Your right playing at LA makes a difference. LA will have to be on top of their game to win this.... it will be close but I say LA by 4. Upperman is a great team but York proved Upperman could be beat. As far as Upperman is better in every aspect than LA ….I totally disagree. LA has as many strong points as the bees…to each their own. I will give credit where it is due but these girls deserve more than they are getting.

Overton County Girls Tournament held at Wilson Elementary. Feb 15th 6:45 (4) Hilham vs. (5) Wilson Feb 19th 5:30 (1)LMS vs. Winner of Hilham & Wilson 8:00 (2)Rickman vs. (3)Allons Feb. 22nd at 7:00 Winner of games above play in final This is the schedule I have. Seems crazy that one of the best two teams will be out first thing. Not taking anything from LMS but Allons and Rickman has the best two teams. Will Samantha be back to playing for Allons?

About his name, I went blank & all I could think of was Kendell. I have watched him play before & he is a good player. No, I didn’t get to watch Allons play in the James C. Haile, I only got to watch Rickman play Forrest last Monday. It looks like all of the Overton County teams had a good tournament.

Who was selected All Tournament from Rickman & Allons girls?

Why didn't the Melton boy make All Tournament? From the games I have watched, I thought he was a good player & one of the leaders of this team.

This game wasn't even close. Gordon dominated...... he was unstoppable! Watching him it was hard to remember to he was still in High School. The Jordan boys were ok/average.... could you imagine the presser that comes from being a super stars son. I watched off the court with Jeff Jordan & he seemed to be a really humbled kid. I think it said he was the only one interested in playing pro ball. Marcus wants to play college ball but he wants to be an actor/entertainer. I said I thought they were ok/average but if you will remember Jordan in High School.....he was average & was even cut from the Varsity team until his junior year. Marcus may be just like his dad…time will tell.

Nice win for the girls on the Mountain. I was surprised… It must have been a completely different game from the one I watched at Upperman a few weeks ago because it was like a 20-point difference for most of the game. Not taking anything away from Upperman because they're a great ball team but I think the girls in this district needed this. No one has won this District yet!!!

I really enjoyed this game.... it was a good win for LA. They need to remember that they are never out of the running. "Holding Dunn to 15" speaks for itself.... most people would consider this an awesome game but when you say Dunn only scored 15 just shows how much of a force he is! McLerran played a good game tonight.... I’d like to see Ramsey do the same. Ramsey is a great ball player but he seems like he has been down & he acts mad all the time. I hope he comes out of it...we need him!! JC has nothing to be ashamed about...12 game winning streak is something to be proud of.

Makenzie Sells from Rickman is the total package! She is doninating in this tournament! This kid will be the female version of Chase Dunn at LA. She will surprise a lot of people. I think Rickman & Livingston play tonight or tomorrow night.

Come on…. you can’t tell me you are judging Dunn on 2 games & one of them he probably shouldn’t have played because he was hurt! This is for MVP ….you need to look a little deeper. I agreed with you that Jones is a good player and actually he had a really good game against Dekalb last week but lets be realistic. Dunn has out played him in every aspect of the game. I know you can’t look at points alone when evaluating a player but Dunn can score, assist & the kid just makes plays happen! Granted LA has a good team this year but I think this Sophomore has made his presents known! He has posted numbers like ….35,26,26, 25, and 23 against a tough 12th ranked schedule. These are his numbers on what you call a bad night… 18, 16(against Dekalb that you said he didn’t play good) , 14 and 12(which is the lowest I remember him scoring). I’m not going to down Jones because I think the kid can play but Dunn is very deserving of this title!

I would have to agree with you about Jones...he is good but I would take Dunn over Jones. About not being impressed by Dunn.... Saturday wasn't his best performance but you have to consider.... he was playing on a very badly sprained ankle. He hurt it against York last week & they weren't even sure if he would play against Dekalb. You need to watch him play when he is 100%.... he is defiantly the real deal.

I don't know what your problem with Melton & LA is but you need to take your own advice. This is from your post in "Why do coaches do some things they do?" From Rup11 'Sounds like sour grapes to me. Are you a parent or one of the subs or could you be one of the ones who quit? My question is: What can you do when you disagree with a coach and their style, philosophy, etc.? Does "venting" on CoachT help? Should you talk to the coach, administrator, etc. There are many people who have issues with coaches (and I don't know what school you are talking about). But, on the other hand, a coach is definitely not going to please everyone. The "subs" are not going to get the playing time they prefer. The starters aren't going to always play the "perfect" game, so what do you do? Is there a solution?" Get over it!

If we had the Dekalb team that won earlier in the year & the wildcat team that won Saturday, LA would have still come out on top. Dekalb has a good team but LA has the edge on them. This will be a good match up for the next couple of years!

You guys need to let it GO!! Stinson & Cates were both worthy! Don't slam Cates, he was an all around great player.....leave it at that! Guys this is '07!!! Lets get back on topic. Dunn should be the MVP this year. I remember when everyone was saying that when Dunn come to LA that he was riding Richard Melton's coat tail....lol....how funny is it now! Dunn has proven that he is an athlete!!

Tennis who are you & why do you hate on LA so much?? First, I can't understand all the hostility & why you have never said anything good about LA? I actually think it is funny how you are always talking sh** about LA & how bad we are…you act like we are this poor little hick community. Even as you are trying to convince everyone how LA will never amount to anything you are just proving that you have let us/Hogeye get under your skin. Please tell me, I have to know, what was it....did you play, did you set the bench, were you just a wantabe or just a critic?? That is not what these boys are about. We need to remember this about the LA team!! "None of this matters" are you serious?? You are crazy if you think a coach doesn't make a difference. Sometimes coaches are blessed with excellent athletes (LA has a few) but in Richard Melton's case I have seen him first hand take a not so talented kid & make him into a great ball player. Let me tell you what I mean by great ball player, a thinker someone that sees & makes plays. Richard teaches kids strategy & how to think on the court. So if you honestly believe that Richard's coaching hasn't made a difference with this LA team you are mistaken. Your comment about switching coaches… if you were to take the coaches out of the picture, Apples to Apples our boys probably are better athletes but you put a coach like Melton in the mix he could improve any team. Up2late is right, this thread has gotten way of the subject. I am just as bad for putting my two cents in but it bothers me when people don’t give Richard the credit he deserves!!! I think he has done a great job & our boys have worked hard!! Can I get a HOGEYE!!!

Yes, were are small town & we haven't had this pleasure of competing for a STATE TITAL....emotions are going to run high. I agree. LA will do just fine next year. Lots of talent.As for Bibb......you can't blame a man for wishful thinking!!! I have alot of respect for McCoin but LA should have held onto Bibb when we had him!!! LA's loss...Pickett's gain.
