This was without a doubt the best game I have seen this year! Clarkrange had this one coming down the stretch & the Maxwell girl took that hope away with a big 3. What a shot & perfect timing!!! Had Phillips & Reed not been out of the game in OT it may have turned out different but ........you have to give JC big Kudos for coming out with this WIN! Both teams are Top Notch teams......they should be the two standing in the end. Good luck to both! Someone from Clarkrange let us know how Reed is.....

I hear what you are saying & have seen in many times but that's not the case with Melton. Yes.... Melton does have alot of talent on his team but don't let that fool you. He is the real deal....I have seen him work with kids that I personally didn't see much talent in & he helps bring out the best in them. He gives his team that extra something to make them work harder for him. That in my opinion makes him a great coach & Coach of the year. On top of that his knowledge of the game ....what works & what doesn't is unbelievable. As long as Melton keeps his passion of the game at the level it is now....he will keep winning. Sure he will have off years but I would bet he has more good than bad. We need more coaches like him in our grade schools.

Good job guys!! Dunn is a phenomenon......this kid shows me something new every time I watch him. He deserved this honor. In my opinion, TJ Smith is the most improved in the district......he didn't play much last year & look at him now!! Clint West was hands down the defensive player of the year. He should have been higher than 3rd team.....he is a hustler. Todd Smith.... great all around player. Great season LA??¦..lets make post season just as good!!

Why even have a vote then....just give it to the coach that wins the district. If you did that then someone would complain about that.

No need to apologize to me....I'm an outsider looking in. It's not all about the record.....if it was the coaches wouldn't even have to vote. I watched the first match up between JC & CR and the game was closer than the score showed. I absolutely know where you are coming from when you feel like your team was wronged but the fact is.....that's the way it goes sometimes & complaining just makes it worse.

Midten....honestly the Coach of the Year is voted on by the other coaches. When things don't go your way don't always whine & say it has to be jealously. I will give you this....Brown is a GREAT coach but that isn't all it takes. If it just takes being a GREAT coach Brown would win every year. It has to do with RESPECT....earning & giving it. It has to do with What you do in games not by who wins (JC beat CR by just a few points both times). Rogers is just as deserving as Brown & it comes down to how you conducted yourself in front of your girls & to the other team. Now for MVP....don't think that it is jealousy either. RBS is just one vote....they didn't take anything from Laken. Laken is the real deal & I would have voted for her had I been a coach. You have to look at how other coaches look at her.....how she gives & demands respect on the floor. & I know the transfer didn't set well with others but that's not why she didn't get it. Phillips is good you have to give credit where it is due. After everything settles down next year Laken will be at the top again.

I was on the edge of my seat all night...I couldn't sit still! This was a good game....both teams have so much talent. Kilgore is one of my favorite players to watch....great all around athlete. A. Sells can shoot the lights out, West.... great defensive player(just like her sister) & when she gets hot ...she can shoot 3's all night, C. Car.... good hustler & can shoot the 3 , Taylor....she can handle the ball well & has good moves. I am most impressed with Makenzie Sells..... this kid is everywhere. She makes big plays......it's hard to believe she is a freshman. She usually makes her free throws.....last night those last foul shots put me on edge but it all worked out /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> Great game LA!!

I know Upperman is a top notch team but I was in shock when I heard the score. York has been playing really good lately....they have beat LA & Upperman both once(that alone is something to brag about). I figured Upperman would win but by 40 points.....what happen??? We had a nail bitter going on in Livingston....I didn't get to listen to the game.

This kid is an outstanding player.....all around! Where is she going to college at?

Most people on here are hard core fans & we mostly see our own area play. It is hard to give an opinion of girls you haven't seen. I have seen a few games (about 5) this year that LA has not played in. The fact is.....this area just puts out good female athletes. It seems like a lot of our girls get their name in there year after year. I am from Livingston & I think we have the best team in this area. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> In my honest opinion this would be my nominees in A & AA from this area & in this order. Devilish, I hear what you??™re saying about upper classmen getting the honor but I really don??™t think it matters if you??™re a senior or not. The best should win??¦..period! A 1. When we play at home.......In all the years I have played & watched the Visitor section has always been for the visitors. There may be some stragglers or a few kids that set on that side(I don't know everyone) but we don't have our student section over there or anything. In a rare case the gym is full..maybe some fans will set over there. The home fans have the side with the seats, the end side with the seats, & the section when you first walk in(student section). Maybe because it gets so loud in the gym you feel like we are everywhere.....HOGEYE! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

I agree with you Big Daddy.....our boys are doing fine now! Early on in the year I did notice something amongst the guys but the last 4 games I have watched.....looked like team work all the way! What ever it was they fixed it or Melton fixed it.....either way LA is back to team playing.

