  1. Apparently, they lost the location both weekends.
  2. No, he was registered in the 2012 Cliff Keen Reno World Championships. I heard he wanted to do the duals, but could not make 85 anymore.
  3. Not sure about the middle school. I heard they did pretty good, but don't know where they finished.
  4. Tennessee finished 5th in the Gold Bracket. This was Tennessee's highest finish ever. All results can be seen here http://www.visitkingsport.com/component/content/article/42/172-wrestling-results.html
  5. I understand. Everything you do is in TN already. I wasn't really mad about it since it didn't affect my kid. I know some of the kids that it did affect. They were not happy about it. I was sticking up for them since I agreed with them. No hard feelings.
  6. Please tell me what I lied about. I said my son got SECOND at state not first. Torrence Dumas is the GA state champ at 84. My son pinned him at the Dixie Nationals. It is all on trackwrestling. Do your research before calling someone a liar. I never said my son had an out of state kid in his bracket. It is okay to stick up for all of the TN wrestlers, and not just my kid. I stand up for what I believe in. I'm just simply stating my opinion. Once again, I am not scared. I just don't think it is right. In my opinion you wrestle in YOUR state for a state championship, not a different one. That is why it is called a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. I completely comprehend your view on this subject. I just don't agree with you. I guess we will wrestle in the Indiana state next year since my family and friends live there. After that we will wrestle for the Canadian national championship since its just an imaginary line. Also, you said "If I was the only one whining and crying about something I would get the hint and stop embarrassing myself." You are doing exactly what you are speaking about. You tell us not to make stuff up, yet call me liar when I never lied about a thing. YOU are making stuff up about me. You come on here calling us names, and acting like a child. I think you should look in a mirror to see who is embarrassing themselves. It is possible to debate something like adults. I'm just wasting my time arguing with you. I guess since I don't agree with you that makes me a liar, sissy, pansy, whiner, and a crier. I acknowledged that you have good points. I just don't agree. Both of us have a valid argument, and will just have to follow whatever is voted upon.
  7. We will pray for Mark and the family. That is terrible news. Dustyn is a great wrestler. I was wondering why I didn't see him at any tournaments this year.
  8. It was Torrence Dumas from Compound Wrestling. He won state this year at 84 lbs. Torrence actually beat Cameo in the finals 4-3.

  9. Brayden Palmer. He is a 1st year Junior. 85 LBS. He lost in the finals at state 3-0. Won state last year as a midget. Freestyle/Greco state champ 3 years in a row. 3 2nd place finishes at nationals, 3rd once, and 5th once. Team Chattanooga last year. Team TN this year.

  10. My boy cant wrestle in GA as we are from TN. Although, my kid already wrestled the GA state champ at the dixie nationals, and pinned him in a minute. Maybe you were talking about heresyourstupidsign's son?
  11. That is a good point I have not heard. They can switch it up each year, and always be on the older end of their age group for state.
  12. We are not scared. We have done did 2 national tournaments and are planning on 3 more within the next month. We live about 10 minutes from KY actually. We do all our shopping in KY because the taxes are lower. I get that you do everything Chattanooga, but you still don't live in TN. I would like you to come our regular tournaments all year to get us better competition. The point of state is to find out who the best in that state is. You don't live in TN, therefore cannot be the best in TN. Non TN kids should not wrestle in the TN state. Let me ask you a couple questions. Do you get a TN driver's license since you are so close to the border? Do you vote in TN? Do you have a TN licence plate on your car? Will your kids wrestle in the TN high school state since its only 5 minutes? Why are you so scared to wrestle in the GA state championship?
  13. 1) Never said you should be held accountable. The tournament has already been held. The kids were already given their medals. AAU wont do a thing to you. You will not be held accountable. Just simply stating what all of us were told. We never knew of this contract. That is why people are upset. AAU messed up by giving you certain rules and posting something totally different on the website. AAU's mistake, not yours. 2) It does matter what I think. I am a part of TN AAU Wrestling. We are at every tournament. I help coach my son's team. As long as anyone is a part of TN AAU Wrestling, their opinion matters just as much as yours. Maybe is doesn't really matter what you think. You are not so special that your opinion is the only one that matters. 3) We are NOT an out of state wrestler or team. Why is that? That right...its because we are from TN. We went to OUR state tournament. Not another state's state tournament. We don't live in another state. Was I present? No. Why? Because we live in and wrestle for a TN team. Did we sign the contract? No. Why? You guessed it...we are from TN. 4) Did it affect us? It affected everyone that went to state or region. Nothing against you or the other out of state kids, but you are not from our state. It is just flat out wrong that any out of state wrestler was allowed to wrestle in our state or region in the first place. This rule never should have made from the beginning. You have your own state tournament...wrestle in it. I will be at the state meeting, and I will do everything in power to see that this injustice is fixed.
