One of the things I noticed about this AP 1A poll: SP loses by 7 to the undefeated 2nd ranked AP 2A Meigs County at their house and apparently there's blood in the water for some of these voters. 6 of the 15 first place votes went to 3 other schools. 5 of those 6 first place votes are to other 1 loss teams as well. 3 of those 5 to a school that got beaten by Jasper, = Jasper the school that wanted no part of South Pittsburg.

Don't start hyperventilating on us now. You're right. I do love the playoffs.

The winner of that game gets @ Gordy in the first round.

That whole region 5 is very competitive. Fayetteville has been the team to beat the last couple years out of that region. I believe the west is wide open as well. I don't see a clear cut favorite.

They were the talk of the town so to speak in their region 5. Got beat by Fayetteville who I have seen a couple times. After looking at their schedule though I really can't say they are 'good'.

I remember when SP had well north of 450. We dropped to about 225. Now up to 280+.

Keep building that depth.

I've got Waverly slotted for 3A as well. They are on the bubble.

I have them slotted for 1A. We will see.

There isn't a set cut-off number for any DI classification. Each DI class will be divided equally by the number of football playing schools. Ex. If there are 300 DI football playing schools each class 1A - 6A would each have 50. 300 ÷ 6 = 50. The largest school in each classification 1A- 5A will be what is used for the enrollment cut-off numbers for any new school coming on board after the classifications are set for the next two years.

Fayetteville will have about 4-5 key players out for their game vs Gordonsville.

I believe the 3 Sullivan schools are consolidating as West Ridge.

Everything will be completed and posted by the first week of November. So, maybe we'll get a glimpse of the classes the last week of Oct (or before) which will give schools one week to request to move up. Nov 12 meeting is when the BOC will approve it and finalize it.
