To the Oneida boys, Keep your heads up. I know this season hasn't gone the way you guys or Coach Windle wanted it to. So many reasons why, or excuses, or whatever you want to call it. But, the biggest thing is to not get down on yourselves right now. Yes, you didn't play good versus Wartburg in the District, and didn't make shots when needed against Harriman, and may not have taken care of the ball in the fourth quarter in many games this season. But the fact is that you are still playing basketball. And you will keep playing as long as you love the game, and play every minute with the passion that attracted you to the game. The deal is, that no matter what, it's you on the court playing, not your coach. He can't make the shots for you, he can't pass the ball for you, and he can't rebound the ball for you. You, as a player, must take the responsibility and do that yourself. And when you do step up and take the leadership role within yourself, you will realize how wonderful of a game this truly is. It's only when we've been challenged and overcame that challenge that we really understand the meaning of happiness. You have been challenged all year. Now it is time to reap the benefits of persistence, rather than bowing down to defeat. failure is only failure when you choose to let it defeat you. Remember, their is a purpose behind everything that happens, and maybe the purpose of this season is for you guys, as a team, to grow up and learn how to overcome hardships, so that later in life you will be able to cope with whatever this evil world throws at you. Keep your faith...and you will overcome!

What's the predictions on the semi's: Wartburg / Oneida -- Thursday at 6:30 Rockwood / Harriman -- at 8:00 Can Oneida upset a Wartburg team that dominated them early this season? Can Harriman manage to come together at tournament time? Will Shannon get the MVP of tournament or will it be Rockwood's Payne? If Wartburg/Rockwood for the championship...who will win? What are your predictions???

It's hard to imagine that 1AA's #3, Unicoi Co. is ranked higher than 4AA's #1, Anderson County. I guess that's why it's only computer rankings... But then again, look at Unicoi's record...23-4. Who have they played outside of their District?

What about Oneida...counting them out already?

Yep, I agree...well said. The district is up for grabs with any team capable of winning it, but especially the top 4, 5, and even 6th place team... Wartburg and Rockwood are the front runners, because they proved themselves during the season...Harriman and Oneida and the next competitors, with both capable of upsetting the #1 and #2 seeded teams...with Coalfield and Oakdale having chances...especially to upset Oneida and Harriman... I can't wait...it should be so great to watch. I hope the fans support their team without trying to degrade any other team. It's a good thing that schools have spirit for their team...but you don't have to talk smack to the other teams or their fans. Best wishes to all teams in the district...It's going to be FUN!!!

I think they can do it. From what I hear, they haven't been playing that bad, just not winning the games. They seem to struggle in the 4th quarter. Does anyone know why? I heard that they've been up in most of their games. So why do they have so many losses?

Yes, I do. It is amazing that they have won so many games this year without a loss, but now that the pressure of losing (or not losing) is off of them, I think they can focus on more things. Also, Coach Wirght is one of the best around. Any coach knows that you can learn more from losing than from winning. Let's get back to Scott High... Yes, they are on the rise...I'm interested to see how they finish the season.

Devils, I think chill is just taking the information straight from coacht rankings. He only listed the top 10...with Harriman, Oneida, and other good teams not making into the top 10 yet. Harriman is a young team with a good coach, and could make a serious run in the tournaments. Oneida is a team with a lot of potential, but haven't seen the good side of close games this season. I think Oneida could somehow disrupt things in 4-A and region 2-A, if not win the District and compete for the Region. CAK, Wartburg, Rockwood, Cosby are the top in the Region as of right now.

Fulton is by far the best team in East TN AA; (if not any classification)

Scott by 10+. They are playing well. Watch out for OS's PG, but Scott will take care of business on their floor. The coaching staff at Scott will do their part to ensure the Highlanders are prepared.
