I remember seeing you (or rather someone who I thought was you) on the CV Facebook stream of the game. They/you were in front of the camera, and on their phone on each play. Could have sworn they had a backpack w/ a skull and crossbones on it.
I agree with you that the CV game was a milestone point for our program, and even though we had more players suspended for the following week, we still managed to keep focused and move past that to accomplish a successful season. Our kids still get emotional and make mistakes/penalties that leave us folks in the stands and in these forums shaking our heads, but for the most part they seem to be more in control. One game at a time, and our time is Friday in Frog-bottom. "One ring to rule them all"
@PiRaTe._.Mike, I'll be happy with a W, no matter what the spread is. It's just better when you can brag a little after the fact. But if CV puts 22 on us, it'll be because our fourth string couldn't tie their cleats or find the field.
I can dig it, but realistically, to get to Peabody, you have to go through Mackenzie, and to get to Mackenzie, we have to make it past the first two rounds. One game at a time, starting on Friday. Peabody doesn't exist (saying that fascetiously).
You may be right. Every game in this region is going to be tough, there are no show up and get the "W" games--you have to work for it. As for taking the home field advantage away, yeah, get a two or three TD lead and the crowd goes comatose. Only wish the music guy would.
I have to disagree with you @TheTruthHurts22. Don't forget this match up will be at Cornersville. With the home field advantage they always seem to have, I think it will be more like 32 to 0 City 'cause you know we'll get one called back. Maybe the refs will keep the Dawgs from using the Suplex for this game.
Oh no you don't! Don't stick us with that extra baggage putting City up there with Peabody @PeabodyPride. Let ya'll be the ones with the bullseye on their backs. I'd say we're a strong #3.
Thanks for the kind words @PiRaTe._.MiKe. We also seem to be able to fill in the gaps when players are out, and to date haven't skipped a beat. I'm sure Coach Morson and staff are waiting on that day when all the players are actually on the field and dressed to play! I am glad that we've been in a position to allow our young ones some playing time. Reminds me of another Black and Orange team we know!
Thanks '68, I will go with you on that. Overwhelming is on another level we're trying to reach. Historically, we played up to (or down to) our competition. Here recently, we've been kind of successful no matter what the level we've faced. I would even throw it out there that the West will keep the Gold Ball for the next three years. Has that ever happened? A five year stretch?
Actually we graduate nine at the end of the year. And, a lot of them do start, but if you say we weren't "head and shoulders" better than Lake C. last year, we were at least 14 points better. There are so many potentially great teams in the West, it'll be a matter of survival of the fittest to get to Chattanooga.
Moore county quarterback was what was keeping them in the game. With him out for some kind of injury, it doesnt look good. And now City is starting to be more assertive on both sides of the ball.
