  1. harpeth played their jv the whole game, pitched a freshman, and haynes, snider, collins, lampley, and hale did not even touch the field. they played cheatham and ezell harding sat. and beat them both. ask cheatham how it feels when harpeth hitts six bombs off of you. and beat you 16-2. by the way, lampley only gave up two hitts in that game.
  2. i dont think that harpeth will have any problem at all in the pitching standings. Just ask cheatham, they were all there to watch haynes and erland rack up for ten k's in five innings. haynes had seven and erland had three. by the way if haynes would not have walked one kid in the third they would have compiled a perfrect game. both threw no-hitters. with haynes throwing mid 80's heat and erland coming behind him with the same stuff but from the other hand. i see these two being a very good combonatioin down the stretch.
  3. i would really like to see the lewis co./ sycamore game. it should be a good one. harpeth beat lewis co. last weekend 6-1. they are a decent team. big hint!!!!! dont throw #25 anything that he can touch with a ten foot pole. he can mash. he does nothing but DH and does that very well. LC's one run came from a bomb that he hit that was up in his eyes. good luck to sycamore and especially to doubbler for a good senior year. He deserves it!
  4. has waverly played any scrimmages yet or any jamborees. i think they will sneak up and beat some people this year down the back stretch. possibly the second go 'round with the district regular season games.
  5. i played with Langston, Haynes, Sooter, Bolden, Morrison, and Meirhead this summer. thses kids are very talented and very well coached. i look to see them going deep in regions and possibly making a sneak appearance to memphis in may.
  6. Personally i think there are may too many good teams that are missing from this list. what in the world is Mont. Central doing in the top ten. They should be now where close. Maybe in the top fifty!
  7. just a question. What ever happened to Doubler? The catcher. i didnt think he was a standout player or anything but he deffinatley had consistancey. i thought that he would be a contributing factor for sycamore. i saw harpeth practice the other day. if they have anything it is power. they had five kids hitting bombs in practice. and they have a good sized field. they have a good pitching staff in Collins, Haynes, Erland, Lampley, Snider, Fizer, Hale.... and the list goes on . they have an ex. collegiate pitching star for a coach so you better beleive they will know how to pitch. the only thing that i worry about is their infeild. they are very young but talented there. consistancey will be a question.
  8. Last year this district had many good pitcher. Gann-Harpeth, Gunter-Mont. Central. Who will be the top this year. Does anyone even know anything about the new pitchers at harpeth and other teams in the district?
  9. i beleive you are right. this will be nothing but an opion post.
  10. there is one freshamn pitcher that i know that has amzing potential and ice water running through his veines at all times. Andy Brown, Harpeth. Yes same as Coach BRown, which everyone has heard about, the football coach at harpeth. this kid stands about 6 ft. about 160 lbs and throws left ahnded. he has aight speed at about mid 70's but has more pitches in his arsonal than busch has troops in iraq. the best part is his throws all of them for strikes. look for him to be a major surprise in district 10-AA.
  11. About the whole summer league thing. I believe that a lot of these coachs are hurting their teams by making their players play for them in the summer. these are 14-18 year old boys we are talking about. there is only so much they can take of one another. i seem to like giving the boys a choice in the matter. i know for instance that harpeth has not had all their players playing on one summer league team since they started playing in that league four years ago. harpeth has four kids that have started for teams that have won a world series in the last three years. all are sophmores. two seniors that played in two world series last year for probably the best team in nashville and they both started for this team. i just think that sometimes coaches are thinking more about themselves and how they are going to look in the next varsity season than making their players better and thus having a better team. what is yalls take on it?
  12. i dont think that Loretto plays a TOUGHER schedule than Harpeth. Cheatham is questionable, but lets see Loretto keep up with DCA, Columbia, Cheatham.
  13. i personally know the rules for the transfer. I had to go through it as a freshman. She had to show a legitament "change of address." Meaning shut untilities off or sell the property. That standard was not met so the penalty was handed out. No knock on coach Carr but you would think that he would personally check these things before playing a girl. This is not a perfect world and when so much is on the line you cant trust a person telling you that their daughter is legal you have to check for yourself. I do feel sorry for Katie because she thought everything was done properly. I do see her playing JUCO or small D-3 ball anyways. No luck on the scholarship though.
  14. this may be a long shot but i am picking this state championship to be the most exciting of all time. Harpeth vs. Cheatham Co. Lady Indians bring home first state championship of any of the three schools in the county. EVER. Good luck to both teams and hope to see them meet one another in the state championship.
  15. I believe that this district will have a lot of good games. i do believe that harpeth is very under rated. they have plenty of pitching as well as a very talented sophmore class. they have two stand-out pitchers in ross collins and cole haynes. ross can lull you to sleep with his change up and great accuracy while haynes is throwing upper eighties heat. these two played on a very good summer team, nashville bobcats, and went to miami where they were both heavily recruited by local colleges. i think that coach frasier has made a great move by moving haynes to the out field. he has been replaced at ss by his younger cousin chase birdwell. this kid can really play some ball. with haynes collins and lampley in the out field they will have plenty of speed and three very strong bats. this team i think will deffinatley surprise many people with their hard work and talent. coach brad frasier will have anothe successful year at harpeth.
