12 by the end of the 3rd

Bradley has a lot more to worry about than just Bearden next week before even thinking about Oakland
