not sure if they they could be "better" and I really doubt Greenback could replace a player like Silvey. But skill players are usually easier to replace bc theres more of them out there. Also heard this group of juniors have played in 8 football championships over the years so they might surprise some people.

Greenback will have to play their best ball with no turnovers. If they do that I see them winning the gold in two sports this year. You think I'm joking but I'm not.

Good news for the Cherokees they won't be facing the same NCS team from last year. And for that hit silvey put on 62 there's no way that boy should have even gone back in the game the player couldn't even get up on his own. Credit for the kid being tough but very surprised the staff allowed him back in.

In a perfect world I agree I would run it every down bc I haven't seen anybody to come close to slowing it down. But Its still Single A ball I don't care how much talent you have, our line plays Both sides of the ball and you will hear the dads moms uncles aunts papaws granny's hollering RUN THE BALL bc it's 2nd down and short. #8 knows how big of a rest it gives the line when they hear him give 60 or 70s pass protection play. This game has evolved from the 80s and keeps evolving we can watch all the game films on vhs in my tv cabinet when that's all they did was run the ball every play and you can ask GFD and ONB what they were doing when the run wasn't coming their way. The line has to get a breather when they can. I hope the coaches run them to death Monday thru Wednesday bc we need it! Lambert has always had Ryans number and Ryan knows it. If Ryans lives by his motto "TAKE WHAT THEY GIVE YOU" be another big win for them cherokees!

Sounds like no pressure is on Greenback, lose no big deal you were picked to get drilled but if you win you shock the state. If NCS doesnt give gb qb any time in the pocket and keep him from scrambling for first downs it will be ugly like everybody is predicting. What ive seen is that Greenback is a physical hard hitting team with a few playmakers but not sure if it will hold up to the NCS D1 prospects. Its even rare for Alcoa or Maryville to be sending out D1 players. Congrats to both teams dont take it lightly its a huge deal! Would love to go to Blount County Jamboree next year and see 3 defending state champs.

really impressed with the cope reciever all ya had to do is throw it up and he went up and got it every time. Gb has some good skill players but wasnt impressed with the line and the qb picked the ball of the ground several times in shotgun position. They should win all games but one they have the schedule to do it. But would love to see them beat grace and go undefeated!

Greenback should have a decent year of football this season but i wouldnt compare them to the 80s 90s, early 00's or 2008 team. Greenback needs to be looking for a coach if they ever want to do what the 87 team achieved. Greenback has a few athletes on the field this year hopefully they will be playmakers. Does anybody know if any of the players on the squad now have won a playoff game?