  14. This came straight from the TN AAU website under rules and regulations. I see nothing about a contract. AAU/Team Tennessee Handbook 2011-2012 Changes IV. 15. I don't recall them making it public, but I could be wrong. I have been wanting to go myself, but never know when it is.
  16. I agree with you, and feel bad for your kid. I know a lot of other people that were not happy with the out of state wrestlers either. At least my kid lost lost in the finals to a TN wrestler. With all that said, you are wasting your time. My sons 1st year he lost in the finals to a kid 20 pounds heavier than him from the HWT division. AAU's explanation...the kid had no one to wrestle so they moved the kid down. My son hadn't lost all year until that match. My kid gets 2nd at state to a HWT. You can argue all you want, but in the end, you will be told to bring it up at the annual meeting. They are not going to change it now that it is over.
  17. I like your idea about each team voting on it. It's one of those things that you will never keep everyone happy. I know all of the region 4 teams were not happy about it, but we are not in the same situation as Chattanooga. I think they should meet in the middle. If the kids are from another state, but wrestle for a TN team they can wrestle in our state. If they wrestle for a team from another state then they can't.
  18. EXACTLY. The point of state is to find the best wrestler in each weight class in each state. How can you be the best wrestler in TN when you don't even live in TN. I am not scared of my boy wrestling people from other states. That is why we take him to multiple national tournaments each year. I love him wrestling kids from other states. It just shouldn't at region or state.
  19. I agree with this. Memphis is very long drive for 95 percent of the teams in TN. It would hurt participation in the state tournament. A lot of people would not go unless they had a good chance of taking 1st. It has to somewhere centrally located to make it fair to the whole state.
  20. I want to thank everyone that volunteered their time to put the tournament on. I know a lot of you didn't sleep at all trying to fix brackets. It was not the best ran tournament I have been to. However, given the circumstances, I think everyone did the best they could. There was some great wrestling, and overall a good weekend. I loved the addition of the state duals on the day after to determine who makes Team TN. In years past, the best 5th grader was usually who made the team. With the state duals, the kids have to wrestle for a spot on the team. It doesn't get more fair than that. I have some suggestions(some already mentioned). 1) The tournament needs to be somewhere bigger if everyone is to wrestle on the same day. We need more seating to keep people off the mats unless they are wrestling. I saw the referees fall over people more than once yesterday. 2) Every age group needs to qualify. The sport is growing and, it will make the kids that miss out on going work harder to get there next season. 3) Bigger awards area so there is room for people to take pictures of their kids. 4) Showcase the finals and 3rd/4th place matches. It makes it even more special to the kids. 5) Go to 8 regions. Top 3 go to state. 24 man brackets. The 1 seeds all get a bye. 2 and 3 seeds wrestle to face the 1 seeds. Having and odd number of regions screws up the brackets. You get more region champs on one side than the other. With the larger venue, you can allow more to wrestle. It helps grow the sport, and adds more competition. 6) Every tournament should be on trackwrestling with the results posted. This allows it to be seeded properly. Ideally, you want the best 2 wrestling in the finals. I know it is extra work, but the kids deserve it. The "slotted" system that is being used now does not split the best kids. It is just the luck of where your region falls. 7) Only TN residents can wrestle in region and state. I know the intent was to get better competion. A state championship is supposed to be special. The whole point of it is to find out who our best wrestler in each weight class is. I know of some kids that were the best TENNESSEE kid in the their weight class, but lost out on a state championship to someone from a different state. I am not complaining. Just some things I think would improve youth wrestling in TN. Once again, I want to thank everyone that worked to put the tournament on.
  21. I understand trying to get better competition for our wrestlers. For regular tournaments it is great when kids from other states show up. This is just not right for any TN wrestler that loses to an out of state wrestler. The point of the STATE tournament is to find the best wrestler in TN. When you allow kids from other states to show up, it is no longer a TN State Championship. If you live in GA, there is a GA state tournament. KY has a KY state tournament. VA has a VA state tournament. They can go win their state. Let the TN kids win their state, and then they can compete against each other for a national championship. You try to help 50 kids from other states, but punish all of the kids that live in TN. We live on TN/KY border but we would never try to wrestle in the KY state tournament. If you live in VA, you don't vote in TN. If you live in KY, you don't get a TN driver's license. If you live in GA, you don't get TN license plates. So why you should you get to compete to become a TN state champion? This is just wrong.
