  1. Just wishful thinking by most who say they are.
  2. Would be better to have less classes for sure but I doubt it’ll ever happen. It’s all about the $$$
  3. Even in a “down” year for Maryville that’s not likely. No idea if they’ll truly be down next year or not but even if so I’d bet on them being right back in the semifinals against Oakland next year.
  4. It does make sense. I guess we'll know for sure if/when some ex-Lipscomb guys end up at Hoover next year. He has already started offering scholarships to some of his former Lipscomb players so I wouldn't doubt it at all.
  5. Just to follow up on this since I ran across the stat earlier and thought it was impressive.. Since Creasy took over at Oakland in 2015, his record is 110-7 with 4 state championships 79-12 in 7 seasons at Trousdale County with 3 state championships Total record 189-19 with 7 state championships
  6. Didn't Fayetteville move to 2A starting next year?
  7. Chattanooga offers a lot for sure, it's a great place to host them. Out of curiosity, would Cookeville be at the bottom of your list? I haven't attended the event in Chattanooga yet, but I have been to the other locations. I feel like most if not all of the options mentioned in this thread would be better than having them in Cookeville again.
  8. I'd agree about Creasy being the best in the state. Trousdale was fortunate to have him for as long as they did.
  9. I think a problem with that as others have mentioned is that Neyland is so large, the place would look so empty. Also, does Neyland have a natural grass surface? I've heard that mentioned before as a reason the games weren't played at Nissan Stadium
  10. I honestly don't know if hosting them in a more centralized location would help that much with attendance numbers. I'm sure it would help some but I wouldn't expect a drastic improvement. Nowadays there are more ways than ever of being able to watch/stream games online, I honestly prefer watching at home myself just from the standpoint of being able to see the action better.
  11. Good point about Neyland and the new Titans stadium being too big. It already looks empty when they're played at the sites that have hosted them the last several years. I know in Texas they can play their games in huge stadiums and fill them up but the fan interest in Texas is a different animal than here in TN.
  12. It would just feel kinda strange playing the games in a soccer stadium
  13. Both of those were great. I went to the Oakland-LA game last year. One of the best high school games I’ve seen in person
  14. That’s true, kinda tough to be picky at this point.
  15. I noticed Dilfer has already begun extending scholarship offers to some of his LA players
  16. Would love to see Alcoa & Oakland play each other at some point
  17. Officials are underpaid and under appreciated for sure. It’s a tough job Appreciative of all the folks who are willing to do it because they love the game
  18. That’s an interesting point.
  19. Agree with this, hopefully Nashville will make it happen when the new stadium is built.
  20. People tend to hate programs that win. At all levels and all different sports.
  21. Congrats to Anderson Co on the state championship. One of the best games of the weekend for sure. I thought it was interesting how the head coach was up in the booth. I’m sure there are other teams who do that but I honestly don’t recall ever seeing it before
  22. I’d like to see Beech & Oakland play against each other more in the future. Love the way that Beech plays the game and Coach Crabtree is a great coach & class act as well. It would be good for both programs
  23. Congrats, very dominant program and hard to see it slowing down any time soon. I’d take Creasy over any other coach in the state With Oakland’s loaded sophomore class, this run has a chance to be something even more remarkable than it already is
  24. Yep. Oakland has always had talented players. The difference that elite coaching makes should never be understated
