Nope don't get to get to many of the games with my work schedule,I mainly just get to watch a few jr high games

Actually,I still have love for Cloudland and want them to do well as I would like for all the county school to do.do I still know kids from Cloudland of course I do I have friends and family up there.But for the past 5 years I have had to learn how to love Hampton and all the people of Hampton and they have made the transition easy, Great community and people, same as roan mountain

I'm far from a parent of Cloudland my son goes to Hampton and my wife teaches there,I went to Cloudland and played for Mike many many moons ago,I'm not trying to tarnish anybody's name or anything like that it's my opinion that's all

Man I know it's Hampton/Cloudland game, I played in it as well as you did,I'm just saying from your earlier post it seemed like if Hampton won the game there was going to be issues,if people have issues with lunsford then that needs to be handled in a different way,if they didn't see him cutting bait and helping his son then they haven't been paying attention to his track record,when the talent is gone so is he,that statement may make some some people upset but that's how I've seen it

Just don't get it,why be mad about a high school football game, you're still going to win the conference and that may very well be the only games they win but still it's a conference championship,the people that can't handle it is the people that don't play the games,every one has bad years and good years just got to except that,and the truth be told it wouldn't matter who was coaching the team they're just not that talented in some areas,and they really didn't utilize the talent that they have, things may be different now with a interim coach, but I don't think it'll be the different

Holy cow this one could get outa hand quick,if the coaches want to but I figure they'll have some mercy.I like old Scott potter he's a pretty good guy,he actually did better with the jr high than I thought they'd do but this is a whole new animal.

I'll take the DOGZ by 15 should be a good game though

Oh no I'm not saying that Cloudland isn't a great school most of my family went there myself included,it all has to do with the enrollment numbers,there is empty classrooms at the elementary and the numbers are low at the high school as well,most of the people who move in to roan mountain are retired or their kids are grown and could care less about the school,and alot of the kids who graduated from there have no choice but to move to find work not everybody wants to be a teacher or work in the medical field.Im not saying this consolidation will ever take place but from a financial standpoint it really would make sense to consolidate

I really have no DOG in this but didn't coach White resign from unicoi after a couple of games a few years back,or did he take the coaches place that resigned.ive heard bad things about coach White but I didn't think anything about the rumors.Let the coaching search begin

The Valley handles this one with ease,the creekers are working hard but haven't figured out how to win yet I'd say they're a couple of years away from being more competitive,good luck to both teams and no injuries

I'm outa the loop,what's going on with all the talk of things going to happen with Cloudland,what's the deal,do people not realize that every team has ups and downs they just happen to be having a down right now,but on a bright note they should easily win the conference just may not have very good overall record

I have to agree to disagree with you, no offense,but I've seen it in all the schools, especially at the school up on the mountain,keep in mind I maybe a bulldog now but back in the day I was a lander,I'm not saying these kids aren't good players but when you get double or triple the carries of other backs.i do believe that some coaches are influenced by other people in the school administration or school board

Really had no idea about that,just thought with all the talented backs and a veteran line there was no way they would be 0-2,I don't really get into the political stuff,I just don't quite understand why they continue to push certain families not saying these guys aren't good players but I have seen better backs get pushed aside,for certain other players.

Hey king you have your finger on the pulse of the landerz,I got a question,I thought with the new coach and with different administration that things would be different with the talented stable of running backs up there, I'm not saying that birchfield isn't a good little back but to give him the ball 21times and lacy only 10times what happened to D.Black,and H Blair.

This will also be a tough game,but I don't see it being as lopsided as GP,the Dogz will improve over the season,with a lot of underclassmen getting more experience.

Not sure how Cloudland closing would effect the Hampton community in a negative way,I'm sure most of the kids from Cloudland would head up to avery,and down to etown feel like very few would come to Hampton,as far as the gate the HV game brings in pretty close to the Cloudland game does,I'd hate to lose rivalry but there's really not the hatred that there used to be,not saying these kids don't put it all on the line when they play it's always war but it's not has heated as back in the day.Remember back during the jr high basketball playoffs both schools sit together and both cheered for each other,it was awesome to see.we all will eventually be one school so everybody is going to lose their colors and their mascot,Carter co.south Mountaineers,colors are black and gold is in the works

HV by two touchdowns depth and speed will eventually wear down the landerz,but it won't be until the 4th quarter, training high up on the mountain gives you a little more stamina

This should be a good test to see how far along the dogz have come,they may not win but it will be a good game and GP will know that they were in a fight,I feel as the season goes the dogz will be better and better with the underclassmen developing

Talked to his dad today he said that he was going to be starting offensive and defensive line,if he continues to grow and develop he should be a beast in a couple of years

I recently heard that this may very well be the last year of Cloudland,one of the new teachers was told he'd have a job this year but not next year because they were closing the school,not sure if this is true,just what I'm hearing
