Not having a hatred for the rival schools just comes from growing up and maturity,and figuring out you're more than likely going to have to work with, go to church with some of these people,or in my case it's just where my wife and kids go to school,every time I don the bulldog blue my wife says I never thought I'd ever see that.i think consolidated the two shouldn't be too hard,I saw that during jr high basketball tournament both communities pulled for eachother,I kinda got teary eyed the way they all came together

True,I'd like to see him all decked out in bulldog gear

Carter county South high school Mountaineers,colors are going to black and gold like App state,or it's going to be Mary Patton high school powdermakers or roadrunners,Lol.i have seriously heard about Carter co south

I couldn't agree more,give me a bunch of kids that just live to play and compete,I'm not much on superstars,I played with one (superstar)on my teams growing up always felt like we would have been a better team if other players got to touch the ball as well.i like what I've seen from the starters as well,I think it's going to be a very fun and competitive season

They have some kids that were pretty impressive in jr high last couple of years but that doesn't always translate into good high school team

It's part of it,but I think the creekers have finally found a coach that ,can get the athletes from other sports to come out for football,they may have figured out that at a small school you have to share the athletes,plus the rest of the conference is as bad as I have ever seen,even Cloudland is going to have some problems after this year,not having a jr high team may come back to bite them.

Cloudland, should be the team to beat,I can't believe I'm going to say this but I actually think unaka could possibly be the 2nd place team this year,they have a great coach and he's trying to turn some things around

I look for the dogz to improve much though out the year,they have some very promising freshmen and sophomores,last year's jr high team was very good.ill be curious to see how many of those freshmen get to see push for varsity action.

From what I'm hearing their boys basketball coach is looking at finding a new job,by his choice,not sure what is going on he maybe seeing the handwriting on the wall or he's just ready to go in a different direction,I know he has moved to elizabethton,I have been critical of he's coaching abilities over the years but I wish him GOOD LUCK in what ever way he goes

Hope so I'd like to see them have a competitive team for a couple of seasons,I've driven by the field in the mornings and saw the kids working hard just don't have big numbers out there.

I watched her as well, always hustled,and fought hard,I think it's a good hire always good to see some new,young coaches get an opportunity.hopefully there won't be any growing pains.Good luck to her

From what I'm hearing and seeing is there's just not that many kids going to school up on the mountain anymore,I have some kinfoke up there and they're saying it's just a matter of time before the doors are closed,most people have moved onto greener pastures,on down the road,and most of the people who are moving in are retired with grown kids and they have no interest in the school or the community

No big deal ill just wait for basketball season

True there are a lot of great teams in the state tournament,there are also great teams that don't make it there,from having a bad game at the wrong time or other circumstances.i hope that you are right and a gold ball makes its way to roan mountain

I don't know if we're on the same page,there have been some awfully good girls teams go through Cloudland,I'm talking about two different jr high teams the first is the one with Brooke j.,Shelly m. and the next group was with the Wilson girls and C. Clark and that group, remember that group even picked up a D1 player B.Rhodes and they still didn't get a gold ball but I haven't watched the girls you're talking about so I'll take your word for it.im going to poke a little fun at you,that team your talking about just might end up at Hampton when it's all said and done BIG BLUE ALLIANCE

Just like what I thought would happen,I figured Matt would take the job,he sees the talent,but I caution all the lander fans don't count your chickens before they hatch,I remember a while back when Cloudlands jr high girls were very very talented and there was many things that happened, can't remember if they made state or not but I know everyone including me was expecting to see a gold ball,good luck to them

I think that goes for just about all their sports,kids from the county.id loved to see have they would have done without them in football for the past couple of years

Hopefully you guys can keep them from transfering to the black and orange recruiting monster.

Does anyone know if the McKinney kid is staying at Cloudland or if he's heading to the dog pound,after playing with the jr high team last year, really good little athlete.