I was at York Tuesday night..... they had a student section & adult fans setting on the visitor??™s side. There was plenty of room on the home side....not sure why they would set on the visitor side? When York would score the York fans on our side would stand up & look over at us??¦. yell & clap. It's not like they were minding their own business and cheering for their team ....they were trying to ruffle feathers. If the kids see adults act like that.....how do you think the kids will act? The kids follow siut cause they see the adults do it. When people come to LA??¦we set on our side & our students set in their section. The visiting section has a whole side. ??¦none of our fans set over there.

You have one senior....LA doesn??™t have any seniors. Davis & Maynard are the same age as Kilgore, West, A. Sells, Carr & D. Thompson....all Juniors. Four of LA's starters are juniors. York is losing 3 seniors...not sure how many starts. I know Eacret, Peavyhouse & Brown will be back next year. It should be a good match up between these teams next year too. Alison West was the girl with the hair last year.....I think she is at Cumberland? Correct me if I'm wrong. Her little sister Adrian is a junior ....she has stepped her game up big time this year!

LA in a close one...I'm going to say by 4. Lady Cats have kept a good steady streak going.... I they can do this. West has been playing unbelievable well & Kilgore is like a rock. The only thing I am worried about is Upperman coming off a big win with JC. I know If Davis & Dyer get hot...watch out. Hey Jimbo, you follow both teams.... who do you take? Go Hogeye!

Being a true fan is admitting the good & bad. I am a true fan??¦..I went to LA, still live in Livingston, go to the games, wear my blue & white on game days & no??¦my kids aren??™t in Highschool. The point I was trying to make has been missed??¦. I am trying to let these boys know that strife on a team can screw everything up??¦. trust me I know. Me personally....I didn't imply that it wasn't working. I think they need to take care of what ever is going on if they want to take it to the next level. My point is.... some fans are talking about what we have seen....not all the time. It seems to happen when some players are doing really good. This is just me speaking as a true Hogeye fan. If you are a true fan that follows the games religiously...you have to admit the good with the bad. I agree with Petes ??¦.this is a great team...best I have seen in a long time. I honestly believe this team can take it to state.

I didn't post that for you to attack Chase...he is a great player. That's not what I was trying to get across. I see TJ & Todd not being utilized like they should be. I just want these guys to see the big picture.

Jacob Wright is a force. I have watched PC play several games this year & as much as we at LA would like to think has was ???contained??? he wasn??™t. It??™s not all bout the points scored. From what I have watch he is looking at the floor more??¦. looking for his teammates but still taking some of his shots. Wright & Capps makes a good combo but PC need more than just them to step up. Bibb will get it straighten out Even though PC has a good team??¦. LA is better. . I am a big Chase Dunn fan??¦the boy is unbelievable! He did get a few shots in but don??™t they all? All players push it to see what they can get way with??¦that??™s Basketball. He didn??™t do anything that wasn??™t being done to him. LA has a great team this year no doubt about it but I think some things need to be straighten out buy Richard before it gets worse. From what I have seen this year??¦..I have seen some jealousy & attitudes on the floor. I don??™t know the deal is but the fans can tell. I have heard people around me talk about it too. I noticed it back before Christmas??¦. some games aren??™t as bad as others but it seems to get worse when certain players do well. Come on guys put the attitudes & egos aside and play as a team. I know everyone likes to be the big scorer for the team but I notice players for their assist as much as I do points scored. When Colleges scout??¦..they notice stuff like that. This year is our year??¦..get it together boys! I guess this sounded like a lecture??¦.I don??™t mean for it to. I just want these guys to see the big picture??¦we have the talent to take it all this year. Go Hogeye!

I will be pulling for JC ??¦oh except when we play you again!! About the whole recruiting thing??¦. who cares! If parent & players think they can have a better opportunity with another school or learn more under that coach??¦.good for them. The girls that transferred or not originally from JC doesn??™t bother me??¦.I think all these girls compliment each other. Let it be ??¦.but you have to be ready to accept the jawing from other places when you have a team like you do. You shouldn??™t threaten to take them to court??¦.that makes it worse! You just keep it going when you argue. If it get personal about these girls ??¦.coach T will take care of it.

Good job LA! Both teams have alot to be proud of. I hope we see this area represented by these two teams in the State A & AA Championship! Good night for basketball....can't wait to see the rematch!

Devlish...where are you now? I know you said it wouldn??™t be close but I had no ideal you meant JC wouldn??™t be close to us? I really hate that I am smiling about JC losing but I can't help it. All of these fans who have been talking so much crap & bringing bad Karma on these kids....have to eat crow today. I can't help but laugh about that. I am Hogeye all the way but I can't help but to pull for JC in Single A. I have no problem admitting they are a tough team, good girls & well coached. Should win State??¦..they have the best team in single A hands down. Now maybe, just maybe some will be humbled by this experience.....don't talk so much crap. Nothing wrong with being proud of your team but it maks it hard on these girls because the fans talk so much crap??¦.makes people hate JC. I know the old saying??¦ ???It??™s lonely at the top???.
